Thank you so much for sharing this. My husband bought a golf cart with a large dump bed in back to help load yard debris and dump it. When it started to crawl like a turtle, especially going up hill, I was afraid to trust taking it down our wooded trails. When my husband viewed this, he ordered the part for twenty something and today he put it on. Immediately the cart was back to normal speeds. What a blessing as compared to sending it to a cart repair shop. God bless you!
I can’t tell you enough how much I appreciate this video. I purchased a 2012 club cart and the owner said it needs new batteries because it’s extremely slow. But I noticed my reverse was super fast. I was getting about 7 mph going fwd. After seeing this video I went on Amazon got what I needed and replaced the sensor. 20mph now. Batteries are good saved $1500
Thanks Wayne. You’re a genius! 2013 Club Car Precedent starting running at half speed. Tried your diagnostic speed test and it failed - cart did not slow down and no reverse buzzer. Replaced speed sensor - back to normal speed. Thanks again.
I replaced the speed sensor in my 2013 club car precedent and it still bucks when I first start to drive off, also seems like if I go at the slightest incline it's slower? Never was like that before?Any ideas
Thanks for your video. I got this exact issue with my Club Car. New batteries, but do not want to run faster than 8 miles pr hour. Great help in this video.
Hello Wayne, I enjoy watching your videos, recently I start having issues with my 1997 Club Car DS I remove some pars to paint the body, after done with paint put everything back the way it was then the car do not go forward or reverse, not sure why doesn’t move anymore, before the paint was working without issues, can may be able to help? Thank you.
Thank you that helped me out greatly. My golf cart went from 16 miles an hour down to 8 miles an hour exactly like what you said. And now I know how to fix it , thanks again
Hello Wayne you are my go to person, If I disable the OBC or On Board Computer on my 2006 Club Car Precedent, can I use a LINKS Series charger EPS by Lester Electric to charge my cart?
Each club car controller has 4 codes programmed into it from the factory. With a scanner, the first 3 codes can be unlocked for free. You have to pay club car to get the unlock code for code 4.
Great video on the speed sensor. Quick question - My Club car, all new customize but on a 2011 frame, had a great top speed above 26MPHs. The magnet/ speed sensor went bad and needed to be replaced. Now my cart won’t go pass 20 MPH. Could the sensor be wrong? Or do I need to have the speed code re set to 5. To reset it do I need to purchase a new private speed code kit?
Was the 'groove' in the speed sensor actually 'carved out' of the inside speed sensor wall, or was it just discolored? The reason I ask, is that you have to ask yourself - What is rubbing on the wall to carve out the groove? Obviously, it's the round magnet that's rubbing against the wall. Which begs the question - Is putting on a new speed sensor the LONG TERM answer to the rubbing problem, or is the magnet just going to continue carving out another groove on the new sensor? To my way of thinking, there is something mis-aligned between the sensor 'cap' and the whirling/turning magnet that is allowing it to rub against the wall and carve out the groove.
Mr. Wayne, I just wanted to thank you for sharing this video which fixed my problem. You were right on twice. 1) the sensor 2) after market parts. The first sensor I bought did not work and the second one did. Thank you, Sir !
We were working on a 91 club car one cylinder 4-stroke and there's a hose that comes from the carb to somewhere any ideas looks like it should go to the crankcase. I did find out if you plug the hose it won't start.
Great video Wayne! I have a 2007 club car ds and when I'm going down a steep hill the cart will go faster than it is supposed to and then all of a sudden it seems like the speed sensor will engage and the wheels lock up for a brief second and then the speed sensor starts working. Have you seen anything like this and do you have a recommendation?
There is somewhat of a "governor " on your cart, so when you go down hill, the cart will slow down , to keep the speed from going to fast, then once it slows to the programmed speed, the accelerator will kick back in. This is normal for a club car, and is not the speed sensor.
@@waynemartin.waynesgolfcart4900 Thanks thanks thanks for the info. It is a little shocking when it does it because it throws you forward for a second before reengaging. Now I have a winding whistling noise coming from my rear axle area when I drive it. I had someone look at it because I thought it might be the bearings, but he checked them and they seem fine. You wouldnt happen to have had this happen in your travels, would you?
@@waynemartin.waynesgolfcart4900 Wayne, Just one more question on this rear axle. The rech working on my cart wants to put a different rear axle in my cart for $350. If its not the bearings (he said they look fine) should I have him replace the axle? Thank you again for taking the time. You are a blessing!
Hi Wayne. We were just given a 94 club car precedent the guy said it wouldn’t run it’s a really clean machine and I took the spark plug out and it was the blackest most carboned up spark plug I’ve ever seen even going across the electrode I cleaned it up and it fired right up. We are ecstatic. We took it around the neighborhood a few times and it blows a good amount of light blue smoke when we’re really on it but not much at idle. Do you think that’s buildup of carbon in the cylinder like we saw on the plug or do we have a different issue I should look into. The gas is likely old but I did clean the carburetor. Thank you for your channel and your time. Oh and it seems kinda slow, going to gps it tonight to see where the speed is at.
Ok, you do Not have a precedent, They didn't start making those till 2004. If you have a 94 then you have a DS model. And unfortunately I do not work on gas golf carts so I'm not much help sorry. You can contact David and revolution golf cars.com, And he can probably help you
Wayne, I have a 2018 club car precedent. The car hesitates, going forward, but in reverse it seems like it does fine. When going up a slight incline, the cart struggles. I measured the voltage in my batteries and there is five batteries that have 8 V exactly and one has 6.57 V. This is a 48 V system. I have charged the car several times, and nothing changes as far as the voltage on the batteries, is there a way to reset the charging system? Or do you think it’s a bad battery? By the way, I forgot to take it out of run mode and charge the batteries will that mess the charging system up?
The mode doesn't matter when charging. Your issue is the bad battery for sure. Also do not install just 1 new battery, either install all new or replace with a used battery.
Hey bud....thank You very much for your video on the sensor----changed it today on my cart----problem solved! I was gonna call the cart place that I bought it from til I saw the video----you helped me save at least a couple of hundred dollars minimum....Thx again
