USNA Class of 2023 Appointment Speech

Sean G. Lee, a 2019 graduate of Chatham High School (New Jersey), accepts his Letter of Appointment to attend the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis for the Class of 2023. That’s a tough question as I don’t have insights into the actual admissions review, but what I can tell you is that he started the process early, listened - and acted - on all the advice his B&G officer gave him, (which was always spot on), and he was really on top of the application process.. I think this made all the difference in the world as I’m sure his profile (for non-committed athletes) was similar to many of the qualified candidates that came direct from high school: varsity athlete/captain, extra curricular and community volunteerism, student government/ club leadership positions, and academic excellence (GPA/class rank and high SAT or ACT scores).
