It's incredible that Bruce came off a big Maiden tour then straight into a solo tour then straight back into a Maiden tour again. His energy is unbelievable.
I’m sure money plays a roll of course, but this is what a band does. This is what musicians do! They play music! It’s all they know and it is what they love to do most. The road is their home. The crowds and fans are their family. The fact they are arguably bigger than ever and still performing at the top of their game, releasing new material with subsequent sold out tours to accompany the new music, they will carry on until they can no longer deliver the goods. They have become absolute legends and deserve everything that comes their way. I’ve been an Iron Maiden fan since the summer of 1983 and play drums in an Iron Maiden tribute band! They are the best of the best. And so are their dedicated fans.

I've been a Maiden fan for 35 years now. I've been with them through ups and downs. When Bruce got throat cancer, I resigned myself to the belief that his voice would never be the same again. There are performances he did in the Mandrake Project Tour that rival performances he did 30 years ago. Amazing! This is my favorite band. They got me into heavy metal and they have been a part of my life since I was first introduced to them. I've met them a number of times. Bruce is shockingly down to Earth, very intellectual, very creative, very funny and just a really nice guy. Great video!

You can say current lineup since ‘99, but an alternate way of looking at it is all members have been members since ‘90, with a couple of breaks. And those breaks were overlapping, so it’s not like there were massive changes, they we incremental. These guys knew each other and grew into the great 6 piece band most of us love. It was all an intertwined web.

I saw them in Japan and put my signature under all you said... I want to add, what I liked specially about the event is, that they don't use huge video screens to distract. They use the small horizontal next to the backdrop, and then the screens on the side for the camera work (which es exceptional good) so all can see also close-ups, even sitting in the back. The way they create sceneries is totally unique. Not relying on fancy video-production on a huge LED wall, but simply relaying on their music, fantastic lightning design, some changing backdrops and Eddie. I had several moments, where I was just standing there, crying because of happiness, and dancing around...
I was at Rod Laver the friday night and had a vip ticket and went to the vip trooper party before the concert. It was awesome. The concert itself was the best night i have ever had in my life. They were absolutely brilliant. Still on a high from that night.
Saw this show a couple of years ago when they started the first leg in the UK it was awesome. Seen Maiden many times over the years and never have been disappointed. Whether playing a regular tour show or headlining Donnington they always give it 100 percent. Hence the reputation as one of the greatest live bands around. Good to see a video from someone who's never seen them before, hopefully now a convert to the Maiden army! Up the Irons!!

THE band for me since the age of 10 (1981). Seen them live so many times, the first one being in Stockholm 1986 on the Somewhere On Tour. No other band comes close for me. Just the other day we get tickets for their upcoming tour 2025 Run For Your Lives World Tour, Stockholm in June, going with my grown-up kids, also Maiden fans. 🙂
I saw them in Auckland and they were great. Crowd was into it. Bruce sounds like he did 40 years ago. Adrian Smith and Dave Murray's solos are faultless.
IM is defiantly in my top 3 concerts of all time. 2003 Iron Maiden headlined for DIO and Motothead. The other two were 2018 Hammerfall opening for Delain and DIO solo performance in a 2500 seat club.

Ive seen them 31 times, starting back in 1983. Next week will be 2 more times in Tokyo! I have seen hundreds of shows, even spent a lot of time backstage as a musician in a former life. And Iron Maiden is the only band I will get on a plane and fly around the world to see, they have never let me down, and the fans are always great. They always play Doctor Doctor by UFO before they come on, and us fans treat it like one of theirs and sing along, its amazing.