Wayne that was a great video. My 2011 Club Car Pesedent is jerky when taking off. It's not so bad at high speed. I checked each battery and they are good. Don't seem to have the speed it should have.
It could be, if cart used to run fine in forward. When you say slow, is it more than 8mph? If your reverse buzzer works, do the push test to see if the speed sensor is good.
So I'm having to replace components on my 2005 Fairplay 48V. It has an OEM Curtis controller 1244-5451, 400amp ....a DC Motor Mod XQ3.8, 48V, 60min. Shunt, 40' C, Class H with NO speed sensor....The replacement motor ordered has the speed sensor connector....do I plug that in to the existing controller somewhere....or just leave it unplugged ??? Is a new controller in my future ?? if Yes, what is the replacement ??? DC motor arriving today. Thank you !! Do U have 2005 Fairplay parts ??
@kormidoit6709 no I don't have parts for that cart. Why are you replacing parts ? Instead of trying to find different parts, why don't you send that motor back, and buy a complete kit, like a navitas , that has everything and all parts are matched ?
Excellent video. I have an '06 CC Precident electric. My problem is the cart will not move every time I push the accelerator. It might take several pushes to get it to go aand now it won't go at all, forward or reverse. I have new batteries, good charge. I put a speed magnet on it about 5 years ago to improve speed. I don't know it that affects it, but, do you have a cure for me to try? Thanks
Definitely sounds like the mcor needs replacing. You can open up the floor, and pull the 2 wire connector off the mcor. Then take a paper clip, and bend it like a U. Then push the clip into the 2 holes in the loose connector, and try driving the cart, to see if it is any better
Thanks to your video I fixed my cart by changing the Mccor module. The cart now suddenly stops while in motion just like I was applying the brakes I just push back on the pedal and goes back in motion, would a new feed sensor fix the problem?
@@waynemartin.waynesgolfcart4900 yes I did, the new Mcor fix the jerking. The sudden stop was doing it with my old Mcor 2 weeks before I received and change to the new one. Does the sudden stop related to the Mcor module?
When you say it stops, Are you saying it will lose all power? Or are you saying when you take your foot off the pedal the brake kicks in and slows down and eventually stopped Or are you saying when you take your foot off the pedal the brake kicks in and slows down and eventually stopped? If you lose all power, it could be a loose connection, a bad mcor , a bad forward reverse switch, a bad micro switch inside the M core, or brushes in the motor, or even the controller.
My 2008 club car goes for a few feet and stops. It does this in reverse as well. I put it up on Jack stands and discovered that it will run at low speed but when I increase the throttle it stops spinning the tires. I recently replace the MCOR. Any ideas, I have a speed sensor but what you describe here doesn't fit the carts behavior. Is there a speed brake jake break kind of thing on golf carts? What do you think.
Thank you sir, today I took my dog for a ride in my 2011 Club Car (just like the one in this video I mean identical) and it would only go about half the speed it normally goes). Glad I searched and found your video, THANKS!!!!!
Great video and always informative, I have a question, my 48v cart will go on forward just fine but it will below a fuse on reverse after like 10 seconds on running on reverse, it’s about the same speed with and without the speed sensor connected (cart is jacked) and checked all wires for short and couldn’t find any, lights and wipers work, reverse buzzer don’t work. It’s a Zone EV that’s very similar to 2013 TXT in build, I replaced the solenoid with a brand new one of the same that was on it (Curtis heaven duty) and it also has a Curtis sep excited controller, any help with the blown fuse issue I’d much appreciate it … thank you in advance
@@waynemartin.waynesgolfcart4900 thank you for the replay, jacked meant off the the ground, It just blows the fuse when it’s going on return. I am suspected the solenoid as I am getting a code “main contactor open” I have a Curtis heavey duty solenoid, does it have to have diodes or resistors on it? What do you is causing the 10 amp fuse to pop
Ok first you should never run the motor at full speed when cart is jacked up, only quickly push on go pedal to engage the motor enough to spin, you will burn the motor up. Next, yes the solenoid should have a resistor and a diode on it. Reverse should be half speed, not full speed, so you may have something wired wrong.
Wayne, love the videos. I have a 2008 Club Car DS that was modified to street legal 20+mph in 2014. I installed a lithium battery, on-board charger, and 12v converter. Since installation, all accessories work, but the cart won't move. The OBC was removed and blue/white wires on harness were butt connected. The solenoid does not click when the pedal is depressed. Replaced the solenoid and still no click. Not sure what to do. I have a Curtis 1510A-2150 controller. I check all inputs to the controller and they read 53 volts. Any recommendations?
@@waynemartin.waynesgolfcart4900 I have voltage at the solenoid and MCOR clicks when I move pedal. All voltage inputs to the controller were tested and measured battery voltage. I even put a new MCOR and solenoid with same result.
The mcor will click anytime you step on it, doesn't mean you have voltage there. So if you put your volt meter leads both on the solenoid small terminals, and turn key on, in forward, when you step on go pedal do you have 48 volts on these 2 small terminals?
Your problem is you are not getting a negative to the solenoid. I bet if you run a temporary jumper wire from that small solenoid negative tab to the main battery pack negative, the cart will move.
Great video- I will subscribe. In reading the comments I see some similar to mine in that it stops abruptly while I'm accelerating, particularly while still cold and also if there are multiple riders. You've mentioned mcor pardon my ignorance, but what exactly is mcor? and do you think it's what I need? It goes slow (probably about 8 mph) which I don't mind because my grandkids love to drive it. Thanks for your help!
Mcor is the Motor Controller Output Regulator. It is what sends the voltage command from the pedal to the controller. It is the most common issue with club cars. You can tell by the hesitation you feel when stepping on the pedal. If your cart starts out fast, then immediately drops and stays at 8mph, then that indicates the speed sensor or magnet. Turn key on, put in forward, then get out and push the cart. If it starts to resist and slow down, and the reverse buzzer starts beeping, then the sensor is GOOD.
Will a faulty speed sensor cause the cart to run significantly slower on an uphill grade? Seems to work fine on flat and downhill surfaces, but drops significantly on even a minor uphill grade.
