I bought my babyliss pro nano titanium set (reg and mini size) almost 15 years ago. They still work and have never had any issues. Before purchasing those I was going through irons every few months because they would stop working. Babyliss is really great quality and will last you for years!
That number 1 BabyLiss is my favorite flat iron. I actually manage to do flat iron curls with it too. I had mine since 2011 and it’s still working in 2023 😂 I have no complaints and when I bought mine it came in a pack with 2 for $99 one was a regular size and the other is longer. It’s just excellent. I remember my coworker thought I went to the salon but I did it myself
I recently got that GHD iron and love it! I'm black w 3b/c fine hair. I find the "hinge" useful because I am able to easily clamp my hair tightly enough to get good tension through each pass. I've had flat irons in the past start feeling "loose", or as tho the plates don't line up properly overtime, if that makes sense. I like that the temp stays at 365. Ive had many irons in the past that go up to 450 and I've often ended up w heat damage. I think most ppls hair doesn't actually need that much heat to straighten well-- especially if you do a good blow dry/blow out first! I also find it frustrating when half way through doing your hair, you find the temperature setting has accidentally changed 😭 with the one set temperature the iron stays at a consistent temperature for my whole head. I've used it just once and my hair turned out great, and I did maximum of 2 passes for each section I ironed. I actually had a ghd about 10 years ago that I gave away bc it wasn't working for me, I found it snagged my hair and didn't clamp as tightly as I'd like. I was drawn to this ghd for some reason, and I'm glad I went with it!
I bought my GHD back in 2015 believe it or not, and after about 3 years it started making a strange noise…the booklet that came with it said to contact the store you purchased it from about any issues so I did (Sephora), who said “not our problem, contact the manufacturer” (which I expected to be a waste of time, as it was certainly past the warranty) but amazingly enough they actually replaced it without even asking for the old one back! So the one they sent is the same one I’m still using now, six years later. With that kind of longevity and customer service, I absolutely don’t mind paying more!
I've had my GHD's since 2011 and they're still as good as new. They are the midnight collection, to be honest there wasn't much choice back then and the difference between cheap straightners and GHDs was night and day. I'm not sure I would have chosen them with the choices that there are now given the cost but given their longevity I'm very happy with them and won't be changing them until they stop working at the same standard!

Hi Chris, first of all, I really love your channel! I'm a big fan of how you explain all the things and show us how the industry manipulates everything just to get more money 😊 I want to share my experience, I have the Babyliss Nano Titanium since 12 years ago or more and I used to love it but recently I bought the Steampod (I found a really good deal) and for me works better than the Babyliss, with Steampod I only pass the iron 1 time at 350°F and the hair looks shining and really straight and the more important thing, my hair last one week straight and with no frizz! (a must when you live in a place with a lot of humidity) with the Babyliss I used to pass the iron 2-3 times (450°F😥) and it did not last straight too long so the next day I was straightening my hair again 😅 I have also used the Steampod to do curls, at the beginning I was thinking that maybe because of the iron size the curls we're not going to look good, but I was completely wrong!!! The curls looked amazing and lasted 2-3 days in my hair. However, after watching your video related to curling irons I decided to buy the Hot Tools Curling Iron (in Europe I couldn't find the Babyliss that you recommended) and I will test it soon! Thanks for sharing your knowledge! ❤️
I also own the steampod I got it a few years ago during the Sephora 20% off sale and I also find it amazing for me hair type. I have medium to coarse hair from the roots. It’s also color treated hair and very long. I have never owned a Babyliss but I’ve tried almost every high end brand, GHD, CHi, JOSH HARRY, BIOIONIC, and even PAUL MITCHELL and the Steam pod works the best for my hair type. Doesn’t matter if my hair is healthy /shiny or dry it always comes out so smooth and hydrated. I sold all my flat irons and stayed with just this one. My hair dresses uses a Babyliss on me and it steams to make my hair nice as well.
