Well this is the longest video I have uploaded on the channel so far...let me know what you think?
If you enjoyed this extended version you may also enjoy the latest extended video I made on the Bronze Age Minoans
    th-cam.com/video/t6cHnbYWk0E/w-d-xo.html
Also, I used a couple different microphones in different sized rooms on different days while recording this video(out of necessity)...so this may sound slightly different tones at times.

Bronze is used in a lot of modern machinery etc, when the engineer wants to make sure only one of two contacting parts is being worn away, they make that one from bronze and the other from steel. Bronze is still pretty hard so it resists abrasion pretty well, but when it's worn away you only need to swap out the bronze part.

57:55 The Tigris and Euphrates confluence has two names depending on who you ask: Arabs call it Shatt al-Arab (شط العرب) meaning river of the Arabs. But in Iran, it's called Arvand Rud (اروند رود), the swift river. Or at least Shatt al-Arab is only considered the part of river that is in Iraq. At the Iranian border the river Karun from Zagros mountains joins Shatt al-Arab and forms the Iran-Iraqi border. This part is considered Arvand Rud in Iran.

@@michaelb1761 yes, but even a little bit goes a long way. Assuming the archaeologists of 3000 years in the future are as advanced or more advanced than our own today, then I am sure they will be able to recover quite a lot of information from a random laptop hard-drive that was carelessly thrown in the bin and sent to landfill rather than destroyed or recycled. If it’s buried deep enough it should be reasonably safe from solar flares and EMP events. Moreover, I expect that buried CDs and DVDs will have good prospects of being readable even 3000 years from now.

This is a really smart feature: First get people hooked to a subject with a slick shorter video, then expand on it with additional audio within the same framework of visual cues. By means of progreesive learning, the short version becomes more memorable, and the extended content becomes better motivated and more digestible. A one hour firework of colorful graphics would even be too exausting (for both creator and follower, I guess)
Please just make sure that every name and year digit is spelled out somewhere on the screen. I still pause and replay a lot because I didn't get some name or number. But in general, additional audio gives adequate time to appreciate the elaborate maps that can overwhelm you when watching the short version for the first time.
Thank you so much for your very valuable contribution to our general education with respect to a quite fundamental topic!

Back when English was taught in school, People was the go to word to explain collective nouns, so we learned about people and persons. So when I had use it in a sentences: libertarians say “power to the persons”, and communists say “power to the people”

The additional commentary was absolutely fantastic! I’ve really appreciated all of your videos but I think this was my favourite to date. I love the feel of this style, like you’re having a conversation with a really knowledgeable friend. Btw, your talent in putting this quality of work together as a one-man-show is utterly mind-blowing. Cant wait to see more 👍🏻🤗

Hello, Epimetheus. This is my first viewing of your works. How did I like it ?? I loved it. Grew up in mid 1900s in fundamental Biblical Tennessee. Very limited & distorted perception of history of period producing the Old & New Testaments. It’s great to get more objective historic context of these ages. I will begin watching your additional videos. I’ve forwarded the link to this episode to ~100 people.