@@waynemartin.waynesgolfcart4900 Thanks! So, even though there is no jerking and the batteries are relatively new, you'd lean towards the MCOR being the culprit? Is there anything else to look for or test? Great videos!
Under load, the cart is trying to pull or push more amps through the system. Club cars have something I will call a governor, that kicks in when going down hills and won't allow it to go more than 11-14 mph, until motor catches up with the demand. Going up hill , the motor demand might be more than the controller can process .
Well done video. Any idea why my Yamaha G 16 E would intermittently stop accelerating? I just put a new motor in it. First few times I tried it would not move in reverse. Then It was fine for a few miles but now it will intermittently stop forward progress and I just coast to a stop. If I wait a few seconds and maybe flip it back to neutral and push the pedal a few times it will go again. Connections all seem good. I can hear the Oh I can hear the solenoid clicking when I press the pedal
@@waynemartin.waynesgolfcart4900 well I hope not! Although I wouldn’t mind a little more speed. I just bought a new higher speed motor for this old Yammy and gained almost 4mph and good bit more torque. What controller do you recommend (if it’s the controller) and do you have any?
Hey Wayne hope all is well, I watched your video on the speed sensor and thought maybe that was my problem but I don't have that I believe you called it a top hat sensor. Do you have a video on the other kind of sensor. That's question number one, question number two is in watching some other videos a guy disconnected his solenoid that has the big resistor coil on it it's like 5 in diameter Maybe six Loops or so. According to him if that solenoid goes bad that coil gets hot as hell. Well I just moved my golf cart no more than 30 ft and that coil was hot as hell, to where I couldn't keep my hand on it. I trust you way more than the other guy especially since he just bypassed that solenoid. So I'm wondering if there's another video of yours that I can watch so far I haven't seen one. All your help is greatly appreciated thank you in advance. Larry
First off, do you have 3 wires sticking out of the end of your motor? Next, do you have 2 solenoids? For some reason you did not tell me what year your car is , which would have helped, instead of making me guess. You also did not say whether or not you have a problem, just that you can't touch a part that is hot?? Does your cart run or not?
@@waynemartin.waynesgolfcart4900 hi Wayne sorry about my mishap. I do have three wires coming out of the end of the motor. I'm not sure about the two solenoids definitely one in the center there's a it looks like a solid state box and to the left there may be a second solenoid with a big coiled up wire attached. The golf cart really is not running at all in reverse, when I moved it forward it only went about 15 ft very slowly I tried to back down the grade and had to have it pushed. I'm going to try to attach a picture but don't know if that'll work. Also I believe it's an 01 golf cart based on the warning label on the dashboard. There's a number that ends with a dash 01. The serial number is A 9829. 67618
Hi Wayne it's Larry again attaching the photos didn't work on TH-cam. Do you have an email, or a number I can text to? Want you to know all your help is greatly appreciated. You're a saint
Great video. My cart didn't drop to 8 mph, but it does slow down significantly after cruising for a bit. Was told this is the solution, got the new sensor and magnet to put on now. Subscribed, thanks for making the video
Wayne, I have a 2016 club car that I just bought a couple of months ago. Since then it has started to act up a bit. When I accelerate, sometimes, the cart will kind of skip or jerk and get slower. The cart has a speed magnet and has top speed of 20 mph. Any thoughts on what may be going on? Thanks!
Is there a way to get a speed code changed to 4 or 5 without going to a dealer? Or could I put a newer speed magnet on the cart to increase speed. Cart currently goes about 13-14mph and wanting to get to around 18-20mph. Thanks for help love the videos
If you have a club car, usually newer than about 2001, the controller was programmed at the factory, with 4 speed codes. Anyone with the correct type of scanner, could unlock or change between the first 3 speeds. To get to code 4 , which is 19.6 mph, you need to pay club car, for the code 4 code. Once you have that level 4 code, then with the correct scanner, the controller can be unlocked and cart should then go 19.6. Certain types of motors, on certain models of club cars, you can change the magnet to get more speed.
Wayne you rock. Just bought my first Club Car Precedent. Slow... Did the MCOR and speed sensor. went from 6 to 16-17mph. Keep up the good work. I like how you tell us what size tool your using. Time saver. I do have a question, the cart rattles, mostly in reverse with torc, but sometimes in forward under pressure...? Wheel bearing? Drum?
Could be a wheel bearing. If you jack the rear of cart of, and hit the go pedal, and it doesn't make that noise, but when you put weight in cart ( sitting in it), and you then hear it, probably is a wheel bearing. It's hard to know what a person describes as rattling.
I Wayne I am a new subscriber I had a question for you. I have an older model easy go When I try to go up a Hill it goes down to like one miles an hour. What would you Suggest is the problem. Thank you in advance
Always look at the batteries first. You may have a weak or bad one. You need to fully charge them, then hook a voltage tester to each individual battery, 1 at a time while going up hill. Do this first
Good day Sir....recently watched this video which gave me great confidence that my cart has the same problem...but I just replaced the speed sensor and magnet....the problem remains. Holding the accelerator say mid way....the speed surges....never cutting out 100% but fluctuating at pretty steady intervals....every 3-4 seconds. Any recommendations sir?
@@waynemartin.waynesgolfcart4900 You're gentleman and a true professional! I just watched your video on replacing the mcor and I see where you figure 20 minutes to replace! Much MUCH appreciated! From McGregor, Ontario, Canada
Not all ds carts have speed sensors. If your does, the only difference in changing that from changing a sensor on a precedent, is the the GE sensor is flat and is not screwed in, you just pry it out with a screw driver, and remove the 1 screw that is clipping the wires.
@@waynemartin.waynesgolfcart4900 thank you for the info it is greatly appreciated! Does the motor need to be out of the cart to also change the magnet? Or is it possible to do with the motor still in the cart?
All carts are gonna slow going up a hill. If yours is so slow it bearly makes it, it could be too much weight, older or weak batteries, big tires making controller work too hard, or your controller is not big enough.
Our club car that we just bought used has a speed issue from start. You put your foot barely on the gas and it burns rubber. Would that be this or theMCOR?