Hi Chris. I just stumbled onto you channel and so far I’m loving it. Love how you keep hair care simple and don’t push a ton of products. I want to share my story in hopes it can help one of your other viewers. About a year ago I started experiencing very itchy scalp whenever my hair was wet. Once it dried the itching went away. My hairdresser didn’t see anything of concern, I contacted Matrix to see if they had made any changes to the products I use, which they hadn’t. I saw a dermatologist who also couldn’t find anything. My doctor then suggested neuropathic itch and sent me to a neurologist and that was my answer. For whatever reason my hair being wet causes the nerves to over fire causing an itching sensation. According to my neurologist there are many causes. For me its a result of a spinal cord injury six years ago. I’m now on a medication that blocks those nerve receptors, it took about 3 months but I finally have relief.
Man, this is amazing to read someone actually figuring something like "itchy scalp" out without any visual or testable conditions. I mean, I realize you had to see your PCP & two specialists, but that's actually super easy. So happy you got this figured out, to include a treatment that is working! I've been in medicine for years, and these types of things without obvious signs & symptoms usually go undiagnosed or it takes YEARS! Well done, Neuro! I hope your sharing helps someone else out who isn't as lucky or who doesn't have any or much access to healthcare (over half the population!) I hope I remember because it's these things that aren't common that are so helpful when a patient has everyone scratching their heads, and someone remembers reading about it- boom! They may solve the riddle rather than being another story of a person searching for years.
Omg wow, thank you for sharing! And I’m glad your scalp probs are gone :) . I had a sort or similar experience, a few years ago I was diagnosed with having a rare musculoskeletal/nerve/brain communication thingy problem. After being treated for awhile, which included receiving work on nerve receptors (? ) on my scalp (or whatever the proper term is lol) my hair, which I had been taking meds and seeing a Dermo for b/c it had become so thin and limp, suddenly like quadrupled in density and regained its natural curl pattern. It deepened in colour too. I’ve been able to ditch a cabinet full of volume boosting products. My Dermo said it was due to blood flow returning/increasing to the scalp/follicles. Even though it makes perfect sense, I was still completely mind blown, I never would’ve made that connection!
Love your channel, but I must disagree with your Steampod review. I have tried numerous flat irons, and the Steampod is the only iron that makes my hair shine. Since I started using it exclusively, I have found that I have fewer split ends. The steam also reduces frizz, and my hair is normally dry and frizzy (I have type 3C fine strands with highlights). Just haven't had the same results with anything else. Thanks for the amazing tips, though! 😀
I own Dyson wireless flat iron. It is amazing. I have curly/wavy corse hair. Dyson flat iron is the only one which could make my hair straight without to blow dry it first. I usually let it air dry, and then flat iron it. It always give me perfect sleek hair, and a lots of shine. I also use it as curling iron and gives me very nice beach style waves. I know the price tag is quite high but from my experience is worth it.
ohh honey, the kitchen is located at the nape of the neck, the area around the ears are just edges.anyway you saved me a lot of money for the holidays, love watching you.. "Hair needs moisture inside out" been doing that wrong thank you
Saw one video, then ended up watching 10! Thank you. I need a flat iron, unfortunately the Babyliss pro 😫 nano is not available in the UK🇬🇧 and titanium flat irons are not that popular over here. I sent back the dyson... didnt hold for my 4b hair
Awesome! Super smart to send back the Dyson. Ah man, I can't believe babyliss isn't available over there... I'll have to take a look at what's available for you guys
😳 ok I'm listening... when this man mentioned "the kitchen" section of hair he caught my attention! I haven't heard anyone use that term outside of a black beauty shop. 🤯☠️ I agree the babyliss nano is the best, I got one after using CHI for years and never looked back. Great video!
Chris, I love your channel and all the great information and tips!! I have incorporated a lot of them into my routine. The best one, only using heat every 3 days! I’ve been doing that for about a month and have seen a huge improvement! Love the healthy hair routine and your product recommendations too!
I have a T3 tourmaline flat iron for over 15 years now and it is still going strong. It makes my hair shiny. I feel no need to use heat protection spray and I have not burnt my hair with it. I did also buy a titanium flat iron (not babybliss) and for a non professional home user, I will never buy a titanium flat iron again. It burnt my hair many times. They are not user friendly for the non professional.
