    I've been into the bartending branch for a while now, but working in a resort cocktail-lounge has actually kept me from having any idea on what is a good espresso or how to make a great cappuccino/latte art. Or in short, I had no idea about hot drinks. Until I recently started working in a café in the centrum of the city I live in. I'm learning really quick how to make various Rosettas and a big part of this is thanks to you. I appreciate your work and professionalism. Keep it up.
    But I have one question, why do you periodically pour some of the milk from one of the pitchers to another one? Does it have something to do with sustaining the foam? Or you do it to make it less thick?
    Thanks in advance!

    Outstanding talent! From an orthopedic point of view, I would recommand to lower your coffee machine a little bit or work on an elevated floor platform because over 40 years old, repetitive abduction of the shoulder over 60 degrees can lead to shoulder bursitis and repetitive abduction or flexion of the shoulder above 90 degrees can lead to rotator cuff tear. Particularly the supraspinatus. I would recommend putting 10 cm stools on the floor so you work with your shoulders a bit lowered. Very talented barista. Now I feel like getting some of those coffees this morning. Great work!!

If you are this quick and you love your work so much, for your milk, If you have a big back yard you can have a couple of cows in a barn to keep you going throughout the whole day? At least the grass dose not need trimming. That can save you money on oil and petrol. If I get too experienced I may need a couple of cows myself. I know you have to pay them for milking them also, ah, is it safe.

    How does the milk have air introduced, but not too much, if the wand just sits at the one spot?!

    • @dritanalsela
      @dritanalsela  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Donald, if you have a steamer with enough pressure (1,5bar) then that is enough to introduce enough air :)

    • @donskeeze
      @donskeeze 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@dritanalsela Thanks for the reply! I'm a beginner, and I'm constantly making my milk too foamy, so I've been trying to find the balance with introducing air.

    i know this is an old video but i just like to say, as a barista my self once you get a pattern , you can make coffee for at least 10 hours( with a small 15 min break of eating/drinking) , the important thing to remember is the making of the foam and keeping it well united to get that creamy texture , the shape making comes with exp, the right tilt and control of the Milk jug comes with good hand coordination , and that's about it for the most part, my motto is "Keep Focus And Have Fun" ;D
    p.s.
    the clear note that this is only for practice is that you don't get costumers close to you, (for TA) baristas don't just make coffee, they make shakes and a bunch of other ingredients evolving them ( does not have to include alcohol beverages) also in the cakes department of art as well ;D

    Thanks in advance👌🏼✌🏼

      I work Starbucks, for our standard hot beverages we use green Milk as it is the perfect consistency for steaming latte milk. If you use red it tends to bubble up, and you DONT want that, you need smoothe, foamy and light milk because it sits on top perfectly. If you use blue milk it tends to look pretty for a couple of seconds and then it falls and ruins it.
      For latte steamed milk you need to airate the milk(as you know) but slowly bring the milk jug down to the end of the steamer. The second and I mean the second you hear a louder bubbling bring the milk straight back up and leave it to finish steaming. Once it's done remove and tap or bash the jug on the side to get rid of bubbles is there are some and swivels the jug to make sure it's all the same consistency. And you've mastered that bit!
      The rest comes with practise!😊

    • @dritanalsela
      @dritanalsela  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi there :) I use whole fresh milk with 3.5% fat content. The fat isn't important though, just the technique. You could use any kind of milk. Do you think your steamer has enough power though? 'cause that does play a role for sure as you want to get a nice silky microfoam as kindly explaines by Kitkat29702 :)

    Why do you pour the milk between the jugs every now and then?

    • @dritanalsela
      @dritanalsela  6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hey mate, to make sure that the foam doesn‘t separate from the milk but keeps nicely blended. Plus, that way I control the amount of foam I take to make the drinks, which is important if you to make two drinks that need different kind of foam level. Hope this explains it

    He is cheating though cos the milk is throthing itself he just lets the steam in!!! He is not having to stand holding the jug
    And yes I am kinda jelous..I can do perfect heart on any drink any milk (also skimmed and alternative milks) but am trying to learn other fun pictures as well just now
    The woman in the background is annoying with her remarks-just zip it! This requires a lot of concentration so..🤐
    And btw who is gonna drink all those lattes??? Also makes me wonder what blend of coffee beans do they use cos when he freshly pours the coffee it has a lovely light brown crema but once sitting on the desk for a minute it turns veey very dark brown.. our coffee beans never do that..

      I always do re-cool the steamed milk, and when it's cold I'll do a 50-50 mix of fresh and cold milk. I find that it works pretty much the same as 100% fresh both in terms of foam quality and flavor

      My pleasure...I enjoyed your series of videos. I actually returned the Fresnch Press I bought because I the coffee would get cold fast. So I bought a double walled French press...fort of like a "thermos" made og glass. And now I "pump" my organic whole non-homogenized milk in it and it keeps the froth nice n hot! One question: Is the latte supposed to be just coffee and milk or is it sweetned?
