A lot of people are misunderstanding that yea, JSR had songs composed by Naganuma and they're great. But there's also God damn rob zombie and Jurassic 5. It's not just about sounding "JSR-like."
@SASHKO NAGANUMA I think the full soundtrack release will be interesting and depend on how well they flow with the stages. We don't know all the locations so certain tracks might work better at different locations. And if I'm honest, this is just team reptiles love-letter to JSR; there can always be another that comes along and includes artists like yourself and 2mello.
I swear anytime I put on songs that are even slightly related to JSR, I'll always wake up to this blasing in my ears, which while not bad, Skankfunk is fucking loud as hell and I cannot sleep through it.
Got a big smile when I literally tabbed back over because the end of skankfunk was going so hard and I had to see what the name of the song was, and when I hovered over the section TH-cam had a thumbnail annotation saying that specific section was auto-tagged as "most replayed". Y'all got good taste.
Did not really expected to see this. Through the entire year, I saw a lot of 2 Mello's fan comments here, I never thought that Skankfunk will be the top of my most viewing video. Thank you all!
The only thing this game is missing is Magnetic Inline Rollerskates. Seriously, using the pics from this game and the ones from JSR, I drew my own character for each.
__OPINION AFTER BEATING BRC__ I don't agree with you hating on 2Mello, but god damn, like half of OST was trash-tier. You were right all along. I Kneel Sashko-Sama
I just dont get it, while I dont like 2 mellos work, HE REVIVED THE SCENE. HE LITERALLY REVIVED THE MUSIC SCENE FOR JSR INSPIRED TRACKS, and I'd say they want chill music but when i watch a teaser and hideki busts in my room stuffing my eyes with funky fresh beats, I gotta ask what music do they really want?
2 Mello just took advantage of the fact that most JSR fans don't know that JSR music is called Big Beat. Lots of people still think Hideki made the genre and the game ( Big Beat originated in the UK) The truth is that there are a lot of big beat artists from the late 90s and still several who make music never caring about JSR. You can also find the same type of music under break beat
@@z-chan946 That song is a sample of catch 22 Boogie down. Hideki is a sampler hes not a composer. Like most of the JSR fanbase they have never heard of Big Beat/Break Beat and think that its something unique to Hideki so yes 2mello did bring back nostalgia for people that enjoyed JSR but he didn't revive the genre. Some of the big names like Prodigy are still around today
I think people who are confused why they’d forgo so many of these songs miss what JSR and JSRF were doing. Naganuma is a powerful force, but while he was the lead music producer who selected and facilitated the music choice his own tracks in JSR were actually only so many. The beautiful blend of sounds was a culmination of so many artists: Guitar Vader, Richard Jacques, Deavid Soul, F-Fields, Latch Brothers, the list goes on. Songs that were distinctively 2Mello like “Rave Shit” would garner a lot more value. And he would be standing among greats in the playlist, not emulating them. As we’ve seen in Lethal League, there’s no short of artists ready and willing to get Funky and bring Break, Big Beat, Afro, New Jack , and Soul into it. Our Funky Uncle is just a very notable Japanese piece of the beautiful pie and even he was aiming to put a spotlight on tons of awesome artists like him doing their own thing. So in rejecting so many of these “Hideki-like” tracks, they’re perhaps staying true to form. And I’m sure 2Mello and others respect that.
You heard the musin on the latest BRC trailer, it was terrible, more terrible than NFS Unbound OST, the game infamous for it's awful music. The most part of the music on this video is better than the original OST, in all aspects. New music and new style doesn't mean it's good, mostly it's a pile of trash. Also Dion said, quote: "I wish we could have more tracks of his in general, but he has not been very available for us in the past year unfortunately" What you said is total BS and nonsense, don't be a devil's advocate.
@@SASHKONAGANUMA The game isn't JSR3 as much as it would've been cool to see these artists in the game its Team Reptiles creative decision on the music of the game. They're making a game that people have wanted for years I think we should just enjoy it when it comes out.