I have a 2016 club car prec. When driving it on a flat road with the pedal all the way to the floor, I can feel slight speed fluctuations while driving. Have you seen this before? If so what is a possible remedy?? It’s a noticeable drop in speed and then it speeds back up.
Wayne, I have a 05 club car electric cart. It was running great then …. Unplugged charger and put in reverse, drove 4 feet shuttered slightly then stopped. Can hear pedal solenoid click and hear the solenoid between batteries as well. "??
Check batteries first. You may have 1 or more that are bad. Verify the voltage of each battery, before charging and during charging, and tell me those numbers, then we can go from there. Since you didn't say what model cart you have, I will guess that it is a ds.
Andy, sorry I can't figure out what you are saying or telling me with your last words ?? Also, you can't have exactly 12 volts, there has to be a decimal point in the readings, like 12.6, 11.7, etc. And I asked for individual battery numbers.

I would venture to say first, that you probably bought a speed magnet, and a speed magnet won't work on your cart. That is what probably happened, besides that, also, if your cart has always been slow, and you are trying to speed it up, then the sensor and magnet will not help, that is not your issue.
@@waynemartin.waynesgolfcart4900 Thank you for responding. My cart is programmed at the highest speed (3). It should be going at least 13 MPH. It is in "limp mode" right now. It is stuck in "limp mode" and only goes 8 mph and I can't figure out why.
If it sounds when pushing, the sensor is good. Your magnet may be cracked or broke. You cannot buy a oem magnet on line, anywhere. The only magnets you can buy online are speed magnets, and they should not work for you if your cart is an excel.
Hi my cart works great however, when I put my lights on and push the accelerator the lights go out . When I take my foot off the accelerator the lights come back on. What could be the problem. This only happens when driving the crt. with the power on.

