    Sweet video Wayne, after all the talking we did back and forth, ( hey everyone let me just add Wayne was a tremendous help to me answering countless questions about charging systems and OBC's thanks Wayne) i decided to go with the Summit on board we were talking about, i can always turn it in to a stand alone, if i want to buy the Club Car cord later, after your next video i will know how to bypass the OBC, thanks much, i will be anticipating the next video, i am going to my place where the golf cart is located next week, i will let you know how everything goes with the onboard

    Love the video in terms of where the OBC is located. I have a 2005 DS and I think the OBC has died 😢 . I have a 20 Amp charger for 4 x 12v sealed batteries from out of China 🇨🇳 they have worked really well for $1500 nz dollars 👍thanks for sharing. I think by passing the obc is a little technical for me. So I will see if I can purchase and up graded obc as per video. Cheers from NZ

      on your cart , the obc is located up high, behind the batteries.
      Also if you have sealed batteries, and not deep cycle lead acid batteries, usually those won't last more than 2 years, sorry, they are a bad idea.

    I have a 2006 CLUB CAR with OBC and I plan to bypass the OBC. It came with a PowerDrive2 charger.
    I plan to buy the Summit Series II, 36-48V Auto Ranging Voltage 13-18A, CC Power Drive w/o OBC.
    Will this charger work for me? Thank you

      Elton did you ever get your cart running? I been home recovering from back surgery, so not much lifting or bending, so videos have slowed down.

    I would like to see you replace an ODC I have a 2000 Club Car DS can you help me replace the computer or show me how to do it thank you I found your video is very interesting

      There are only 2 screws holding the obc in, easy to change. I do have videos showing how to do a bypass, but if you do a bypass, you need to get a different charger.

    Hi Wayne, is it ok to leave the batteries on the charger if you remove the motor for a couple of weeks

    Have you had any requests for battery balancers? I have a 2004 with 4x12 batteries and have added a balancer. But I have friends with newer models and I haven't found a 6x8 volt balancer

    • @waynemartin.waynesgolfcart4900
      @waynemartin.waynesgolfcart4900  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The only battery balancers i ever saw, was some resistors that a guy made with specific tolerances.
      Very few people worry about or even heard of balancing batteries.

    is it better to replace the obc or bypass it??

    • @waynemartin.waynesgolfcart4900
      @waynemartin.waynesgolfcart4900  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Depends individually.
      I like to bypass them. That way you get a new charger, you will never have another obc problem, and you can sell your old charger for 100-150 bucks.
      But some people like to have everything like it was from the factory.

    How do I determine if my obc is bad? The charger kicks on and off like normal. I got on my cart yesterday and nothing is working like I have no power to it when I turn the key on. I checked my batteries and they all seem good

    • @waynemartin.waynesgolfcart4900
      @waynemartin.waynesgolfcart4900  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not an easy answer. Need more info
      What year and model cart?
      How old are the batteries?
      Has it been sitting unused for awhile?
      Did this happen over night?
      Is tow switch in run?

    • @adamgaskin9464
      @adamgaskin9464 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@waynemartin.waynesgolfcart4900 yes sir it's in run and it happened over night. It's a 2006 club car ds. Iv been trouble shooting on it all day and all batteries are good. Charger is kicking on and seems to be changing per normal. But when I turn the key on I get absolutely nothing. No solenoid click. No back up alarm no nothing.

    • @waynemartin.waynesgolfcart4900
      @waynemartin.waynesgolfcart4900  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Could be wiring, bad key switch, bad operating system.
      Get your Volt tester and start at the battery, and start ringing and following wires.
      See if you blew a fuse

    • @adamgaskin9464
      @adamgaskin9464 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Do you think it. Could be solenoid?

    • @waynemartin.waynesgolfcart4900
      @waynemartin.waynesgolfcart4900  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      yes it could be, but before you start throwing parts at it, why not test stuff with a meter?
      See if you get pack voltage to 1 side of the solenoid?
      Remove the resistor, then see if you get pack voltage to other big terminal.
      See if you get control voltage to the small terminals on the solenoid
      Voltage to and thru the key switch?
      Are the batteries fully charged?
