My whole life I was Christian, and I know something was different about me since I was 3. I wished I was born a girl, and hated God for it... Then I started praying and asking for him to fix me.... And it never happened. Last year I turned my back on God. I felt like he hated me and didn't love me. People told me im an abomination because I have started transitioning. I know who I am and I thought God made me just so I could suffer...But you just gave me hope. You just restored my faith in God. God bless you... Please find a Unitarian Universalist Church, they will love you as you are and for who you want to be, they will accept your transitioning without a blink of an eye and if you want they can help mend your relationship with God. If not feel free to come in as an agnostic or atheist, sometimes you just need an accepting community and a place to feel like yourself! Cheers!

I came very close to not watching this, I’m glad something compel me to watch and listen. I am now 72 years old transition at age of 68. Sadly in my life journey I hurt a lot of people with 3 marriages, 7 children two step, i adopted. I have known since very young that I was different. Growing up in South Texas it wasn’t easy. Of all my children only 2 speak to me, one biological one step. I got my degree at a Southern Baptist University, worked as a Social Worker. I left my church life for many years until I found a Uu Church in Ohio that accepted me, I deeply regretted the people I hurt in my life simply because I didn’t stand up for myself and let the real me be me. I thank you for your sermon I hope it will reach as many people as possible. Especially other trans people like myself self that want to be close to g_d. May the Lord Bless you and that your message reach as many hearts as possible.

How i wish I had known a pastor like you .. a church like yours. it would have saved so much suffering. What a beautiful, brave true man of faith🙏🙏🙏 As Stan Lee once said " With great power comes great responsibility" Throughout the centuries and til to this day we've seen examples of how religion, faith, spirituality has been instrumentalized mostly for power, gains, agenda or often to clock most unethical things. This is the true and right purpose of faith and religion. Kudos to the Pastor for having enough humanity and bravery in him to use his influence for an issue that isn't necessarily related to him yet he felt enough moral responsibility as a man of God. If we have more examples like that in the world , there would be less chaos and more energy to channel to create more positive changes in the world so that humanity would excel in more ways than we could've ever imagine.

As someone who has faith and always been uneasy about theology at the denominational level, it's so great to see a preacher from an evangelist church listen to those who are every day people talk about a modern day topic.

I was so scared. I was trying desperately to find a Christian resource that wouldn't shame me; that wouldn't tell me to repress or deny. I've repressed and denied for my entire life. God does not want a life of dissatisfaction and sadness for me, and I can feel that. I will use this resource in my attempt to explain my feelings to my parents, who are Baptists. I have been a Christian for most of my life. I recently realized my spirit should be only to love, pray, and understand. My role is never to judge. Jesus role modeled his unbounding love by seeing people and healing people without their social acceptance.
I have always mused about the diversity of our creator when a hermaphrodite is born. This expose is brilliant and challenging to the thought. Doctors are now allowing these special people to make their own decisions about gender instead of physically assigning a gender at birth and later discovering this person did .not identify with the physician's choice of gender. It is too bad the writers of ancient scripture did not have this knowledge, although enough is written about eunuchs that a closer look might make the most ardent of traditional evangelicals to pause and give thought. This is one rare pastor that is eloquent, engaging, and compassionate.

This is rare within the Church. Most can't grasp the fact, or they do but it's too frightening, that trans and gays are born the way they are. Because if they are born that way, and God knows all of us before we're even born and created us wonderfully, then God had to have created gays and trans people. Why? Only He knows this.
All the negative comments are from people who just call this man a conforming leftist or a sinful heathen and just take verses out of context without elaborating why he's wrong. Really goes to show how these people will immediately disregard anything that doesn't line up with their interpretation of the Christian belief.

I may not be religious but I am spiritual. I don't think I will ever have faith in any religion but I do have faith in God. Pastor Wingfield is a wonderful man. I may not know him in person but from this that is what I get. I am a trans woman who is an ordained minister. My calling was not to preach but provide comfort. God does want each and every one of us in the community to know no matter what religion may tell us we are loved. I always looked at my being born male as my trial. Every one is given their own trial in life. This is mine as I believe it is many others.