my precedent has 22in tires an has dropped down to 11 mph does that sound like this could be the issue.....I also have a plumquick bandit motor.....my normal top speed is 25
Only of reverse buzzer works, tow switch in run, in forward, key on, brake off, push cart about 8 feet and see if cart resists and if buzzer stats beeping

I see another solenoid that was right next to the solenoid that is mounted up and down. this other solenoid seems to lay vertical. I am not sure what needs to be replaced.
You need to get a voltage tester and start at the batteries, thru the key switch, thru pedal etc, to the solenoid, and see if you have voltage going thru the solenoid.
Thanks for this, Now I feel like a know something, the previous video I watched didn't even show where the electric motor was. And yes I need to know that. :)

@@waynemartin.waynesgolfcart4900 sorry to bother you again. I decided to remove the aftermarket faster magnet and install the magnet that came with the speed sensor. When I turn the key to off Position and back to the on position it will go back to running faster. I am at loss now what could be my issue. Thanks again for al your help.
I noticed the speed sensor does not have a seal. While I cannot prove it true or not, without a seal, moisture and fine debris can find a way to get inside. Hall sensors are solid state devices, and they should not simply "go bad". What is likely the cause is dirt, moisture is getting inside that sensor housing because there is no seal. And that would cause problems with the sensor picking up a proper signal at all the RPM ranges of the magnet. Rather than replacing this sensor, I would try to blow out (low pressure compressed air to be safe) any debris, squirt some contact cleaner (WD makes a good one for cheap that is also applicable to MAF sensors of ICE engines!), and then put the sensor back in and test it out. If it works, that is the root cause of the problems...just dirt or moisture or debris under that sensor and around the magnet. If it does work after cleaning it, I would apply some RTV silicone gasket sealer all the way the facing surfaces, but lightly so it does not goop up inside the sensor magnet space! This would prevent future water and dirt from entering and that should take care of it. I do lots of field repairs on a wide range of equipment. preventative maintenance keeps my gear running in top shape. The lack of a seal for that sensor is probably the reason for "sensor failure"...or it could be a bad sensor from a bad design where the hall effect sensor was not engineered for durability and long life. (which tends to be common with equipment manufacturers these days..sigh). When I do preventative maintenance, I look at every possible way to protect sensors from getting fouled. This looks like a good candidate to try that out rather than just slapping in a new sensor. jmho

I replaced the magnet as well like you have recommended others to do so. It runs at 15mph when it wants to. Lol! Batteries maybe? Or do you recommend replacing the speed sensor again and if so, which one do you use?
If your cart normally runs at 15 mph, but now won't go over 8 mph, then yes replace both the magnet and the speed sensor, but only use a oem sensor. If you have done that, and cart still drops to 8 mph( and it use to be faster),: and if your batteries are good and fully charged, you may have to replace the controller
You need a scanner to tell that. But if your carr is going no faster than 11 moh, it's speed 1, no faster than 14, that's 2, code 3 should get you to about 17, code 4 to 19.6.
I have a 2005 Club Car Precedent. When starting off, it's very jerky, like it has power, then none and get's it back. Still travels full speed. Any idea what could be causing that?
might be the mcor. Have you ever replaced it? Turn the key off, then stomp on the go pedal , real hard about 10 times. Then turn key on and drive, see if it got better temporarily?
I would look at the mcor first. Try turning key off, then stomp the go pedal up and down to the floor, about 10 times. Then drive cart, and see if it temporarily improves. I would guess mcor.
👏👍
I can’t tell you enough how much I appreciate this video. I purchased a 2012 club cart and the owner said it needs new batteries because it’s extremely slow. But I noticed my reverse was super fast. I was getting about 7 mph going fwd. After seeing this video I went on Amazon got what I needed and replaced the sensor. 20mph now. Batteries are good saved $1500
That's what I like to hear! Great job 👏
Thanks Wayne. You’re a genius! 2013 Club Car Precedent starting running at half speed. Tried your diagnostic speed test and it failed - cart did not slow down and no reverse buzzer. Replaced speed sensor - back to normal speed. Thanks again.
Awesome 👍
I replaced the speed sensor in my 2013 club car precedent and it still bucks when I first start to drive off, also seems like if I go at the slightest incline it's slower? Never was like that before?Any ideas
My first thought is you may have 1 or more weak or bad batteries. I would do a load test on the batteries, before you spend any more money.
Thank you! Great video on changing out a speed sensor... should I replace the magnet as well?
I would only change the magnet, if it is giving you trouble.
@@waynemartin.waynesgolfcart4900 thank you Wayne... so when I change out the speed control... should the magnet be ok...?
Should be unless you see that it is cracked.
Thanks for your video. I got this exact issue with my Club Car. New batteries, but do not want to run faster than 8 miles pr hour. Great help in this video.
Good, I hope you get it fixed👍
Hello sir. Is there anything I can do to make a 36V, electric, 98 ezgo txt go faster? Thanks!
Bigger motor or bigger controller or convert it to 48 volt.
Thank you.
Sounds for sure like you have not hooked a wire back up, that was hooked up before.
Thank you that helped me out greatly.
My golf cart went from 16 miles an hour down to 8 miles an hour exactly like what you said.
And now I know how to fix it , thanks again

Hello Wayne you are my go to person, If I disable the OBC or On Board Computer
on my 2006 Club Car Precedent, can I use a
LINKS Series charger EPS by Lester Electric
to charge my cart?
no, it needs the obc to function.
You can use a summit2 charger
Hi Wayne, you mentioned there was a code from the golf cart, how and what did you use to get the code?
Thanks you solved a few of my problem ..... It's great that you take time to show people
Nice, Thank you.
Nice 👍
Wheel bearings, motor, or input shaft bearing

