Very chill music in this level for something that is so drastically important.

The theme fits the lvl well
It’s ment to represent the end of society and shadow having been manipulated and controlled by black doom to where he’s now no longer redeemable

Shadow made up his mind to join Black Doom.
He's calm and focus.
The Gun Fortress is the last line of defense of the humanity, but the Gun Soldiers and even Shadow know there's nothing they can do to stop Shadow. The calm and quiet intensity just exaggerates how much your decisions led you to this point.
In my mind, the Diablon fight for GUN Fortress should have included Rouge instead of Sonic. Feel it would've been more meaningful for the one closest to Shadow (who's still alive) to be the one confronting him in the Pure Dark finale.
Should it have been Knuckles and Diablon for Black Comet?

For the Gun Fortress Pure Dark boss, it'd be 'Rouge & Diablon'.
I still feel like it should all be sonic because sonic is shadows rival and vice versa
I though Rouge would side with Shadow had the world gone Against him.
@@ataladin87That was after this game and during what was intended to be a soft reset of the series.
The music here is just as fitting as the music in final haunt. In final haunt, it seems Shadow's choice to help humanity is final.
And here, his choice to doom humanity to slavery is as well. Either way, he is at peace with his choice, as the music reflects

I just love how the base is planned in case someone who thinks "I'm gonna destroy the world" and it guides you with arrows. It's like GUN knew they'd be f*cked up and so they received Shadow as they could.
I like how the doom's eye keeps saying us and we while all he does is float around and say make the human suffers
This is by far my favorite mission out of all the levels, primarily because once you get all the keys and the right special weapon, you can really rack up a score.
So far, my best score is somewhere over 68,000!

Yeah- I actually like this mission a lot. Not because of the keys or special weapons you can unlock but because it’s nothing but destroying everything gun affiliated in sight with very few black arms to get caught in the crossfire or attack you. I just loved trying to keep my dark mode active for as long as I can since all the rubble you can shoot gives you dark points and fills up the dark meter. Because of how much gun enemies and rubble there is, I got an A rank on my first try with a zero time bonus score. I actually had a lot of fun with this level, and I think this is truly how more of the stages should have played out.
@@isaacibarra2440no- you just get the A rank by shooting almost everything in sight because all the rubble you can shoot is building up dark points. You don’t even need a special weapon- I got an A rank on this mission my first try with a time score of zero because the game gives you that much rubble and gun soldiers to shoot.

You know, I think Shadow's definition of "order and justice" is a little skewed. I certainly don't think of it as omnicidal destruction.
No one does, because the whole thing is just stupid, bringing order and all out genocide are two *VERY* different things, Shadow isn't bringing justice and order by doing this.
You can't bring order and justice to what's dead.

I would if they didn’t give me so much trouble in The Doom stage. I did the hero mission first, which was a terrible mistake because to get a better rank, you essentially can’t kill or attack anything, and trying to use the healing units to calm the soldiers down is remarkably clunky.

Westopolis dark, digital circuit hero, prison island dark, the doom dark, the ark dark, gun fortress dark
My personal favorite gun in this game.

I think the Semi Dark-Dark ending is darker then this one.
Really? Because in this one, Shadow DESTROYS the planet, and fully believes he’s justified on doing so. In the semi dark ending, it sounds like he’s just submitting to black doom, because he’s his creation.

For over 1,000 aliens inbound, I'm surprised there aren't more than a few.
The Dark mission in this level is SO MUCH FUN! Once you get all the keys and the Shadow Rifle, you can really rack up the score by blasting damn near every GUN thing you see.
Personal best score so far, no tool-assists, over 66,000 points!

This is the first time I see Sonic actually hit Shadow. Props for that, but unfortunately Sonic barely does anything for a boss fight.
Somewhat filling ending for the dark path. Just how did he get the information for bringing justice?
Not calm, depressing. It's meant to be GUN's last stand. they know they'll lose, but they have to fight anyway.
I honestly wish we had all out fight against Sonic instead of fighting a gaint sized robot over and over again.
I actually love this song and it's fit for the level. The war is over, decidedly won so there's no more struggle. Shadow is to far gone to be brought back to the side of good. He made his choices and there's no going back. He accepts who he has become and calmly embraces it. Nothing stops this train. I think it's kind of profound tbh. Surprising for a sonic game and I love sonic games.

He had his dark gauge filled. It makes shadow invincible and gives him unlimited ammo. It’s why the dark missions are so easy.

Whoever wins between them seems to largely revolve around who is the mc at the time rather than feats between them.
