    Throughout the tests, the one thing I continuously notice with the Samsung is that it doesn't bounce nearly as much as the apple phone. It just shows that a good portion of the force is redirected back into the iphone which shows that the samsung is more flexible and efficient at absorbing shock. • @insertnamehere8723
    @insertnamehere8723 ปีที่แล้ว +11

    The problem with phone glass is trading off scratch resistance for shock durability as you can either have glass more resistant to drops (I.e. that has more flex before shattering and is "softer") or one that is more cosmetically resistant but more brittle, albeit denser. Basically, it's a choice between softer or harder glass at an atomic level which is why you tend to see screen protectors able to bend so far before cracking. A balance would be nice but at the end of the day it's still glass. Personally the iPhone is a nice balance of the two with ceramic shield and decent scratch resistance but otherwisw the issue generally tends to be thst these phones glass scratches easier and is annoying and something that can impact drop resistence as it introduces a potential point of failure over time, let alone the many variable between each drop that kinda make these tests pointless.

    • @Keepgoing9919
      @Keepgoing9919 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    This doesn’t mean only Apple will break in drop test. I’ve seen in someone’s post, S23 Ultra broken when accidentally dropped. As Zack says “Glass is glass, and it’ll break”. Better to use a case always, irrespective of the phones we’re using 😊

    David, here's a way to make more revenue.
    Have case makers pay you a fee for testing their case and certifying it.
    In the test you would perform a 2 back drops, a corner drop, and 2 face drops onto concrete from 10ft (or whatever they choose to certify it from). Then give list of all cases that are certified (no damage to the phone whatsoever).
    Either that or start doing extreme drop tests with cases on (20ft or higher) with each type of drop.
