Wow! What a terrific performance. I enjoyed it very much. The interplay between Daniel and Julian made the piece so exciting. I could hear and understand many of the musical gestures - the piece came alive for me. Superb musicians - flautist and pianist. Thank you for sharing.
Terrific and beautiful, both Flutist and Pianist, with this strong energye and sometimes this strange and charming tone this piece of music. it gives the the wish to work it again but it is so hard and i do not work my Flute like i did younger..i remember it, the Sound of your Flute and how you play it is beautiful, i have a all silver sankyo Flute but i am looking for a warmer wooden Flute, thank you for sharing
I have a rudall, nickel silver mechanism, Monel lining in the head joint and cocuswood head and body, it might not be the top of the range but its something I wouldn't dream of trading in for anything, really enjoying your performances, lets me know what the flutes are capable of. Thanks, From Sam K, Lancashire
I love your interpretation of this piece, one of my favorites! What are the differences between the flutes you use for movements 1&3 vs. movements 2&4? I love the expressive tone colors of the flute you play in the first and third movements. Is it also an older Rudall Carte flute? What type of head joint? Thank you for sharing this performance, it is lovely.
Thanks Danny. Stunning playing and a great interpretation of a masterwork. Still in love with your beautiful wooden flute. I remember playing it back in the London Flutes days , and I almost fell on the floor after blowing one note on it. ❤ where is that beautiful salon?
Hi Gary, Thanks for this and sorry for such. Late reply! The salon I’m playing in is Mansfield Street London, formerly the home of Bob Boas. It’s an amazing space and they let me use it! Check out my Romeo and Juliet arrangement, soon to be published.Best wishes, Daniel
This man has convinced me to pick my flute back up
Gorgeous ❤

I think it’s the same flute with different head joints. I read that he uses Bigio head joints.
