  • Noted historian and archaeologist Eric Cline discusses the themes of his Pulitzer Prize-nominated book "1177 BC: The Year Civilization Collapsed" and takes a closer look at why Mediterranean societies of the Late Bronze Age-with their complex cosmopolitan and globalized world-systems-came to a dramatic halt. He considers the similarities and parallels of our contemporary civilization, making the chain of interconnected events more than simply a study of ancient history.

Great presentation with a very knowledgeable academic researcher. I am a retired tradesman and grandfather who now gets to peruse the Internet and find lectures that I never had access to during my working career. The Internet is a wonderful method of spreading knowledge. Thank you for posting this presentation.

I like the myths that came out of the bronze age. The world was connected and the ancients more than we think.

It's amazing how multiple mature states can all fail at the same time because they can't handle multiple stressors at the same time.
