Me and my sisters loved this movie as kids. My dad actually dubbed a copy of it on our vcr when we rented it. Both sisters have since passed away, thanks for doing this vid. Brings back great memories.
I always remember Astin in the final few seasons of THE FACTS OF LIFE. He was like the 'hot little brother' character strategically added to the show in hopes of getting girl viewers to crush on him. Also George Clooney was in the last couple seasons which is beside the point.
Imagine how good a horror version of this movie could do now, with all of us who grew up with the Garbage Pal Kids are now adults and would love to see them and we don't need our parents permission to go see it.
I think this is a good time to point out we probably said that to our parents sometime long ago as well and kind of has merit as long as they know of some of the stupid crap they're in to watching ( CGI infused movies with crap writing or "reality shows" that serve no purpose for entertainment😁
@D. Anthony Franco Same here, Didn't realize the awfulness until much much later but that doesn't mean it leaves the special place in my heart for it 😊
My kids do the same thing when I watch movies from my time" its boring" except my 16 yr old she loves old movies sits up and watch cats eye the boring movie but still watch it.
I enjoy watching your videos. One thing I want to add: Katie Barberi is still active, but mostly in Mexico where she was born. She has been on several TV shows and movies there. Just look at her IMDB page. She's still has this attractive look.
Your closing on this movie makes me think of Swamp Thing. I remember loving the movie as a kid. After watching again as an adult. I understand how bad my taste in movies was as a kid. WOW
Katie Barberi’s USA acting career didn’t take off sadly. However she is actually a native of Mexico, 100% bilingual and has starred in many Mexican soap operas so there’s that.
Your final fight sums up my whole feelings about that movie. I loved to collect those cards at the time. The movie was great, I was 10 years old And remember how fun collecting those cards with my friends was.
I was 7 when the movie got released. I am really glad I heard of this movie fpr the first time a few years ago and not as a child. It probably would have traumatized me.
Great, cult Film, and definitely a must watch if you haven't already!! I had the V-hs tape, but then I upgraded to the DVD, so iam caught up with that 1....Lol 😆. Great job Mr. Minty!!
that original idea actually is freaking awesome. I already love this movie because I had the cards as a kid. I grew up playing with the cards and loved the gross aspect of it all. Now as an adult finding out about the original plot, I gotta say, that would have been brilliant if this was a horror movie like the Puppet Master.
I loved this movie as a child! I collected the cards and I definitely remember watching this movie as soon as it came out! I really do wish that they would remake it because I know they could make it look amazing! But I do wish they would go with horror this time. Like a dark, horror comedy. THAT would be great! Thank for taking the time to make this video for us!! You're AWESOME! 🤜🤛👍🤪🤪😊
Thank you again for doing yet another video Minty. I was never interested in this video, and it has been ripped apart by so many lists for being terrible, but thanks all the same for doing this video.
Here is a fun fact. The actress Katie Barberi ended up appearing on Mexican soap operas. I know because my mother is a huge soap opera fan and viewer and I would watch some of them with her because they had some really hot actresses in them. I recognized the actress right away in a couple of them.
Every kid had these cards in the 80’s & early 90’s! I loved the cards! The dinosaurs eating ppl & ripping them apart were always my fave, & my hubby’s fave as a kid too. I didn’t know about the movie till later.
Minty- thanks for bringing us obscure movies like the Garbage Pail Kids/a.k.a. Gang. i've never seen the movie but now i want to. Happy Thanksgiving from ur American fans!
thank you so much for doing this one took me back to my kid days you had to be here and be a card collector to understand the cards were huge when the movie came out
It will always hold a special place with me as it was the first thing I watched when I parents purchased one of those huge satellite 📡 dishes back in the 80s.
it actually came out on Blu ray as a collectors edition from shout factory. they even gave it bonus features. Special Features Include: -“The Effects of the Garbage Pail Kids Movie:” Interviews with special makeup effects creator John Carl Buechler and makeup effects artist Gino Crognale -“On the Set:” An interview with first assistant director Thomas A. Irvine -“The Artful Dodger:” An interview with actor Mackenzie Astin -“The Kids Aren’t All Right:” Interviews with Garbage Pail Kids actors Arturo Gil (Wendy Winston) and Kevin Thompson (Ali Gator) -Theatrical Trailer
I really liked this movie when I was a kid. I never realized how bad it did back then. I will say that the horror angle would be very exciting to see. I would definitely watch.
Somehow this Oddball Film that People still hates to this Day really makes Norm of the North, Blues Brothers 2000, Foodfight the Movie, The Room, The Barney the Dinosaur movie, The Micheal Bay Transformers live action films, Bratz the Movie (don't ask me about that at all), and Son of the Mask look like good and enjoyable movies to watch. THAT'S RIGHT, I FREAKING WENT THERE!!
I remember when those cards came out. I had them, and "Wacky Packages" all over the place. Back then, the "kiss of death" for any product was for parents to like it. If you had something kids/teens liked and parents hated, you had a gold mine.
For all its sins The Garbage Pail Kids does feature the single greatest fart gag ever committed to celluloid. During the bar brawl Windy Winston farts in a man's face, blowing off the attacker's baseball cap and mustache. That irreverent bit of slapstick is one of the main reasons I still love this film today.
I was born in the 70s, American, and loved collecting those cards. My world was shaped by afternoon television too. Still never knew this movie existed.
YOU'RE weird, Minty! but we LOVE you for these videos! Topps was sued by the makers of Cabbage Patch Kids for Garbage Pail Kids cards parody Cabbage Patch WON!
The weird part about this move is that Jim Cummings (the voice of Darkwing Duck) did he voice of Nat-Nerd and that Elvis impersonating Garbage-Pail Kid!
Hey Minty! Dude, I love your show. Ive seen most the episode a number of times. Can I leave a request? The movie "So I Married An Axe Murder". I love this movie and Mike Myers is awesome! If you do? Can you dedicate it to Caraboo? You are kinda a big deal in our small world. Anyways, thank you. I know I will just be happy for a new episode. See ya!

