  • Drop test between the Google Pixel 6 Pro and the Apple iPhone 13 Pro Max. We did the drops from 1m this time to see if the iPhone's Ceramic Shield Glass could at least survive that (like the iPhone 12 series did).

Could you drop test the normal pixel 6 since it has a flat display rather than the curved display on the Pixel 6 Pro?

The iphone shattered cause you can't change the nature of ceramic - they are brittle but extremly scratch resistant, when you compare a galaxy S9's drop test with pixel 6 pro , its just embarrassing how pixel damaged at that level

@@neggas- don't be an apple sheep read this completely to understand why 2 segment phones are best at what they do and what they don't.
i use both buddy so i know where apple is bad at and good at. It's good at peak Performance and is not sustain performance.
Android is not good at peak performance is good at Sustained performance.
Let's take an example of PUBG I play the game on both device And the gyroscope on Apple is exceptional, But just after 15 minutes it lowers the brightness Do to phone getting hot, I have contacted Apple and they said it's a program to save the phone and components, This is what they call the performance versus sustained performance. Same story when you are watching HDR/Dolby Vision videos on either Netflix or AppleTV the phone gets dim And hot just by playing videos for a long time like binge watching you have to take your phone out of the case and remove the charger to get it back to normal and this is happening in winter times where the temperature is around 10°C.
Yes most professional players still play on iPhone because they sacrifice screen brightness for a good gyroscope but It's about time android gaming phones we'll catch up.
On the other hand my ROG5 you can game at full brightness at full graphics or binge watch hdr for a week Straight that too plug in on charger, As it has bypass mode that stops charging the battery but powers the phone solely via the charger, Even if it is playing on them regular mode while is charging the battery still not thermal throttle or reduce the brightness to save the oled panel.
See this is what I'm talking about every phone has its pros and cons stop pretending like Apple is the best.
Snapdragon 8gen1 and exynos 2200 are going be a game changer, Apple needs to buckle up and deliver now because phones aren't only communication devices anymore.
At least they should deliver a optimised phone to countries where temperatures are normally higher than the west and where we pay $1200 for iPhone 12 pro max(india) for 128gb base and $1400 for iPhone 13 pro max or $2113 for iphone 13 pro max 512gigs.

Yeah I can see where your coming from. Unfortunately most phone companies are making their phones fragile just to get money out of them for overcharging repairs and getting them to buy new phones. I don' t think Google pixels are one of them. I was at a park with my friends and I chucked my pixel 6 at the grass nearby a concrete sidewalk, it hit the sidewalk. I was fucking scared and found that it somehow wasn't scratched. I'm definitely hoping that Apple actually makes their iPhones more durable. • @toiartu
      @toiartu 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

I think it is the screen. Flat screen pixels use hard OLEDs that are way more fragile than soft oleds when it comes to impact damage while soft oleds are much more fragile when it comes to impaling damage like when you crack your display and shards enter the screen. Also a hard oled can crack without the glass getting damaged and will be black showing no signs of life. (I know that because this happened to my note 2 a few years ago. Now I use a pixel 6a that also has a hard oled display but i haven't had any problems with it yet.) Also one more thing:
A damaged soft oled will have a dark spot and a line on the screen. While the screen will work for some time after an unknown amount of time the part below the line will start glitching or it will become white.
For pixel phones I recommend buying the display from ifixit because it is officialy sold by google on there and it is usually cheaper than anywhere else. If you then don't know how to repair it yourself try finding a repair shop that can use the display you bought and fix it.

Is it just me, or does it seem like smartphones are getting more expensive yet less durable at the same time?

@@lucastillej0 Thank you for your reply. I keep a tempered glass screen protector on my phone and keep it in a protective case, so I’m not about to test my observation personally. I do know that as they make the glass more scratch resistant, it becomes more fragile and prone to breaking when dropped. Personally I would rather have a screen that scratches more easily but is more durable (and put a screen protector on it), than a phone that shatters when dropped from waist height. I guess the steadily rising price increase of smartphones is all in my head too, so I apologize for that. Have a great day!

@@lucastillej0 Yeah, the advances in technology increase so quickly, I guess it's difficult to determine a fair price. After smartphones passed the $1,000 threshold, the prices seem to jump all over the place.

It's because the 13 pro max is heavier than the 12 pro max as the 13 has a larger battery.

Anyone else see the dent in the corner test on the iPhone? He doesn't mention it and says the pixel just has heavier scuffs. I'd would say it's a tie seeing pixel has heavier scuffs but didn't dent. And the iPhone dented and had smaller scuffs.

The iphone back glass didn´t get worse because you, in a sneaky way, turned around the phone for the corner drop to ensure the already-cracked back side was away from the impacted corner. You always drop them to the bottom corner, but in this round decided to get the iphone to fall on its upper corner. Deceitful.

Keep in mind the pixel is going to absolutely turn black and start being completely unusable. I've had this phone since release and I've had the replace the screen through regular hip elevation drops at least three times and at this point I don't want to fix it I just want a new phone since it cost about $200 per repair at this point it's just worth getting a new phone
