    Hey Glamfam! In this video I am discussing what is really happening to the hair when you are flat ironing your hair. This is important information to know because there can not only be issues of heat damage, but also of a loss of hydration. This , when done repeatedly can cause issues with dryness. The number one cause of breakage is dryness, so we want to ensure we are correctly identifying and solving the issue. As always, if you have any questions, let me know in the comments! Until next time y'all, take care, God bless, and stay glam!

      Sin shortens life, because of our sins we are separated from God. Everyone have an expiration date and this world have an expiration date.There is nothing in this world worth going to hellfire for, depart from worldliness everyone. It's NOT about religion/denomination, it's about a relationship with Jesus Christ by praying everyday, reading the Bible everyday, believe the gospel, While you are still alive repent of all of your sins and be born again. Rapture is imminent, do not be left behind. Jesus Christ is coming back everyone, get yourselves ready.

      They do, they don't because of $$$. Just like they know braiding is bad for the scalp. All you do is flatten out tangles. That is why they have to use a comb with it. The flat irons with teeth are better.

Its perfect. I always makre your to have a leave in moisturizer as well as a geat protectant spray in my hair before blow drying and then i straighten. Hair is soft and sleek with just 2 passes and the chase method. I have tried straightening with no product and my hair wont go sleek or shiny, and it has loads of frizz like you said. The timing of this video couldn't have been better. I had just flat-ironed my hair for the first time in over a year a week ago and had no idea why it was so dry afterwards. Like most people, I thought the smoke was because the iron was too hot, and not that it was steam as the moisture was coming out. I never thought of the steam that I saw when I flatironed my hair as moisture loss before. But it definitely makes sense. Do you teach your students how to do tape in hair extensions as well? I recently watched a number of videos of people who had them done. The interesting thing is that I haven't heard how they are removed. I've wondered if they put any strain on the person's on hair? Or if they caused any damage or thinning long term? They do look really natural though. And it was good to see that you uploaded a video. The slick back is still slicking.

    Loved that smile and moment @ 4:30. It made me smile. After watching the video, I feel soo bad for my hair. I only flat iron my hair 1 time a week or every 2 weeks but it texture seems like I do it more often. Could that mean I need to deep condition it more often?

    • @GetGlamFam
      @GetGlamFam  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You may need more frequent deep conditioning, and you may be using a temp that is a little too high. Try lowering the temperature some 😊🙏🏽

    Once the hair has been flat ironed, is there anyway to put moisture back into the hair prior to the next shampoo? I hope this question makes sense because I’m wondering even if I shampoo weekly (7 days) and use a flat iron to curl 4 or 5 days, based on your example, my hair is getting drier and drier😢😢 yikes

    • @GetGlamFam
      @GetGlamFam  ปีที่แล้ว +11

      Technically, no, not until you shampoo and condition again. This is a huge reason for why I usually recommend deep conditioning prior to pressing hair out.

    Hey there ! Cosmo student here 💕:
    I’ve came across a video and this stylist said if you straighten your natural hair pattern or get a silk press , that person is no longer natural. I’ve always thought , when you chemically change the hair (relaxers etc ) then that means your no longer natural. How come ? Then they said that your hair is not suppose to be blow dried at all. But wouldn’t that cause breakage if you don’t blow dry the hair?

    I’m a straight natural and have heard my stylist say I should only apply heat to my hair once per month. I prefer to have my hair straight and think washing it once a month is gross. I used to do every two weeks. What do you think?

    Hi 🙂 Question: Is straightening by blow dryer better for the hair or is it the exact same in terms of the amount of damage that is caused?

    • @GetGlamFam
      @GetGlamFam  ปีที่แล้ว +12

      Usually it’s better because it’s considered indirect heat, meaning that there is not a hot surface directly touching the hair. Although professional blow dryers can get hot enough to damage the hair.

    When I flat iron my hair, I always do it after I get out of the shower and blow dry my hair with a blow dryer brush. Before applying heat, I always use Giovanni hair serum. Once that’s done, I apply a glistening amount of oil onto my ends, and go for at least three days without heat.

Also which causes more damage the flat iron or the old fashion hot comb I dont remember my hair reverting as much back when I use the comb ....What's the best heat protective sprays/serums??