4:12, Seriously, I really wanna know why they would reject the idea of having the film be a Horror Movie.
From my admittedly poor memory, Clooney came off a bit douchey, IMO.
Imagine how good a horror version of this movie could do now, with all of us who grew up with the Garbage Pal Kids are now adults and would love to see them and we don't need our parents permission to go see it.
Hey, I love the Garbage Pail kids and so do a lot of people.
I love the cards to death and the 80s♥️🤘😎🤘 but i hate to death the garbage pail kids movie.🤮💩
It was one of my favourite films as a young teenager and still is
Thank you
🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮👎👎👎👎👎👎
@@markusforsberg6741Totally don't have to be an ass
I still own this movie on VHS and I'll never let it go
Ae you sayig you like it?
I doubt anyone would want it lol
Not true. The movie on vhs is worth about 80 bucks on ebay
@Lebo leigh Leigh Don't ask me.
I hope that Peacefrog regetted owning it.
Thank you for performing this public service.
I still have a few of the trading cards and a copy of the movie, which I watch every now and then.
Me to lol I was 10 when this came out
Jason Groves cool😊
Same here. I have 4 un opened boxes.
You don't watch it. Come on man.
My son walked into the front room when I was watching the movie and he promptly told me Mom this is stupid
I see why it's looks terible movie
I just got embarrassed.

MINTY i'm 40 and i grew up with these cards. just had some really cool pictures and art. don't know why it works but it does. great video again.
Love your videos man! Great job as always. - Paul from Pennsylvania
GPK trading cards were such the rave here in the Philippines from 1987 to 1990. Totally made my childhood memorable!
I still want to know the fraction of cocaine snorted when the pitch meeting for this movie
Hopefully Pitch Meeting does a video for the film. I can't imagine it would be an inconvenience.
@@projectmayhem6898 let's suggest that
Too much cocaine 😂

I'm guessing 3/4 .
I'm loving your film analysis videos, Minty! They're factual and informative but also personal and funny. I'm a fan of your work!

Katie Barberi I thought was spunky when I saw this as a kid. Heck, she grew out nicely as well.
Your closing on this movie makes me think of Swamp Thing. I remember loving the movie as a kid. After watching again as an adult. I understand how bad my taste in movies was as a kid. WOW

Mackenzie Astin also played in 'Iron Will' by Disney. I love that movie
