Do I need to take off the whole mirror from the inside of the door, or can I just leave it on and go about disassembling it the same way you did from the outside of the car?
Do you know if you are able to transfer the inside plastic piece and mirror into a different back shell and still have the heating element work? I picked up another side mirror from a parts shop and the back shell of the one I have on now is in better condition than the one I bought. I just need the inside plastic piece replaced as it is cracked and am not sure if it will work or not?
Awesome video! was able to swap out the shells of the mirror when I got my new one in so that I did not have to get it painted! BIG HELP!
Glad to help.

Sure thing.
How do you know if the mirrors are heated or non-heated
@@sinal0a__c916 the mirror has a mark that looks like a defrost button.
Oh ok like the one in your video?? Thanks bro I’ve been searching on internet all day👍
@@sinal0a__c916 it will have a heating element behind the mirror. Sort of like a wire grid.
Do all gen 5 use the same mirrors ?
Could the other halve of the housing be removed as well? Or is it molded into the inner structure?
It’s all molded together.
@@FixinBugsNStuff Thanks. I'm looking for something that could be restyled to update an older car so i was hoping they were separate.
@@FixinBugsNStuffthanks got my answer
Why not just tape the mirror?