Ive bought expensive flat irons in the past like Babyliss and Rusk, but I never liked them. They snagged at my hair too much and didn't give me that smooth glide. I've been using the conair rainbow titanium flat iron for 2 years now and it's literally my favorite. It glides through my hair and never snags. I personally don't like ceramic ones because they never glide smoothly on my hair.
Another great video on how to make the best choices for hair care tools.. I honestly believe in the information you give us for the best hair care products out there . I truly value the information you provide us because I honestly have the best hair I have ever had in my life & I have used professional hair products for a long time but nothing has came close to what I use now so thanks again Chris ❤
I bought the GHD, returned it because it was the worst. Wouldn’t even smooth my already straight hair. My hair always looked frizzy and poofy. Got a Babyliss now and I absolutely love it.
I purchased the L’Oréal Steam pod Straightener as was lead to believe better for my bleached highlights. I also have the Cloud Nine Straightener actually find this one easier to use. Only just found your channel and am going through all your videos 😊.🇬🇧
I have a Steam-pod and I got it for over 40% reduced (because I used a coupon) and it is AMAZING, maybe it's just because I have healthier hair overall or because I got a keratin treatment, but my hair stays pin straight until I wash it, even when putting oil (which used to curl my hair right back) it stays perfectly straight
I remember getting a £200 (about $320 at the time) GHD in about 2005. It still works and is reasonably decent, though I very very rarely straighten my hair.
I got my first GHD in 2005 and kept it until 2018! I only replaced it because I felt the plates were beginning to have stick. I can’t recall keeping any other hair tool around for that long! I have already replaced my hairdryer 4 or 5 times.
I got my first ghd in 2004 and it's still working. I gave to my mom when I move out from home. My mom only uses the ghd, even though, she got the baby liss and Royale one. I've tried some like chi, infrared croc, Paul Mitchell, ans loreal stempod; I went back to ghd the 2 inches one and I absolutely love it, my hair feels soft and shiny. I never got it with the other flat irons.
Yes! Older irons were built so much better than today. Sounds like a grumpy old man thing to say. But if you have an old iron that still works... Keep it for as long as you can
Love for you to try the seamless 1 iron. Infrared. Not really for the consumer, more for hairdressers. Its top of the range and expensive. But worth it.
Real talk: I'm a black girl with 4C hair and I just straighten my hair with a curling iron because it get the job done beautifully ... is there any benefit of switching to a straight iron. Side note: I don't like my hair super straight, and dig the soft look curls bring.
If you don't want it super straight and you love it the way it is now... I would just keep doing what you're doing 👍 Don't be pressured into doing what everyone else does!
It would be very instructive and satisfying if you uploaded the whole ironing process from the begging till end. I think that that kind of videos would improve your channel even more, even if it is already one of the most interesting, dynamic and instructive yt channels for hair. It could be the whole series: professional blowout at salon, blowout at home, professional flat ironing at salon, flat ironing at home, professional curling ...... and so on and so forth. My opinion is that there is a lack of quality fot that kind of videos, and I think that lot of people really love to watch it, on one hand for getting an information from a professional, on the other hand for relaxing their mind. 💋
Hi! Honestly, I was saving money to buy the Steam Pod. However, after your (simple and honest) explanation, I realize that it really isn't worth it. I'll just stick with my old Remington straightening iron, which I only use about 4 times a year, yes, I only use it on occasions where I have to present myself with an impeccable and well-groomed look and it works perfectly! Thank you so much for sharing both your knowledge and experience! A kiss and keep up the good work! Maria (Portugal)
Do top blow dry brush review! I was eyeing the Hot Tools 1 step blowout & volumizer because using both a round brush and a blow dryer at the same time can be tiring
I’ve been using the same chi straightener since middle school and I never thought about buying a new one until I was staying at my aunts house and used her babyliss straightener… just wow. Made me want to throw away my chi forever 😅
I trust you with my hair washing/moisture routine. I am going to trust you with my flat iron purchase. I abuse the crap out of my flat irons, and I was going to get the very basic GHD my stylist uses, because she's had it as long as I have been seeing her. It's seen some things. But I am going to save $70 and do the babyliss.
