10/10 made me call a friend I havent seen in 30 years so I could go and sit on his bedroon floor and play PS games all day while nodding our heads in time
Ill never forget heading over to my boy Tommys place, getting my ass kicked in whatever racing game we were playing, and smoking out to the menu music in Gran Turismo: A-SPEC. 20 years later (last year) i looked him up on FB, hes just living the good life, running amateur circuits up and down the east coast USA. Gotta hit that guy up and catch up, thanks for the reminder. 🤙
That's exactly how I usually describe the effect of drum and bass. It's actually kind of magical because it's hard to find other types of music that can do that, I think.
I literally just got here and it’s already nostalgia. Nostalgic people reminiscing about times bygone they never belonged to during a time of belonging passing them, with their smartphones looking at the past from the future. Today is Yesterday’s Sweet Tomorrow Dreams :]
Somehow went from randomly having "We need jungle I'm afraid" in my suggestions to watching some drumming shorts to this. Kind of a weird rabbithole, but definitely an enjoyable one.
I was born in October 1989, so most of my childhood exposure to Jungle was cartoons and car commercials until around 1998 when my parents bought me and my brother our first console (N64). From there all the jungle came from games on PS2 and Xbox until my freshman year of highschool, a friend who's dad worked at a night club sent me a RedEyes mix in 2004, introducing me formally to Jungle. Been obsessed ever since. These types of mixes are like a background stabilizer for my brain while I'm doing literally anything, work, working out, drawing, cleaning, cooking, dishes, changing my oil, you name it. Subscribed, looking forward to more.
Wish playlists like this could be saved on Spotify. Would be nice If Jungle artists worked together to make compilations albums like artists did back in the 90s and early 2000s. This would be perfect for an album of the sort, much love and thanks for this great mix from Nigeria, Africa
I don't know if I'm the only one who thinks this, but I love this retro futuristic style of the 90's that the PS1, PS2, N64 and the consoles of this generation had in the soundtracks of sooo many games. This atmospheric futuristic sound is my favorite.
It feels like I've searching for the perfect mix for years to utilize when I'm burying my head into the sand frantically coding. This is what I've been looking for.
It's pretty cool people are getting exposed to jungle via an nostalgic aesthetic opposed to attending raves and buying records. If you like this I would encourage you to check out GoodLooking Records. Our boy is playing a lot of tracks from them. You will most likely dig their catalogue of tunes that are very diverse. Sounds from 93-2011. Big ups to Mostly Hairless. dope set.
I was too young, way too young for raves when the 90s happened. DnB and Jungle I got exposed to from older friends and believe it or not The Power Puff Girls soundtrack has some DnB.
Amazing mix, this is exactly what I was looking for to listen to in the car, it transformed me back to 1995, the time of terrible progaming, music and film, thanks bro
im 35 years old and didnt think all the young kids would like this stuff and the bad graphics. lol. sadly they will never feel the nostalgia of these times. there nostalgia will be apps on phones and memes.
I'm 25. The nostalgia is build-in I'd say. The kids nostalgia would be TH-cam, Fortnite, Roblox, Minecraft and music are all intregrated. The samples and graphics used are very much reminiscence of something we once had.
See I’m 27 and I feel like i was born at the perfect as to where my childhood consoles that i consider retro and have the biggest nostalgia hit is the n64 and ps1 and that was purely down to playing them with my brothet and being handed them down with untold games Somthing about that 90s early 2000s technology just hits that sweet spot for me 💚
One of the best mixes I've heard of DnB/Jungle, not only because there are bangers one after another, even the visuals are good, especially that vibing cat, we are all that cat, oh yeaaaah! 🎷🎮🎶
You sir are a legend. never have i felt so happy relaxed nostalgic and motavated all at the same time. this trule brings be back to the 90s, the best era to have ever blessed our timeline ❤️👌
Listen to these mix types daily and this is just excellent, nice to have a bit of subtle scratching in there, thanks for the tracklisting too, been trying to find the name of 'astral travel - bungle' for ages. Purely excellence, thanks you sir, this really is top notch stuff, seriously great tune selection
I loved every second of this set, and you made it so much more alive w/ the scratching, effects and overall chaotic setup. inspirational, oh and fuck pioneer!
Pulling the trigger on the XV-5080 after listening to this, that synth is like if you boxed up this era’s sound into a little vst. I’d check it out producers!
MAAAAN, you did your thing here! Thank you for putting this together and bless the algo for putting this in front of me on a Sunday night! Definitely helped me lock in and get some shit done around 😂 🔥. Subbed

The ridge racer clips go super hard ✨
Ape escape for ps1 was definitely my opening to this type of music. I miss it.
Yeah that's my favorite right there, hard to pick a favorite but today I'll say the stage select song
@@Balb8 fair enough. That is top 5 of the ost
The scratches add so much style to an already great selection of dope tunes. Jungle and DnB will forever be awesome!
I was like "wow they really synced up the mixing board" Then i realized you're just cooking live. Subbed
Had the same reaction when I just found this mix. Insane.

noticeably better quality than many of the generic retro mixes out there

This makes make me happy and sad at the same time.. nostalgia is the best drug
i love the headbanging cat ngl
the jazz and the cat bobbing its head is icing on the cake! 🥰

Its because they paid actual electronic music artists to produce the music for the games
This one's been getting me through some long shifts on the run up to christmas. Thanks a bunch!
Might be my favorite mix of DnB/Jungle I’ve heard in a long time.
It feels like I've searching for the perfect mix for years to utilize when I'm burying my head into the sand frantically coding. This is what I've been looking for.
yup, this my coding music as well
definitely check out FIREWALKER too
I use all of these religiously
coding and listening to this rn
This made me feel like I was floating. Which means it's one of the better drum and bass mixes.
Gosh watching Ridge Racer with these playlist is sooooo refreshing such a great time to be alive then.
the days i feel we was lucky to get so many good ones out of rr
I felt all sorts of nostalgia when I saw ridge racer the first few minutes followed by some sweet jams 🤘🏽
Thank you for including artist/tracklist!
sick mix, this has been getting me through my work shift every day for about a month now LOL
A+ mix full of bangers! Well done, thanks for putting this up. Subbed.

something's weird like why is the algorithm great all of a sudden.
@@chuba7x for one thing I finally quit looking up or watching dumb brainrot stuff on TH-cam. Wonder if everyone else is doing the same

nice transitions, and smooth emotional vibes
that scratching that starts up around 47:20 is absolutely cooked in the best way. incredible stuff mate
I stopped what I was doing to watch that gold moment
I really like the scratching you added to the mix! Really fits the era and the overall vibe.
simultaneously thrilling and relaxing, like a good N64 sesh, as it should be

Thanks! Crazy, really - it was just a private stream I did for some buddies, I only uploaded it because one of them missed it due to having covid 😅

46:40 the drop made me suddenly stand up from chair and dance while coding
Alot alot alot of '90s jungle' on youtube, this is the only channel actually supplying it
agree
I prefer 1980s jungle
A Jungle/DnB game mix without a Ridge/Rave/Rage Racer game is *blasphemy*! But this mix is fire!
Soooooooo good. Thank you for great music; a throwback to the late 1990s/early 2000s for me.
best i've heard in a long time; i love drum and bass!
This is the music that plays in my imagination when I'm on an adventure
mate this mix is art, youre a master selector and scratcher
broooo the cat in the top right corner is me fr. tryna study for my exam tmrw but oh well