@@SASHKONAGANUMA You are correct. Look at the recent Ridge Racer 4 release where they remixed the great old songs into garbage....making them totally different just to make them different. Even the original artists destroyed their own songs in some horrible experiment. So only Disc 2 of that set was worth buying (for the remastered sound). There's no need to change what works if it works...
@@SASHKONAGANUMA Okay, I'm just gonna put my own two cents on this, is the soundtrack choices worth getting worked up over? Lethal League had only one track from Hideki Naganuma, but there are plenty of other good songs in that game from artists like Bignic and Klaus Veen. Team Reptile may have been inspired by JSR, that much is obvious, but perhaps they want to create their own identity that doesn't completely copy the origins. That would extend down to the soundtrack choices as well.
I mean is there anything else to the "drama" other than the dev opting not to work with the artists in this compilation? I like the music in here but it seems perfectly reasonable to me for Dion to have his own vision for the game's soundtrack, doesn't seem all that mysterious to me.
2 Mello's "I wanna kno" is this game's "concept of love" Killer soundtrack, I wish this game the best. JSRF shaped so many aspects of my life, from my fashion sense, my music taste, the people I hung up with. My life's been a blast, wouldn't change a thing.
In the trailers they showed a flip phone mechanic that could use unlockable tracks. If they don't want to put this music in the main game, then why don't they just add these songs as unlockable tracks? they have no reason not to.
For someone like Dion, who's basically profiting off of ripping someone else's style, he sure is extremely arrogant. To think you're on some sorta high horse to reject someone's work on the fact that it's "worship" is super hypocritical. It's already a niche style, and the basis of it is really underrated. As an Indie game developer, the last thing you want to do is piss of the little fan base you have.
what are you on about? who's Dion? edit:nvm, shoulda read the description, I mean, Dion has no obligation to get these artists on the list, but he didn't have to go and be a dick about it
@@___echo___ it’s not about an obligation to to include every artist, but his reasonings for not giving people chances are extremely arrogant and hypocritical. Aside from that, imo, he’s an absolute idiot for rejecting a lot of these artists. Especially 2mello.
I mean, Team Reptile was born out of love for JSR. You can't include *every* artist influenced by it, and I'm guessing they already had a pretty good soundtrack by the time most of these artists asked. Also, this is mega informal. Like, how one dude acts on twitter isn't the opinion of the whole team, and we've never seen how the artists carried themselves in that interaction. All we can do is wait and hope.
@@AndrewS-vu4ji we get that, I think the reason people are upset is because of how he responded to the artists trying to get onto the soundtrack, not so much that he refused them (which is a matter of opinion whether they'd fit onto the soundtrack, personally I like the songs, but don't think they're necessarily the best fit for the game if you're going for a 100% match to jsrf vibe)
@@___echo___ I haven't seen anything about this drama besides this so idk what the guy has said besides "don't undersell yourself by just comparing your works to naganuma's", but that and the vague comments of "hideki naganuma worship"(you're not gonna get much varied music from just artists imitating one man's style?) seem like pretty reasonable responses? Maybe not the grounds to dismiss someones pitch, but still
What we ended up getting were some bangers but I’m not gonna lie, this seems better wax is on here too, a lot of the songs that play over and over again in the game are the most annoying ones too

Moonlight Disco is an absolutely fire track. Should be in the game.
the next generation of jet set radio. i CANT wait.
A lot of people are misunderstanding that yea, JSR had songs composed by Naganuma and they're great. But there's also God damn rob zombie and Jurassic 5. It's not just about sounding "JSR-like."
It's true, but in the other hand, have you heard the actual soundtrack of BRC? Most of the tracks were not fitting in.
@@SASHKONAGANUMA Where can we listen to the full list tracks that will actually be in the final game?
@@ptrcrispy th-cam.com/video/oCPr5YmrWSY/w-d-xo.html
not even familiar with this game but mind = blown by how good this stuff is
Cx I followed for a minute
Good to see him get recognition
Эта музыка просто ласкает мои уши
I have both of 2Mello's JSR inspired soundtracks I would have loved to hear them in BRC Especially RAVE SH!T and Should've Known
Wait are you telling me none of these songs are in BRCF?????????