I was surprised not to see the Chi irons on this. I love them and they have a great technology. I have not tried the nano and will say I will see how they stand up to my Chi irons. I have several of them and have not been disappointed at all. I can get smooth sleek results on y African American clients. Thank you for the info and will check out the nano.
@@BlowoutProfessor completely agree. The old ones were awesome. Nothing like them. The ones I have bought in the last 5 years are not good. Quality has gone down.

Hi Chris! First of all: you are really the best. Since I discovered you, my hair has improved a lot! And with a huge saving of money! I followed your advice and bought your products with a huge satisfaction! Unfortunately here in Europe it is very difficult if not impossible to find some… the Babyliss pro nano titanium, for example, is non-existent! There are a thousand versions of Babyliss flat iron, even pro, but not the one you recommend… have you any alternative, please??? (I saw the hydro ionic etc… or the pro titanium ionic…) Thank you so much for all!!! Bravo 👏🏻
Thank you so much for doing this video. I have been looking for an iron... very confusing to pick the best one for your hair. Thank you so much!!! Thanks for recommending Walmart. Ulta was charging $159 for #1. I paid $99 at Walmart!!!
I have purchased both the ghd platinum plus. The platinum plus stopped heating up after a year good they have good warranty sent me a new one but it doesn’t get hot enough for my hair type. and the t3 Id leaves my hair with a lot of frizz no matter my routine so it’s paper weight I wish I new this sooner 😂.
Hello chris i live in france and i can’t find the BabylissPRO ultra thin that you recommended, what do you advise me to buy as a hair straightener instead of the ultra thin ?
I have very long and thick hair so I find L’Oréal Steam pod very handy as does the job so quick. Yes, you can’t touch the roots with it but that’s not the problem for me as every time when I iron my roots they’re getting oily so quick!
I literally just bought the prima 3000. Haven’t even used it yet. I will keep it for now and if I don’t love it I will switch to your #1 choice. Great video! Thx!
@@BlowoutProfessor thank you so much!! You are literally my hair professor!! I’ve recommended your videos to family and friends!!! You’re doing a great job!
I am watching this because my GHD platinum plus broke lasted about 3 years and 2 months. The warranty is 3 years and you need your receipts. So never again GHD. Yes I have the babyliss ultra thin forever and it still works.
I always worry when picking an iron that if I get a cheap one I’ll be potentially damaging my hair so I want to invest in quality so it lasts me too. What irons should we avoid?
So I have been told that I should avoid titanium flat irons. My old stylist switched to this and I instantly had heat damage. My curls went bond straight. Then again it felt hotter and I think she damaged it on purpose.
Anyone out there still on this year old video? I can’t figure out if he is referring to the Babyliss pro nano titanium ionic or the digital one?? The one he says is best for flat iron curls? Both exist but the “digital” doesn’t seem to say ionic anywhere. Help??
Great breakdown and explanation! How do you feel about diluted ACV , to clean hair !? I have curly hair and always get recommended to cleanse my hair with diluted ACV in a spray bottle before shampoo; allegedly to remove product buildup.

My hair dresses uses a Babyliss on me and it steams to make my hair nice as well.
all your videos make my hair better and better everyday! I completely managed to protect my hair after going blonde with products you recommended
Accidentally stumbled right inside this party and I’m loving this guy!
I have the babyliss pro ultra-thin flat iron for nearly 10 years now and i really dont regret buying it!! Such a good flat iron!!
ohh honey, the kitchen is located at the nape of the neck, the area around the ears are just edges.anyway you saved me a lot of money for the holidays, love watching you..
@@BlowoutProfessor I live with n Europe and I cannot find BaByliss Nano Pro as well 😢😢😢 do you know something similar?
😳 ok I'm listening... when this man mentioned "the kitchen" section of hair he caught my attention! I haven't heard anyone use that term outside of a black beauty shop. 🤯☠️ I agree the babyliss nano is the best, I got one after using CHI for years and never looked back. Great video!
I have been deliberating between the Babyliss and Chi. What is better about the Babyliss?
