I’m from the US, and most people’s map skills are really lacking here. I would guess that it’s because the US is fairly large and diverse compared to other developed nations, so most Americans don’t feel the need to leave or learn about far away places. It’s very unfortunate.

Hi Tom, in that Philippines round, "Brgy." is abbreviation for "barangay" (ba-RANG-guy), which is sort of like an administrative zone of a city (in your case, Gapan City). So you were in the barangay named Mahipon. "Purok" is an even smaller subdivision of each barangay.
Incredible job finding it so quickly!
I was about to say this, he's ran into it many times before actually! very useful to know
Good tips bro, cheers.
Thanks for the tips and translations. Are these zones usually named after a bigger city nearby or do they have arbitrary names?
@@PkPvre arbitrary; in a big city, they can be thought of as neighbourhoods or suburbs, much like the boroughs of NYC. In Tom's round, each barangay is more like a village/town, and Mahipon is just one small barangay among 23 others (according to Wiki) that belongs to Gapan City.
I grew up in a big city in the Philippines (I've since emigrated), so many details I'm not too sure about anymore, but I think this is how it is in general.
@@PkPvre in some cases they are numbered but generally they are just given arbitrary names, as a district of the city.

He, like I have said many times is extremely good at the game, and aside from these few times where he cheats (and it is easily proven) he does really well, and it's entertaining to watch. If he's just playing on his own that's fine, but he is submitting these scores to a leader board and that being taken into consideration makes this video direct evidence and doesn't look good on him. It's fine to cheat in a single player game, but when you involve others it makes everything different.
He could most likely legitimately get these scores based on other things I've seen from him, but the fact that he did cheat here, and he most certainly did. Is disgusting.

”There’s a place in montenegro that comes into my mind” please explain to me how that would be possible. There’s a million places with two bridges and a landscape like that.
I’m fuckin saying I would love a explanation
My guess as someone who has watched a lot of his videos and tends to play along with him to try to guess (And I've gotten pretty good at it): The architecture and landscape, as well as the Slavic language, screams Balkan (Probably Croatia or Montenegro in my opinion), and it's of course coastal. What I assume here is that through all his games guessing places in the Balkans he has a rough version of the map of the Adriatic coastline more or less ingrained in his mind, and that "bay" or "sound" with a landmass sort of blocking access to it probably clicked in his head. He does this a lot where he for instance looks at a certain stretch of coast or a certain mountain range (with the help of the compass on the screen, to judge directions) and correlates that with the shape of some large and distinct geographical feature.
Within 5 seconds you can tell it's either croatia or montenegro by the landscape. And in montenegro there is a very well known bay, called Boka Kotorska. The picture shows a location which is obviously in a bay. It should be anyone's first place to look. You zoom all the way at the end of the bay and look for small tributaries with bridges, and confirm it with a street sign of the place.
He's a cheater. easy to read from his body language, and gives a lot of social cues of a liar. i hate to accuse him but things like this quote show its so fake.

Filipino here. The BRGY. stands for "barangay", which is what we call the districts/subdivisions of a city or municipality here.
All land in the Philippines is administered by a city or municipality, so their jurisdictions may cover a bunch of rural areas like Brgy. Mahipon in Gapan City. To find the stereotypical city downtown you would locate the poblacion area.
My town for instance has a well-built city center, but also has suburbs, and then whole ricefields and jungle areas further out. The town administers all that.