I saw them on the last tour ,not seen them since no Prayer live and I reckon Bruce sounded better than he did back in the 90s . He cant run around like he used to but he focuses more on the vocals now and he hits all the notes that he might have pulled out of 30 years ago.Totally blown away.I cant believe I still follow a band I liked in 1982
Maiden are THE best band in the world ive been into them since the eighties and seen them live many times they always put on an amazing show saw this one last year in England awesome up the IRONS
Wow, I'm amazed that these guys are still going as strong as they are. As a Brit I remember seeing them on The Killers tour when Adrian Smith had just joined. For me Maiden and Saxon were the best live but it was Maiden that launched into a realm of their own 🎸🎶👍
You'd be surprised how much energy they have. I saw them in 2019 here in UK, Steve, Adrian and Dave played thier iron maiden football team against a local small football club for charity event the afternoon before being on stage that night. I'd be flipping knackered 😂.
I used to be an absolute diehard maiden fan back in the day and then I started listening to some other stuff when bruce left for a bit in the 90s (I love the stuff they did then too just as much) and went thru a phase of listening to marylin manson before a couple of years back I met my old history teacher on the street. he is an awesome guy who owned every single iron maiden did on vinyl and it gave me the idea to stick powerslave on in the car and I now listen to them every day like I did when I was a kid! I really want to see them live now :)
Iron Maiden are very consistent and still full of invention and new ideas for their music! This is very unlike many other sometimes much younger bands! I hope to see IM live soon back here in London!👌🙂❤
I was fortunate enough to see them on the Piece of Mind, Powerslave and Somewhere in Time tours all for less than $100 total for all 3 shows! Now tickets are $300, I can't go for that, no can do!
I’m 57. My first concert was Maiden’s “Piece of Mind” tour, 1983 in Lincoln, Nebraska. I haven’t actively consumed their new material since “Powerslave,” but they are without fail the band I see every time they’re nearby. Best bang for the concert buck, from the musicianship and vocals to the pure theater of it. They were my first, they’ll be my last. I’m largely ambivalent when bands past their prime finally retire, but I will genuinely grieve when Maiden hangs it up. And I have a feeling they will do so when they know it’s time vs. milk it for years beyond when they’re worth seeing. If I have one critique of Maiden, it’s that I wish they’d work with a producer who could reconnect them to the classic Maiden sound, like Priest and Accept did. As RazorFist put it, this is a band that hasn’t been told no for 40 years, and it frequently shows in their studio output. But live? Few if any rivals.
@@dibber43 yeah I noticed that they left some of their catalogue off the list in this “Future Past” tour. Probably as they were focusing on a specific time period. However pretty good that they have that many great songs to choose from 🤘
Nice, short summary, which I agree with. I’ve followed Maiden since the 80s, they’re probably my all time favourite band. Saw them here in Adelaide a fortnight ago and, yes, they still impress! 🤘😎🇦🇺🤘