Thank you Pastor, I turned away from faith long ago and have since developed my own beliefs in my own way, but you have made me realize that those around me who denounce my existence in the name of God are not doing so because of their religion, but because of their own fears and bigotries. I came very close to not watching this, I’m glad something compel me to watch and listen. I am now 72 years old transition at age of 68. Sadly in my life journey I hurt a lot of people with 3 marriages, 7 children two step, i adopted. I have known since very young that I was different. Growing up in South Texas it wasn’t easy. Of all my children only 2 speak to me, one biological one step. I got my degree at a Southern Baptist University, worked as a Social Worker. I left my church life for many years until I found a Uu Church in Ohio that accepted me, I deeply regretted the people I hurt in my life simply because I didn’t stand up for myself and let the real me be me. I thank you for your sermon I hope it will reach as many people as possible. Especially other trans people like myself self that want to be close to g_d. May the Lord Bless you and that your message reach as many hearts as possible.
PROFOUNDLY moving. I am old, but after a lifetime of trying to fit into the evangelical church, I left back in 2001. How i wish I had known a pastor like you .. a church like yours. it would have saved so much suffering. At the same time, it's because of those years of suffering, I let nothing whatsoever stand in the way of loving all who, like myself, are the outcasts. When I lived in Hawaii, the church I went to welcomed everyone. We were a very small church. The people in this church are the reason I am a Christian today. God loves us all.

What a beautiful, brave true man of faith🙏🙏🙏 As Stan Lee once said " With great power comes great responsibility" Throughout the centuries and til to this day we've seen examples of how religion, faith, spirituality has been instrumentalized mostly for power, gains, agenda or often to clock most unethical things. This is the true and right purpose of faith and religion. Kudos to the Pastor for having enough humanity and bravery in him to use his influence for an issue that isn't necessarily related to him yet he felt enough moral responsibility as a man of God. If we have more examples like that in the world , there would be less chaos and more energy to channel to create more positive changes in the world so that humanity would excel in more ways than we could've ever imagine.

As someone who has faith and always been uneasy about theology at the denominational level, it's so great to see a preacher from an evangelist church listen to those who are every day people talk about a modern day topic.
I am very emotional. There is a girl inside. I am absolutely brought to tears. My thought is for those of us who are a trans woman. we are called to live a Godly life as a woman. I haven’t officially come out. I am spending time with Jesus, & letting my hair grow. i need help with my voice.

my question is how do you all consider presenting the teaching of the Word as judgement? I was so scared. I was trying desperately to find a Christian resource that wouldn't shame me; that wouldn't tell me to repress or deny. I've repressed and denied for my entire life. God does not want a life of dissatisfaction and sadness for me, and I can feel that. I will use this resource in my attempt to explain my feelings to my parents, who are Baptists. Maybe to see a person of deep faith practicing true compassion and love will be the push needed so that I can keep their love. Thank you for being the voice in a room of silence.

I have always mused about the diversity of our creator when a hermaphrodite is born. This expose is brilliant and challenging to the thought. Doctors are now allowing these special people to make their own decisions about gender instead of physically assigning a gender at birth and later discovering this person did .not identify with the physician's choice of gender. It is too bad the writers of ancient scripture did not have this knowledge, although enough is written about eunuchs that a closer look might make the most ardent of traditional evangelicals to pause and give thought. This is one rare pastor that is eloquent, engaging, and compassionate.
Interesting you should say this, because God is neither male or female, in himself he is simply spirit, the male and female come because of the nature of the flesh, what is also interesting is this, that the first man that came into being was hermaphrodite, male and female as one, this is why it is written that woman came out of man and they were separated.

This is rare within the Church. Most can't grasp the fact, or they do but it's too frightening, that trans and gays are born the way they are. Because if they are born that way, and God knows all of us before we're even born and created us wonderfully, then God had to have created gays and trans people. Why? Only He knows this.

Wow. There are so many comments about how wrong he is as a pastor. Why can't, instead, if you disagree with a part of it, just take the good aspects of it away? One of the bottom lines of this talk was that people should be loved; regardless of sexuality or identity, people should be loved as anyone should.
A Pastor has a special calling. And that is to share God's truth: God's word. And not peoples personal opinions. God does not need his help. He is deceived.

The better question is why would you want to base your eternal life on something that is always changing and is evidence of being unreliable? What age in history was perfect and unchanging? What age of human knowledge was unchanging and reliable? Try whatever you like. But you will undoubtedly when you get up close and personal see the INFERIORITY in that which is set up as an alternative to what the Bible professes. AND IT HAS BEEN PROVEN. YOU ARE JUST UNEDUCATED IN SUCH MATTERS!!!

I may not be religious but I am spiritual. I don't think I will ever have faith in any religion but I do have faith in God. Pastor Wingfield is a wonderful man. I may not know him in person but from this that is what I get. I am a trans woman who is an ordained minister. My calling was not to preach but provide comfort. God does want each and every one of us in the community to know no matter what religion may tell us we are loved. I always looked at my being born male as my trial. Every one is given their own trial in life. This is mine as I believe it is many others.
So wholesome and pure, to think people are so enraged by this discussion really confuses me more than anything
