You are not alone brother, I have the same struggles. The hard part is doing these things when we do not feel like it. It is hard when we feel like we’re being fake but we have to remind ourselves we are commanded to do them whether we fell like it or not and Jesus is always there waiting for us
I just ordered the same exact Bible and its my first time paying for a premium Bible so I feel like this is something that I am going to have for years but it is nice to see that other people use it and how they use it also you telling us that even when we don't read our Bibles God is still with us I feel is something that is very much needed to be heard because Yes every Christian should be in the Word of God daily but I feel like majority of the time and even when I am reading my Bible people are always asking well are you reading the Bible and the truth is that we all fall short of the glory of God we all fall short and none are perfect. So YES! Read the Bible and squeeze as much out of it as you can because tomorrow isn't promised but if you aren't reading your Bible as much, that's okay, get back up and read it. Read it even when you don't feel like it and don't just read it, sing it, listen to it, watch sermons, talk about it. See the enemy loves to drive us to despair and so don't let him drive you to despair, the truth is that God knows you and He knows that we fall short which is why He sent Jesus! So to all of my brothers and sisters who are in Christ Jesus I encourage you with words of love. Read your Bible and if you haven't been reading it, maybe its been a day or two, maybe its been a week or a month or a year or 10 years. The truth is that God will always love you and He is waiting for you to return to Him (or rather to go to Him for those of you who haven't yet). Don't let satan drive you to despair. Your eye is the lamp of your body and your ears are too so read the Word of God, engrave it onto your heart, in your mind, body, soul and spirit. Let God's Word THRIVE inside of you. lol okay this is long haha. Well God bless all of you! 💌

I really enjoyed your video and can relate so much!! My goal has been to read thru the entire Bible and I would do really good for awhile and then not. This past Christmas I had been praying to get thru the Bible and a Bible program popped up on my feed. It’s “The Bible Recap” and it a chronological plan to read thru the Bible in a year. I’ve been consistent for 140 days so far. I pray every day for God to help me and remind me to stick with it and for His word to draw me closer to Him. I ended up buying a NLT journaling Bible as well as the others I have because I’m weak in the OT and the NLT is a little bit easier to understand. It only takes about 15 mins./day. On good days I am eager to read more and the “host” of the plan shares more info in the description box or I will read another book I’m interested in from the NT. The program is on many podcasts and also on YT if you’re interested. Maybe your wife would like to do it with you. I sometimes get my husband or daughter to read with me. I will pray for you to be able to read His word daily. 🙏🏻
I would encourage you not to think of it as a sinful nature because in Christ you have a new nature in Him and He does not want you to think that of yourself
I agree, but even as Christians we are called to confess our sins. Not that this is my way of confessing, but more my way of sharing my journey after the fact, and choosing to push onward (by his grace) and continue to pursue Christ through his word.