The only thing this game is missing is Magnetic Inline Rollerskates.
Seriously, using the pics from this game and the ones from JSR, I drew my own character for each.
the gameplay demo looks exactly like jsrf, honestly so excited
2 Mello did got into the game with I Wanna Kno in the end
reckless is such a good song, i love scapegoat wax
__OPINION AFTER BEATING BRC__
I don't agree with you hating on 2Mello, but god damn, like half of OST was trash-tier. You were right all along.
I Kneel Sashko-Sama
lol
ngl i had no idea about this game and i feel like Ive done myself a great disservice
I just dont get it, while I dont like 2 mellos work, HE REVIVED THE SCENE. HE LITERALLY REVIVED THE MUSIC SCENE FOR JSR INSPIRED TRACKS, and I'd say they want chill music but when i watch a teaser and hideki busts in my room stuffing my eyes with funky fresh beats, I gotta ask what music do they really want?
i tweeted reptile games about it and got a reply @sazentai if you wanna check it out
2 Mello just took advantage of the fact that most JSR fans don't know that JSR music is called Big Beat. Lots of people still think Hideki made the genre and the game ( Big Beat originated in the UK) The truth is that there are a lot of big beat artists from the late 90s and still several who make music never caring about JSR. You can also find the same type of music under break beat
@@OhhiBukai that doesnt change that he revived jsr in the music taste. And I still havent heard anything like sneakman anywhere
@@OhhiBukai I didnt day big beat did i? I said jsr inspired tracks
this mix is badass dude
Also Dion said, quote:
"I wish we could have more tracks of his in general, but he has not been very available for us in the past year unfortunately"
What you said is total BS and nonsense, don't be a devil's advocate.
That would extend down to the soundtrack choices as well.
i cant waiiiit!!!!!
even though theres quite a bit of drama surrounding the exclusion of music, im still seriously hyped for this game no matter what
I mean is there anything else to the "drama" other than the dev opting not to work with the artists in this compilation? I like the music in here but it seems perfectly reasonable to me for Dion to have his own vision for the game's soundtrack, doesn't seem all that mysterious to me.
If you let that "drama" affect your decision, you're an ignorant entitled crybaby.
*JUST GAY ENOUGH, IM JUST GAY ENOUGH*
"Shit don't stink."
-Sashko Naganuma
(Edit)
Also, Sashko did a sneaky by slipping in a Ronaldino Soccer in Dealer's Delight.
Very nice music. That said, I hope you'll be able to let this whole thing go soon.
Please do arrange a solo picket at the Team Reptile's office. Oh wait, they don't have one.
@@SASHKONAGANUMA you really need to chill out man
Whats the issue here?
Glad to see scapegoat wax is back
wow brc rejected this many people at this point you group them all together they can make their own game
26:16 is where its at
The actual soundtrack better be this good.
i was sure this was an album from Melo2 lmao
2 Mello's "I wanna kno" is this game's "concept of love"
Killer soundtrack, I wish this game the best.
JSRF shaped so many aspects of my life, from my fashion sense, my music taste, the people I hung up with. My life's been a blast, wouldn't change a thing.
2mello as well as half of the other artists in this video were rejected actually. Apparently they are "copying Naganuma"... Yeah.......
@@eveandaedrul2mello is *in* the game, and that's a gross misrepresentation of what was said.
I think in terms of 2 Mello's songs "LUV 2 LUV" is closer to "Concept of Love" Too bad it didn't make it into the game, still slaps tho
Total banger
Upon learning 2mello wont be featured I probably will not buy this game ☹️
2mello is in the game
Can't wait to play this >:0
Dream-like / nostalgic / jaw dropping
What happened to the timestamp chapters? They aren’t there anymore when I play the video.
They're back now
so good !!
THIS GOES Hard
This game is utterly sensational
This goes so hard.
In the trailers they showed a flip phone mechanic that could use unlockable tracks. If they don't want to put this music in the main game, then why don't they just add these songs as unlockable tracks? they have no reason not to.
Same thing bro.