You had really great seats, up towards the back. That's a contradiction of terms if ever I've heard them. I was standing about 5 metres from the stage. That's the great place to be.
@@carncats07 😂 I’ve been to many concerts on the floor in front of the stage like where you were and it’s great. This time being in the centre up the back was actually a good place to be. Rarely get seats but to see the full scope of the stage and hear the sound really well it was actually good place to be.
A Maiden fan since 1980. First saw them in 1981 and last saw them for this tour in 2023, and about 20 in between. You've done a nice job at capturing the essence of Maiden as a band and as live performers. Their drop-off after 40+ years has been negligible, if at all, and in many respects they're a more impressive band today than they were in the 80s.
@talismanmia2537 thanks for sharing that. That’s great to hear that the quality hasn’t dropped off since then. Testament to their passion and work ethic. A great show.
I'm seeing them in November. Never seen them before and really looking forward to it. Loved them since I was a kid and just have to see them once because I know with each year the chances go down.
I caught on to Maiden around the Powerslave Tour. Loved them, and I've seen them several times in their heyday. I can honestly say that they are not what they used to be, as none of us are. I only hope they have the good sense to call it a day while they are still ahead.
I saw them in Birmingham (UK) last year, and I completely agree. So professional. At one point Bruce was talking in between songs and starts with “Let me tell you a story. There was once a man who lived a long time ago”. At this Steve Harris starts signalling to other band members trying to get everyone to change any effects they have set up and letting Nikko know that they might be playing the songs out of the usual order. He has picked up on Bruce introducing the wrong song. However I think it was probably the lighting and effects team that subtly let him know that to change at such short notice is not possible. He tried to keep the show cohesive for the audience. Just a Bruce finishes speaking, Steve taps him on the shoulder and tells him that he has just introduced the wrong song. Bruce returns to the microphone and starts again. “Let me tell you a story, There was once a man who introduced the wrong song… Heaven Can Wait!!!” The song kicked off as soon as the last word left his lips. A classy recovery bu Bruce, followed by a tight start to the song by the band. Amazing.
When it comes to live bands, Iron Maiden is Top of the pyramid. Maiden is untouched! They have always been a live band and that is where they shine!!!! See if you can I have been a fan for 43 years and they have never let me down even during the Blaze years they gave it their all. Up The Irons🤘⚒️🔥🤘
Saw the first of the Sydney shows. Having seen them in the 80's I figured it was kinda now or never to see them again. Enjoyed it immensely as did my 25 year old daughter
Bro i went to Auckland and I agree. I thought they felt younger on stage than many more contemporary bands. A reminder that they have much more gas in the tank than we assume.
I saw them recently in Leeds; first time in a while. Was fully prepared for them to take it easy, but great chr*st they were fantastic. Unreal energy. There's just some magical gear they've been able to unlock that's insanely far out of reach for 99.9999999% of bands. Bruce is a generational freak of nature...in the best way.
I saw them atca festival in Australia about 10 years ago and they were still very energetic. I think the band are still a good show but retaining the energy and vocals for another decade might be a hard ask.

@@MB-oc1nw noticed the same about the solos….amazing at how precise and well they play!
Everytime i see them they get better and absolutely can't wait for the new tour in the uk they age like a fine wine
IM is defiantly in my top 3 concerts of all time. 2003 Iron Maiden headlined for DIO and Motothead. The other two were 2018 Hammerfall opening for Delain and DIO solo performance in a 2500 seat club.
That would of been a great lineup to see! 😮
I thank God and life that this Nov, will be my 10th Maiden show since 05, and looking foward to next tour 2025/26, So much great memories... Il go see them till the end, Long live Iron Maiden 🤘🤘
@@5chevin5 wow 31 times! That’s amazing! However I can understand that! Have a great time in Tokyo!
Only seen them once in 2018 but they were amazing been a fan since I was 13 in 83.
Wow
@@HasselDaHoff25 Honestly that was probably one of the best sets you could have seen. Legacy was an absolute banger of a tour.
I am waiting for the show in december, greetings from Argentina!!
@@IanPotts-lv6os I’m late to the party…but I can see why they have such loyal fans now!
Thanks for sharing that, it’s funny how music can come back around into your life 😊
Iron Maiden are very consistent and still full of invention and new ideas for their music! This is very unlike many other sometimes much younger bands! I hope to see IM live soon back here in London!👌🙂❤
@@miroslavnovak6567 agree with this!
The last Maiden show I went to had me standing in the middle of the arena with both middle fingers extended at the stage. Almost 20 yrs ago now
I was fortunate enough to see them on the Piece of Mind, Powerslave and Somewhere in Time tours all for less than $100 total for all 3 shows! Now tickets are $300, I can't go for that, no can do!
Maiden are one of the best live bands going. Absolutely killing it, up the Irons!
@@Warnugget1 absolutely agree with this!
Saw them last year. They were, save for Nicko, as good as ever. I'll be there next year!
Fan since 1984. Only seen them once though and that was an awesome night I’ll never forget
Great review!! Thanks for your insight sir! 😊
YEP ... i was there in Melbourne as well ... seen Maiden many times & i'm always super impressed ... they're the best ... Up The Irons !
@@spelldorado22 Agree🤘🔥
I've seen them 17 times, in 4 countries and 7 states. And when they come around in 2025, I'll see them again. Best live band, no contest.
great band. been going to their shows for the last 44 years!!! nice review! have a great day!!!
@@zeplica2004 thanks so much! The show was amazing, so entertaining!
One of the Greatest bands of all time ! 🤘
How they are playing LIVE is AMAZING!!!
The only downfall for me is that they aren't playing enough older songs.
@@dibber43 yeah I noticed that they left some of their catalogue off the list in this “Future Past” tour. Probably as they were focusing on a specific time period. However pretty good that they have that many great songs to choose from 🤘
Nicko can't play older stuff anymore after his stroke
No just this tour is more of the later songs. The older ones are no more fast or furious than ones they did.
Im very glad they play more newer songs, i would love more from senjutsu and less run to the hills, number of the beast, the trooper etc
But they are the ultimate classics, at least did the Trooper.
I saw them in Adelaide for their "Future past" tour. They rocked it out totally.
Great review... Saw them in Auckland Monday night and I agree with you 💯
@@possibleot1167 thanks mate! Amazing band!
Nice, short summary, which I agree with. I’ve followed Maiden since the 80s, they’re probably my all time favourite band. Saw them here in Adelaide a fortnight ago and, yes, they still impress! 🤘😎🇦🇺🤘
@@badmotorbreath5206 Agree, they are an amazing live act. What bands would you put in your top 5?
@@chris_williams_music aahhh, that’s a tough question and it’s changed over the years. I’d say now, in no particular order;
Iron Maiden
Megadeth
Soundgarden
Alice in Chains
Faith No More
Closely followed by TOOL, Metallica, Slayer, Anthrax, Gojira and Mastodon
Ok, more like a Top 10+!😉
What about you?
@@badmotorbreath5206 that’s actually a great 5 there….I thought Soundgarden might be in there somewhere.
So hard to make a definitive 5, but I’d have a list including these….
Fleetwood Mac
Guns and Roses
Soundgarden
Smashing Pumpkins
Metallica
Queen
U2
Iron Maiden
@@chris_williams_music yeah, tbh, I do have a man crush on Chris Cornell from all his bands …may he RIP.

