- Eggman's scenes specifically hold a very special place in my heart and it's a shame that it was so overlooked just because of the game's bad reputation. They used the opportunity to explore multiple sides to his character in this game and he got all the best lines and moments in result.
Mike Pollock put his all into his wonderful performance too! These are just some of the many reasons why Eggman will always be my favorite character of all time and why Mike is my favorite voice actor!
The day I'm uploading this is actually Mike Pollock's birthday, so happy birthday to him! His work in this is absolutely magnificent, along with his many other roles over the years. Here's to another year of brilliant talent! Wishing him all the best ♡
You may be wondering why I decided to make this since Eggman is already in most of the cutscenes as it is, but I wanted to be able to come back and watch them whenever! Eggman is the best written, best performed (and most beautiful) character in this game!

This comment always makes me happy because in the monder sonic games, I think eggman is one of the characters besides the main heros that keep the franchise alive. He is still a better character then the heros. Also orbot and cubot I like also.

I 100% agree, while I like a bit of goofiness from time to time in the games, recent games have been devoid of all sense of stakes. The delivery on the "my hands are fine" was so unbelievably out of pocket it gave me chills. makes me want to replay lost world lmao

Eggman despite his looks is quite a physically addept human, he can run fast enough escape Sonic, and at times his shown to be a very strong human

Honestly, Eggman was the only person who kept me interested in Lost World. Everyone else was either out-of character or just straight up uninteresting. Sonic was just overly impulsive, Tails was being a jealous bitch, Orbot and Cubot are just hilariously unfunny and the Zetis are just non-existent. Eggman was not taking anyone’s shit in this game.

Yeah, the game was a joke. It had some cool ideas, and I like the whole "Mario Galaxy-style" gameplay, but it still wasn't a fun game. The characters were especially bad, completely 2-dimensional.
Now that you think about it, when Sonic nearly fell and Eggman catched him..
Eggman had an option to either drop Sonic to the pit of lava or save him, it's pretty obvious what he would've done if he hated Sonic more than he should.
He could’ve also known that Sonic would beat the Zeti and thus satisfy Eggman wanting revenge on them while also being arrogant enough to think that his weapon would beat Sonic. I think if Sonic and Eggman had both been presumed dead the zeti would be guarding the energy device more closely so Eggman wouldn’t have time to snoop in and access it, even if presumed dead

I've never heard anyone mention what Eggman says just after that in the background while Sonic and Tails are talking over him, before Sonic knocks the conch out of his hand. If you listen closely, you hear something along the lines of: "I'm a compassionate man. -Or else I would've tossed you all into a bottomless pit by now! Obviously, I was [the rest is unintelligible to me]"
So Eggman is practically saying that the D6 should be grateful that he abused and enslaved them and that they have to endure the punishment of the painful conch because hey, AT LEAST he's sparing their lives!
Bringing that up along with how he doesn't care about how painful the conch's effects were to the D6, only about how rare the conch was, how the smug bastard visibly enjoyed inflicting that pain upon them the two times we saw him use the conch, and how he doesn't care about the damage done to the world as long as there's enough for him to conquer, they're all more examples of him being truly self centered and having no concern for others. Ah yes, a very 'compassionate' man indeed! :D
Very messed up of him to say that enslaving and punishing them instead of killing them is showing compassion. I love him 💜💕

ya know, eggman never HAD to save sonic. the plan was to just fake his death. it definitely would’ve been better for him from a logical standpoint to just let him die, but clearly he cares deep down. same goes for sonic, as that little moment where he reached out and looked back before escaping speaks volumes. cant say the same for tails tho. i’m genuinely convinced tails could watch eggman burn to death and feel nothing for him.

The cutscenes are so cheesy, but at least I'm glad that here we could see a somehow "natural" interaction between the classic characters.
I appreciate the cutscenes in this game only because it’s one of the only games in recent memory where Sonic and Tails have more than two interactions and actually act like best friends.

I'm all for new sonic games, but I stay for the stories primarily. I love seeing how they delve into the psychology and duality of Eggman and sonic in the world they live in. As outlandish as the premise is- there's something so fascinating about how it works. A man falls into insanity trying to conquer a world out of sheer power hunger but is somehow always taken back down to earth by some hyper sonic hedgehog. ultimately pushing the man further into this crazed rivalry. Though the modern games and media have toned down the themes I would not be opposed to seeing how this scenario would play out in a more serious and darker tone. I just wish they could take the world with a bit more seriousness just enough to make it memorial in that it doesn't try to over commodify itself.

nah, he's truly evil for all the horrible things he's done. all the good stuff he does in this game is part of him playing up an act so Sonic and Tails can help him get what he wants, only for him to turn around and betray them as soon as they do.