Wayne, Just one more question on this rear axle. The rech working on my cart wants to put a different rear axle in my cart for $350. If its not the bearings (he said they look fine) should I have him replace the axle? Thank you again for taking the time. You are a blessing!
I just viewed you replacing a speed sensor and it looked like something I could. I have a 2002 Club car and plan to order a new sensor. Thanks

You can contact David and revolution golf cars.com, And he can probably help you
Sorry about that Wayne you’re right I have a DS thanks for getting back to me anyway have a blessed day!
I was gonna call the cart place that I bought it from til I saw the video----you helped me save at least a couple of hundred dollars minimum....Thx again
nice 👍
Wayne that was a great video. My 2011 Club Car Pesedent is jerky when taking off. It's not so bad at high speed. I checked each battery and they are good. Don't seem to have the speed it should have.
how old are the batteries? You should do a load test on them to make sure you dont have a weak one.
Wayne, my cart goes well in reverse but very slowly in forward. Is this a speed controller/magnet issue as well?
It could be, if cart used to run fine in forward.
When you say slow, is it more than 8mph? If your reverse buzzer works, do the push test to see if the speed sensor is good.
I see these priced from $15 to $170. Why the major difference? And where do you recommend buying from?
I only recommend my website of course.
So I'm having to replace components on my 2005 Fairplay 48V. It has an OEM Curtis controller 1244-5451, 400amp ....a DC Motor Mod XQ3.8, 48V, 60min. You won't be able to plug that sensor into your harness or controller.
@@waynemartin.waynesgolfcart4900 Is a new controller in my future ?? if Yes, what is the replacement for a Curtis 1244-5451 ???
Did you buy a aftermarket mcor?
Most important question, how much did you pay for your mcor?
Is your carf a ds or precedent?
If I change the magnet on my club car presedent to a high speed one will it increase the speed?
The cart goes about 15mph now.
Thanks Rick
Not if you have an excel cart

What does jacked mean? Is cart lifted? Cart should be slow in reverse
@@waynemartin.waynesgolfcart4900 thanks Wayne, I’ll check on that and get back on here with results.
If solenoid won't click, you need to fix the activation circuit, key switch, mcor,
@@waynemartin.waynesgolfcart4900 I have voltage at the solenoid and MCOR clicks when I move pedal.
@@waynemartin.waynesgolfcart4900 no volts when I run this test. Solution? Also could it be the run/tow or forward/reverse? If so, How do I test them.
Your problem is you are not getting a negative to the solenoid.
I bet if you run a temporary jumper wire from that small solenoid negative tab to the main battery pack negative, the cart will move.
Thank you for this Wayne. I have a 2006 club car that doesn't have brake lights and was wondering if it could be wired/rewired for brake lights?

Does doing this help keep it from showing down going uphill and speed loss?
By doing what? I don't know what you are asking?
I have a 1997 Club Car DS. Would replacing the magnet with a high speed magnet work on this model?
No it will not
@@waynemartin.waynesgolfcart4900 thank you!
Will a faulty speed sensor cause the cart to run significantly slower on an uphill grade? Seems to work fine on flat and downhill surfaces, but drops significantly on even a minor uphill grade.
no it shouldn't. Sounds like a possible mcor going out or batteries getting weak.
I can hear the Oh I can hear the solenoid clicking when I press the pedal
might be the controller

The golf cart really is not running at all in reverse, when I moved it forward it only went about 15 ft very slowly I tried to back down the grade and had to have it pushed. Thanks!
Look at the mcor, probably needs changing.
I replaced my MCOR and it did not solve this problem. Guess I’m going to get a new speed sensor and magnet
@@waynemartin.waynesgolfcart4900 It's a 2014 Club Car Precedent. If changing the magnet could boost it 2-3 mph I may just do that
Depends on your cart serial number

Could be a wheel bearing.
If you jack the rear of cart of, and hit the go pedal, and it doesn't make that noise, but when you put weight in cart ( sitting in it), and you then hear it, probably is a wheel bearing.
It's hard to know what a person describes as rattling.

Do you have any videos on changing the speed sensor and magnet on a club car ds with a GE motor?
Not all ds carts have speed sensors. If your does, the only difference in changing that from changing a sensor on a precedent, is the the GE sensor is flat and is not screwed in, you just pry it out with a screw driver, and remove the 1 screw that is clipping the wires.

No, do not remove the motor, you can change it from under the cart, like I did in my video.
I have a 2019 Onward that slows down to a crawl on inclines. Any suggestions on what might be causing this problem? Thanks
All carts are gonna slow going up a hill. If yours is so slow it bearly makes it, it could be too much weight, older or weak batteries, big tires making controller work too hard, or your controller is not big enough.

Check batteries first. You may have 1 or more that are bad.
Verify the voltage of each battery, before charging and during charging, and tell me those numbers, then we can go from there.
Since you didn't say what model cart you have, I will guess that it is a ds.
Yes sir 48v ds.

