Thanks for this tip. I'm trying to replace those burners on my old stove myself. Check this out: the burners would not turn or be removed so I took a flat head screwdriver and with a mallet tried to separate the burner from the stove top. It finally came out after I tapped around the burner. I found out why it stuck: it's that lousy gasket that burned on to the stove top. After I dislodged the burnt gasket, it turned just like you showed and it came out. At this point, I have to chisel away the burnt gasket so the thing will be flush to the stove top. It's nasty work trying to get that stuff off. The replacement burner I got from Amazon does not come with the gasket and apparently, Maytag doesn't sell the gaskets for this thing anymore for obvious reasons that I found out. Thanks so much, bro.

Thanks for the tips! I have the same model and one of the igniters will not arc when trying to light that burner, but will arc when any of the other burners are turned to the 'light' mode. Is that a bad switch? and to replace it, and not break the gas line, do I only need to remove the one screw next to each burner?

My maytag OvenRange model no. MGR5775QDQ needs a new burner ignitor, since it won't ignite on its own. I have to use a cigarette lighter or a match to light it up. So it has gas flow but it won't ignite by itself. But, the burner is screwed into the top panel. The screws heads are so corroded they won't turn or come out. They are so hard because of the heat, I could not drill them out. Is there a solution to this problem other than purchasing a new oven, which way too expense. I would appreciate your help/comments. Thank you

Hi, You may know this, I have a maytag slide in oven (mgs5770adw ) that has a surface igniter issue where the flame is coming from both the normal holes and under the igniter. In this model, is there a gasket that prevent flames from shooting from the base of the igniter? Or is the burner just defective? I cannot find the gasket anywhere online(but know some models do have them), but when i pull out the burner, there is some rust particles underneath it, and what looks to be remnants of something that might or might not be the gasket. I do not want to pull the other burner off because I am scared of the gasket falling apart as it is an old range. Any help will do. Thanks

      It’s the burner

You can replace the burners without any gaskets. 2 of mine actually hardened and disintegrated over time. You just need to clean the stovetop with the burners out more often or when the surrounding areas around the burners are dirty.