No one does, lol. But we know the kitchen is at the nape
Chris, I love your channel and all the great information and tips!! I have incorporated a lot of them into my routine. The best one, only using heat every 3 days! I’ve been doing that for about a month and have seen a huge improvement! Love the healthy hair routine and your product recommendations too!
I bought a great one. Only used it 2 times though, nowdays I embrace my natural curls. I still gotta give it away to someone who would love it.
Christ I been learning so much about hair treatments and products that my hair now look healthy and shining thank you! Keep this amazing videos
I totally absolutely 100% love your honesty and your educational value of teaching us students how to work on our hair!!! The right way 😊
Appreciate you Mookey 🙏
Subscribed! You seem honest and to the point! Love it!!
I bought the GHD, returned it because it was the worst. Wouldn’t even smooth my already straight hair. My hair always looked frizzy and poofy. Got a Babyliss now and I absolutely love it.
I just ordered a GHD one and now confused. Would they let you return after trying it if itsnot good for my hair?
@@domenicaesposito5075 so I bought mine at Ulta and they have great return policy. Not sure how it would go if you purchased it straight from GHD.
My Babyliss is 12 years old. I straighten and curl my hair with it. Its the best thing ever.
Omg! Was seriously considering a Dyson hair tool, so glad I saw your video!!!! You ARE AMMMMMAAAAZING! Thank you for existing!
I have the Babyliss Prima 3000 and I love it!
I purchased the L’Oréal Steam pod Straightener as was lead to believe better for my bleached highlights. I also have the Cloud Nine Straightener actually find this one easier to use. Only just found your channel and am going through all your videos 😊.🇬🇧
Omg I bought the hot tools steam styler is it bad?!?
I have a Steam-pod and I got it for over 40% reduced (because I used a coupon) and it is AMAZING, maybe it's just because I have healthier hair overall or because I got a keratin treatment, but my hair stays pin straight until I wash it, even when putting oil (which used to curl my hair right back) it stays perfectly straight
I like the honest reviews !!
It helps a lot , thank you so much!!😊
I remember getting a £200 (about $320 at the time) GHD in about 2005.
Keep it for as long as you can
I have a ghd straightener that I purchased when I was in college . It still works a decade later 😂
If it's any help, I quite like the Babyliss Big Hair. I like that the brush has flexible bristles and rotates both ways at the push of a button.
Hey! This is my next project. There are a ton out there and I haven't tried nearly enough of them. Will start on it and have a video soon 👍
Thank you ❤ love your videos!
Remington proluxe flat iron is the best one I've tried. I only need to have it on like 170°C and the flat iron glides so smoothly through my hair.
Is it for curling and straightening both?
@@maryamijaz6334 you can definitely make curls with it
So glad I started following these videos. Thanks for the information.
The older ones are some of the best ever made! But more recently the build quality just isn't up to their old standards :(
@@BlowoutProfessor completely agree. The old ones were awesome. Nothing like them. The ones I have bought in the last 5 years are not good. Quality has gone down.
Thanks Chris for your honest video! Sadly i bought the GHD and tought it was e good investment😓
But trought your videos I am getting better to find the right produkts😍🙌🏻
Can you do the same type of videos for curling irons?🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
Absolutely! Will start working on it!
Hi Chris! You helped me so much with your videos!!! Unfortunately I can’t find your number 1 babyliss flat iron where I live. Could you give me any alternatives that I can get in Europe? I’d be grateful! Thank you for what you do, hugs from Italy ❤
I bought the #1 flat iron tonight because of you!
the stteampod is actually the best i ever had, my hair is very curly and the steampod makes it silky straight without damage, my hair feels so soft ! I bought it when i had blue hair lmao it was the only iron that didn't cause breakage
I just found your channel today, and I’m so excited! I love to learn about hair care products and appliances. You explain everything so well, and I really appreciate that! I subscribed to your channel after watching for about a minute, and I’m going to be binge watching your content for the next couple of days. Thank you so much for all the helpful info! 😍
Excited to have you! Hope you get amazing results :)

Thank you. My hair is in quite good shape now, and I’m not bad at styling it. I really think your tips will enable me take it to the next level though!
Finally someone shares my opinion about the Ghd platinum! The worst straightening tool I ever had and the reviews are great, I thought I was the only one who found it that bad!