Andy, sorry I can't figure out what you are saying or telling me with your last words ??
Also, you can't have exactly 12 volts, there has to be a decimal point in the readings, like 12.6, 11.7, etc.
And I asked for individual battery numbers.
@@waynemartin.waynesgolfcart4900 I'm sorry, I only have an analog cheapo voltmeter. I read each battery charging and not charging at 12v. I will buy a digital one and get you better readings
I have replaced my Controler, as my cart just stopped that has made it run again , but my speed is very slow like 5 or 6 mph, I have installed a new speed sensor, it hardly made any difference. Any Ideas?
Your new controller may only be set for code 1 speed, or maybe your magnet is cracked or bad?
I have a 2005 ds club cart that slows down then regains top speed over and over. Could this be a bad gas cap or a float out of adjustment?
Bob, I am very sorry, I only work on electric golf carts, and know nothing about gas.
Would this be the same on a club car DS?
On the ds carts with sepex motors.
What’s can I buy a speed sensor for a Yamaha golf cart?
Nivel
I have a club cart and all the batteries are hooked and I got a new 10 HP motor all hook up and still won't go , lights are good I have 48+ volts
Mr Wayne I have a 2006 ds iq club car 48 volt. The car will take off fine then it stops abruptly. Let off gas pedal and starts off fine . Top speed is good just abruptly stops. Usually you here 3 beeps. Battery's brand new connection on them good. Help please.
check your batteries, I think 1 of them is bad
@@waynemartin.waynesgolfcart4900 Mr.Wayne they are a week old.
you still may have one with a bad cell, that's what that beeping is telling you
I was stuck at 8 mph and I did exactly what you did. I replaced the sensor and bought a high-speed magnet. I'm still stuck at 8 mph. Any thoughts?
I would venture to say first, that you probably bought a speed magnet, and a speed magnet won't work on your cart.
That is what probably happened, besides that, also, if your cart has always been slow, and you are trying to speed it up, then the sensor and magnet will not help, that is not your issue.
@@waynemartin.waynesgolfcart4900 Thank you for responding. My cart is programmed at the highest speed (3). It should be going at least 13 MPH. It is in "limp mode" right now. It is stuck in "limp mode" and only goes 8 mph and I can't figure out why.
Does the reverse buzzer work, and did you do the push test?
@@waynemartin.waynesgolfcart4900 Yes to both. The reverse buzzer works and when I push it forward the buzzer sounds.
Weak batteries
I bought a 1991 ezgo 36 volt yesterday. It goes slow in forward and fast in reverse. Do you have any ideas what could be causing this?
wiring could be wrong
@@waynemartin.waynesgolfcart4900 that's what I'm guessing. This is my first golf cart and the guy i purchased it from said he just replaced the batteries and it goes slow in forward and fast in reverse. This is a learning process for me. Never done this before.
Text me pictures of your entire battery area so I can see all the batteries and wires
@@waynemartin.waynesgolfcart4900 i don't know how to do that on here. Lol
I didn't ask you to do it on here.
I’ve got a pq club car with the flat speed sensor that starts fast then slows to half speed at around 7mph. Rolls forward with no braking or buzzing. Replaced the speed sensor but I have no change, still half speed and no rollaway braking. Any thoughts?
Change the magnet also, it may be cracked, or if you bought an aftermarket sensor they have been known to fail right out of the package
@@waynemartin.waynesgolfcart4900 Thank you for the help! Changed out the magnet and worked like a charm! Thanks again.
👏👏👍
That was very nice of you to share. Thank you sir
Sure, Thank you!
my precedent has 22in tires an has dropped down to 11 mph does that sound like this could be the issue.....I also have a plumquick bandit motor.....my normal top speed is 25
Sounds like it. Either that or mcor.
Do the push test to see if sensor works or not.
@@waynemartin.waynesgolfcart4900 what is the push test
Only of reverse buzzer works, tow switch in run, in forward, key on, brake off, push cart about 8 feet and see if cart resists and if buzzer stats beeping
I own a 1997 Club Car DS and I just replaced one of the solenoids. It still will not move. I am at a loss on what else to replace.
👍
My club car will go and then it stops, starts to go again and goes slower. Will keep going, just slower. Do you think this is it?
First you have to rule out the batteries. How old are they? Are they full of water ? Are they fully charged?
Brand new from interstate last August. One terminal on one battery has some corrosion. Ive had it fully charged. How should I test them? I drove it a ways today. Doesn't quit but is going slow.
You need a volt tester to test them.
Not knowing how old your cart is or what model it is, doesn't help.
Thank you Wayne, this was very useful!
👍
So my back wheels won't turn but when I lift the back of club cart the wheels turn any suggestions
Check batteries first they may be too weak.
After that look at the motor

