Great vid. I just replaced my pass side mirror after accidentally breaking it. I didnt disconnect the other switches though only the mirror connection itself. Once I took panel off, I moved it back good enough to get to bolts. I leaned it back on door with wires holding it. I used a rolling stool to hold it leveled near door so it wouldnt tug wires too bad.

Great video. Very well done and helped replace my passenger side mirror. One note, my Camaro has the OEM ambient lighting so there was one more wire connection to undo and put back. Strange connector too. Took a minute to figure out. Also, instead of removing the speaker, I attached a string to the plug of the old mirror when I removed it. I then tried the string to the plug of the new mirror and pulled it through so I could fish the plug through to hole. saved a step and some time. Lastly, to keep from losing the 3 nuts that fasten the mirror, I used my other hand to keep a finger on it until it was seated and turned to engage the threads. You can reach the nut in the small hole with the sticker from the bigger hole with the rubber grommet. Did the same thing when I removed them.

So some car hit my driver side mirror and the back part of the mirror cap broke off and it broke some tabs. Do I have to buy a whole new mirror and can I just replace the back part of the mirror? 😭
For some reason I can't get the cap from behind the interior door handle. I've tried brute force and it won't budge. I'm basically scratching the hell out of the interior door. Any suggestions on how to get this thing off?
Jesus I was going to do this myself because I like putting things together but its 2020 and its 1839482 degrees outside in California. I think ill just pay for the labor.
Removing the door and all that? That sounds like a lot of work for just replacing the side mirror. You cant just take out the broken mirrior and replace it with a new one?

You can call your local dealership with your VIN # to find out what your vehicles exact paint code is. You can also take your vehicle to a local body shop and they will be able to paint it to match your vehicle based off your VIN information as well. +Leilani S

What if the boolys are stripped inside the plastic in the mirror?