Never got into Maiden except for a few songs.....But I always like to listen top Bruce sing anything.
Fantastic opinion and I loved it as well. They certainly ticked every box
@@AndrewBarr-k3x thanks mate! Agree!
Some things you can always count on in life, death, taxes and a great Maiden performance 😊
My two favourite acts, the Stones and Prince - excellent portraits behind you on the wall. Classic Jagger/Richards pic from '76
@@ghurley2269 your the first comment on those! 🏆 Appreciate you noticing! That’s exactly right on the Jagger/Richards pic…Koln,Germany 1976!!
I'm seeing them in November. Never seen them before and really looking forward to it. Loved them since I was a kid and just have to see them once because I know with each year the chances go down.
@@HamanKarn567 they Definately put on a good show, that’ll be awesome!
I caught on to Maiden around the Powerslave Tour. Loved them, and I've seen them several times in their heyday. I can honestly say that they are not what they used to be, as none of us are. I only hope they have the good sense to call it a day while they are still ahead.
@@chazk1234able good opinion mate! Yeah I never saw them back in the day! I imagine they have changed somewhat.
Saw them last year in Birmingham, England and will see them next year again in the same place!! 🤘🏻😎
may see you there then - tickets already bought ;)
@@andycross5801 same as!! UP THE IRONS!! 🤘🏻😎
“Let me tell you a story, There was once a man who introduced the wrong song… Heaven Can Wait!!!”
The song kicked off as soon as the last word left his lips.
A classy recovery bu Bruce, followed by a tight start to the song by the band.
Amazing.
I saw the show in Adelaide, honestly best show I have seen, and I have seen the all from slayer to behemoth. HOnestly Maiden was the best.

Looking forward to seeing Iron Maiden #8 next month. Just saw Judas Priest #5 tonight. Metallica #9 was last month. It's been a good year for METAL.
I saw them recently in Leeds; first time in a while. Was fully prepared for them to take it easy, but great chr*st they were fantastic. Unreal energy.