How can I increase speed?
Same way? Thanks
More speed, will require either bigger controller or bigger motor
@@waynemartin.waynesgolfcart4900
Thanks for reply
Do you sell the MCOR to increase speed?
I sell all the mcors, but they do not increase speed, they just make a smooth throttle delivery
Thank you! Mine does that too (runs at half normal speed) but also comes to a dead stop about every 5 minutes or less. I let off the accelerator completely then immediately apply power, it goes but only at half power. It never gets above half speed. 48 volt system. Thanks again! Speed sensor?
Could be a cracked magnet

you do not have a speed sensor.
I need you to discribe a little better, what you have.
1 relay?
Do you have a row of 5 solenoids in the back?
Or 5 big matress coils?
I have 5 coils behind the batteries and 1 relay in front of the batteries
I guess it is a solenoid not a relay sorry
If your cart use to be faster, then check those matress coils for breaks or cracks, they are your speed control
@@waynemartin.waynesgolfcart4900 thanks Wayne I will check them close
How do you change the old style
What are you referring to?
Hello
changed tires to 20 inches rear.
could this be the reason that the car goes only 8m / h ???
Have no info on what cart you are talking about. But if your cart went faster before you changed tires, now is slower, that could me. Sorry not enough info given.
I have a ezgo txt 1999 gas cart it when I start it it will go 12 mph then it will drop to about 5 is this the problem with it

How old are the batteries? Is it a resistor cart? Vglide? Does yours have the row of solenoids it the back?
@@waynemartin.waynesgolfcart4900 Thanks for getting back to me, no it doesnt have a row of solinoids it has a resister coil looking spring, with several cables hooked to it from the what I think is the potentiometer , the batteries are 1 year old and fully charged. The cart has always been slow, now it only moves a little then stops, reverse is a little better than forward. What should I check first?
send me a picture of the entire battery area, so I can see all batteries, and wires and stuff.

I have a 2000 Club Car DS. The motor has no speed sensor attached on the outside and theres no wires for a speed sensor. I’m about to install an upgraded motor. Will the new motor run with out a speed sensor?
If the new motor is compatible. All motors should run whether the speed sensor is hooked up or not.
If your cart does not have a sensor now, don't get a motor that has one,
My club car is road ready. I could run 25 mph but now I can only get it up to 13/15 mph. It’s not the 8 mph like you said but could it be my speed sensor
Yes it can be, or even if you had speed code 4 , that could have gone away.
Can you show what to do with a sensor that isn’t the top hat kind.
if it is a flat discount, you pry it out with a knife

I have a 2012 club car that will run fast when I first unplug it from the charger and drive it. It will maintain that speed until I stop and when I reaccelerate it will drive slow around 6mph could the speed sensor be my issue?
it's probably 1 of these 3 things :
batteries # 1
# 2 speed sensor or magnet
# 3. mcor
Thank you for replying Wayne. I changed the speed sensor and added a faster magnet and it is still doing the same thing so I’m back to the drawing board.
Next I would look at the controller
@@waynemartin.waynesgolfcart4900 sorry to bother you again. I decided to remove the aftermarket faster magnet and install the magnet that came with the speed sensor. It now is running up 18mpg but when I take a complete stop I hear a click sound and it goes back down to 6-8mpg. When I turn the key to off Position and back to the on position it will go back to running faster. I am at loss now what could be my issue. Thanks again for al your help.
what is the serial number of your cart
This looks like a good candidate to try that out rather than just slapping in a new sensor. jmho

Wayne how much does a speed sensor cost.....I'll be calling you
Speed sensor for what cart?
If anyone can help me, I have a easy golf cart, And my problem is the golf cart pretty much dies when it hits 70%. I can run it for about 20 to 30 minutes.... It can get up to 19-21miles an hour But Quickly loses power around low 80%. I tested the batteries under a load and they seem to be fine there at 5.9. What else could be wrong?!? Please help!
Sounds like the batteries are weak. The only other thing that I see maybe possible is the controller may be overheating, but i think it's the batteries, sorry.
2010 48 volt stops abruptly and brakes then if I turn key off and on a couple of times it goes again for a short time the stops again. Battiers show góod charge
It is president
It sounds like you have 1 or more weak or bad battery.
Could Curtis controler cause this?
The cart has 15 batteries 3.2 volt each battery lithium .where can I purchase?
It could, if one of the mosfets is overheating, but I would be surprised if you find it is something other than a battery problem
I replaced the MCOR and the speed sensor. It rarely runs at 15mph and most of the time runs at 8mph. Any other ideas for me?
It sounds like either you bought a cheap aftermarket speed sensor or maybe you have a cracked magnet
How do you reinstall the magnet
It's very simple. This magnet is held in place with 1 screw.
Great video, Franchise!
🤣😅 I know who you are!👍
@@waynemartin.waynesgolfcart4900 That's that mafia guy's name. Sharp cookie he is! Inside joke I know.
How do I know what speed code i have on my club car.
@@waynemartin.waynesgolfcart4900 what's an "mcor"? Answer would be no. Will try what you suggest and report back!
I looked it up. Will report back tomorrow!

So, I did what you suggested and whacked the peddle 10 times and I no longer have a problem!
My 48 vot6 club car keeps stopping. Once I release and press the accelerator pedal it runs again. What is wrong?
What year and model cart?
What exactly happens, are you driving with pedal down, and cart stops? Coasts? Loses power?
Did it just start?
Same here. Club car ez go 48v. Not sure of the yr AQ05, I’m guessing it’s an 05 though
I would look at the mcor first.
Try turning key off, then stomp the go pedal up and down to the floor, about 10 times. Then drive cart, and see if it temporarily improves.
I would guess mcor.