Any recommendations for Europe? Can't find any of the babyliss you recommend
Ikr everything is ceramic.
Bravo 👏🏻
Same here. I couldn't understand which one to buy. There are so many options in babyliss Nano
Thank you so much for doing this video. I have been looking for an iron... very confusing to pick the best one for your hair. Thank you so much!!! Thanks for recommending Walmart. Ulta was charging $159 for #1. I paid $99 at Walmart!!!
I would love if you review the dyson hair products
Could u make a more specific video about titanium or ceramic which one is better?
I have purchased both the ghd platinum plus. The platinum plus stopped heating up after a year good they have good warranty sent me a new one but it doesn’t get hot enough for my hair type. and the t3 Id leaves my hair with a lot of frizz no matter my routine so it’s paper weight I wish I new this sooner 😂.
Hello chris i live in france and i can’t find the BabylissPRO ultra thin that you recommended, what do you advise me to buy as a hair straightener instead of the ultra thin ?
Hi Chris I have the chi straightener and I was wondering if it's a good straightener!!?
Would love to see a video like this about curling irons.
How about the HAI Convertible flat iron? I have had it 24 yrs and it still works!
Cloud Nine and ghd are the best. I am using them for years.
Is there any alternative of babylis for people living in Europe?
Hope you will make video about best blowdryers!
I can do that!
Do you recommend the Dyson styler or could you give a review o. it please. Love your videos.
Yay I asked for this vid!! Thank you!
I LOVE my Babyliss ultra thin flat iron.
I have very long and thick hair so I find L’Oréal Steam pod very handy as does the job so quick. Yes, you can’t touch the roots with it but that’s not the problem for me as every time when I iron my roots they’re getting oily so quick!
I was about to buy the ghd premium and im so glad I found your video
I literally just bought the prima 3000. Haven’t even used it yet. I will keep it for now and if I don’t love it I will switch to your #1 choice. Great video! Thx!
Absolutely!
How has it been? Do you like it?
@@stefanisoliman I really like it! It’s the best flat iron I’ve ever used.
Can you do blow dryer brushes next please 🙏🏼
Absolutely! This is next on my list but I have to buy and try a bunch of them :)
Chris I love your videos and my hair as improved steadily . Please think of doing a video for all of us with short hair !! Please
Hi Chris, Can you please recommend hair products for coloured hair.
PLEASE do the same kind of video but about hair dryers, please!
He did do a video on dryers. Look on his channel under videos I believe.
Hi Chris- Great Videos- Very informative. Hope you do one video for after Keratin dos and don'ts.
Help??
Thank you for another informative video! Can you please do one on your top curling tools please 🙏
Thank you so much you saves me from buying the GHD. Thankful for a man’s opinions because women are much more spend happy.
Great breakdown and explanation!
How do you feel about diluted ACV , to clean hair !? I have curly hair and always get recommended to cleanse my hair with diluted ACV in a spray bottle before shampoo; allegedly to remove product buildup.
Where have you been all my life. Thanks.for all the information
Whats your opinion on ionic flat irons? Specifically the bio ionic ones
Hi Chris, I have a question. Why are a lot of products unsealed? Even super expensive live in conditioners, what’s your opinion on that? Thank you for all your advice!
Would you talk about ketatin treatments & Brazilian blowouts??? For people with curly/texture hair? What about fine curly hair???
Please go over hair care for perm hair, and co-washing in place of shampoo
Hi there the video was very helpfull
But I want to know you opinion about the Moroccan oil straightener is it good ?
Respectfully 😊
Hi Chris, the babyliss nano Titanium is not available in UK I'm afraid 😢 any other recommendations? Thank you, you're the best❤
Wait three days. Flashback to me in high school in the early 00s, straightening my hair daily lol.
😂Me too. Still doing it.... I wake up like a scarecrow. I can't go to work like that 🙈
Could you please make a video on anti-humidity sprays and give some recommendations? Thanks!
Yes! Thank you for the idea 🙏
What a great video! Thank you! Could you please tell us about blowing brushes too? As the revlon one. I saw it in your hands in one of your videos.
