  • Captain Picard goes through a comedy of errors that culminates in him getting laid. Seriously.

Let's face it, did we really care about the plotline with the aliens from the future? We just wanted to see Captain Picard hooking up with lots of alien women.
I did like Vash, she reminded us that not all humans in the 24th century are so straight-laced, there are still a few oddballs that don't fit in.

Perfect Riker prank, tell Picard to buy him an idol that's basically a DTF beacon!

I suspect that transporter code 14 doesn't actually destroy the object, but gives the impression of destruction, while beaming away the object.

Transporter code 14 should have been replicating then teleporting an anvil or a piano to fall on top of specific coordinates.

The transporter transported the artifact away while transporting an explosion to its place.

I noticed something weird while rewatching this episode. At about 18:20 onwards, there’s a distractingly bright yellow Vulcan in the background. It’s probably just poor lighting, but it’s really funny 🖖

I am more amused than I should be that the short scenes timed to the music in the intro all came from this episode. I don't think that's normally the case')

The Ferengi Hawiian shirt and green trousers combo are magnificent.
I loved Vash. I thought she and Picard had a really great chemistry together and were very real. They were great together.

I think beverly bitching to picard about taking time off, is a reference to the original series episode “Shore Leave” where spock does the same to kirk

That Good Bad Ugly soundtrack works so well here, or maybe its just I love that movie so much.

Great stuff as always, but "Justice" was episode 8 of Season 1, not Season 3. Not that it's worth reuploading over. :)
This is one of the early episodes I do really like. That probably has a lot to do with my being a Picard fan.

0:33 I'm surprised you didn't mention how the two aliens at the beginning look like a combination between data's daughter and the scientist aliens from the last episode

This episode made me cringe so hard the first time I saw it. You’re right about those establishing shots, awkward to watch with the family.

The best parts of this episode was everything up until the point where Picard found out what a Hor'gahn was, and the scene at the end where he comes back to the ship and gives Riker the stink-eye.
I like to pretend everything else in between didn't happen. Picard hid the hor'gahn for the rest of his stay on Risa, enjoyed some time sitting by the pool reading a book and catching some sun, went to a wine-tasting, visited a local museum, and then went home.

I really thought he had saved it by using the transporter to make it disappear and create and effect to make it look like it was destroyed.
Considering that it’s basically a mythological object, like the Holy Grail, how could he destroy it?

From what I read, the eps. was supposed to be more risque but the network wouldn't allow it.

Good review. I didn’t like this one, i know we’ve seen planets similar to this one, but this episode felt too disconnected from Star Trek for me, dunno why.

I like this episode, but I never liked Vash much. Mainly just because she basically has no morals. Also she's everything I'm not, a skinny, vulpine brunette, and everybody keeps going on about how gorgeous she is. To be fair, her and Picard do have some chemistry, unlike Awkward Nella.
When I saw this episode in the 90s as a teenager, I was like, oh weird, he's almost naked! Ew! Now that I'm older, I'm like, damn, he was sexy. Tastes change.

You raise some good points, there was (still is?) a double standard when it came to how women were portrayed on TV. We never did see a female equivalent of Barclay, for example. Maybe Sonya Gomez? But her character wasn't fully developed.

The end of this always annoyed me as well. It seemed so out of character for Picard as the aliens genuinely didn’t mean harm. How many episodes involve Starfleet interacting with more “primitive” societies under false pretenses or observing them in secret? Very annoying he took such a high handed approach.

I liked the Vash character, but it was distracting that she looked so much like Courtney Cox.
This episode had elements of a film noir, which I enjoyed, and I like that it didn't take place in the Dixon Hill world.

3:01 neither of you have watched DS9 despite many times claiming that you did. That guy is literally Rom (Max Grodénchik) from DS9. Neither of you clocked on this. Which is odd, considering how olften you pick up obscure previous roles of guests stars in the show as part of your common commentary. You've never watched ds9. Period.
