Bake in the oven (I use a glass dish) with about a half inch water cut side down at 350° F , covered with foil for about 30 minutes. Remove foil, flip cut side up, lather with butter and brown sugar and finish roasting sans foil for about 10-15 minutes. OMGosh! So good.( Oven temps and times might vary 😁)

God willing and I am still alive and kicking, I'm going to TRY to make it to Makers Central in May, 2021. I'm not a wood Turner (only because I do not have the tools or the health), but I am SO in love with this channel and all the beautiful things that you make. I want so badly to meet you in person and (hopefully) buy something that you (and/or Charlie) have made. Your channel and your son's bring so much joy and entertainment to my otherwise pretty dreary life. Thank you for that ❤ my husband says to tell you "hello" from him too.
BTW, Butternut Squash is amazingly delicious when you cut it in half, lengthwise, and scoop out the seeds, then place the halves in a shallow baking dish filled with water (making sure the water is lower than the height of the squash so that it does not leak into the cavity). Fill each squash half with butter, brown sugar and cinnamon and bake at 350 degrees f. For about 45 minutes. Then remove squash from the pan being very careful not to spill the buttery GOODNESS out...then scoop and eat with a spoon. It is AWESOME!!! If you have Acorn squash, you cook it the same way, it is wonderful too 😄❤🍽

As someone who grew up in a region where you can't walk more than 10 feet without stepping on one of these during the fall, watching someone who's never seen one encounter a butternut squash for the first time and experiment with it in order to learn about is just about the most pure thing I've ever seen. Look up some recipes next! You wont be disappointed!

It is just a pumpkin only more elongated. In Argentina it is common as water and It's called calabaza.

Nick, here in the US, especially in the Southern states, it would be common when deciding to attempt to turn a butternut squash on a lathe, to hear someone say"Hold my beer, watch this!" That was insane! I was laughing the whole way through and also a little sad. Butternut squash is DELICIOUS! We make them often. I encourage you to look online for ways to cook them and enjoy one. Great video!

I'm an Aussie and we call them butternut pumpkins. To us, a squash is small, rounded and yellow with a green top. Butternuts have seeds and pulp inside like a pumpkin, squashes are more like a zucchini (or aubergine).

Chop up some onions, celery and garlic. Mix it with some mince with salt pepper and basil. Stuff the mince concoction into the squash and place the lid back on. Put 2cm of water in a baking dish and place the squash into the pan standing up. Place into a 180c oven covered in tinfoil. Bake for 1 hour. Remove foil after 1 hour and cover with a GOOD cheddar cheese and then broil until the cheese is melted and golden brown. YUUUUUUUUM!!!!!!
