Excellent video! The new intro is incredible! Very good detail regarding headquarters, driving test, load board, hooking and paperwork for delivery 🚚!! This will be the video many will use when exploring transport driving! Excellent video, great 👍 job to you and Chris!! and be safe!! Look forward to the next video!!
You guys did a great job with the video and explaining what to expect on the first load I am thinking of doing this I am burnt out at my job after 24 years and just bought a new 1 ton short box ford have a great day be safe.
Great information! I just purchased a truck near my retirement... I'm planning to get started part time in the Tow-Away business. I look forward to more videos and hope I can be somewhat successful!
Great video. I was just approved to drive for Horizon and was looking for video to explain what I needed in order to be ready for orientation. This was perfect. Thanks!
Good video. I did it for a year for Star Fleet out of Elkhart In. when I lived in Chillicothe Mo. Would leave home on Sunday afternoon and get into Elkhart, pick up my trailer and then drive for two hours, pull over and sleep. I would either take one long trip a week or two short ones that would equal one long one and be home on Friday morning or afternoon. My wife would occasionally go with me. It was fun except going into Canada in the winter.
I really enjoyed the video. The most info about the orientation process that I’ve seen. Thanks for taking the time to explain the process so completely.
It was apparent from this video that he had already gone through orientation and was documenting his experience of such. I for one am thankful that he provided that valuable information. So thank you for taking the time to explain the testing portion of the orientation process.
Most excellent video. Thank you. You mentioned a non ELD load. What is that and do you have to run an ELD after you have delivered? Thanks again for the help.
I wish I had known about this service when I was MUCH , MUCH younger. This would've been an absolute dream job for me !!! More over , what a selfless person you are for wanting to share and help others to benefit from these completely "Step by Step" videos for those able to take a shot at this. May God reward you for wanting to help others .
Thanks Guys...I am looking at drive away for starters. have a Class A cdl with the endorsements. Stay Safe. Looking forward to your future videos. Hope to see you all on the Road.
Hello, I just recently found your channel and subscribed after watching the first 2 videos. However, this particular video was the best of all I've watched since my interest in RV transport came about 3 weeks ago-- fantastic content! I have been communicating with Horizon but have not taken the leap just yet. I am planning to continue my full time job for at least another year but would love to try out the business a few times a month to figure out if it's for me. Thanks again for the great level of detail.
Just pointing out I think the battery to be one of those little small sealed lead acid batteries like used to fit in spotlights. Is Billy supposed to be on the trailer not the truck, but are they requiring you to keep an xtra on the truck? That big one would be kind of hard to mount on most trailers where they use the small tiny battery box.. maybe these guys are using a little something different than the ones I remember. 😅 Yeah I have fun thanks for the video.
So with a load board I'm guessing there's no dispatch. What do you do for backhauls. How many miles per day are you expected to drive. Did you have to pay toll road fees or do you have pre pass.
Thank you thank you thank you for all that content. You answered about 90% of my questions in that video. I probably will be ready next year to start my adventure doing this. I am waiting on having surgery on my nerves on both arms for both hands. The are what the dr said is captured whatever that means. But you have helped me 100% towards my goal. The only question you can help answer is on the non cdl side can A) I haul 5th wheel and B) can I for my safety run electronic log book??
Easier then OTR Big rig's. But I understand that you pay for your own way back to pick up another unit. If so that can really eat up some of your profits.
You absolutely cannot make any money at 1.80 mile with fuel prices 4.50 gallon truck note insurance truck repairs eats etc no loads back to Goshen IN unless you retired and have a pension or Social security you need medical Ins if they offer it it's high as nuts don't get into it unless you have plenty of money in the Bank 😮😮
Great job guys. You definitely put alot of work into this video and I'm sure lost some valuable time off your clock taking the extra time to film all the little details. Much appreciated! Stay safe out there!
Such a great video. Lots of helpful information from the beginning to the end. Keep up the great videos and see you down the road. Look forward to seeing what you come up with for a giveaway. Keep the wheels rolling.
Amazing video guys and keep the information coming! I plan to get into this in about 2 years after I retire from the military so I'm trying to get as much information as I can now. I do have 2 questions for you. 1- You didn't mention checking the tire pressure on the trailer but I assume you do that after checking the lug nuts. 2- Is there an inspection of the roof of the RV? Seems to me that there could be damage there from the driver. Haven't heard it mentioned anywhere yet. Thanks again and I'll check in again for your driver number once I'm ready to go. Hopefully you're still working for Horizon!
I thought we put tire pressure in that video maybe not I have done several videos that cover the fact that you need to do that. I don’t check the roof because if I were to climb up there in the latter ripped out of the side of the trailer I would be liable for that damage and there is no compensation if I were to fall off the ladder and hurt myself. In one of my videos I took a trailer and when I got to delivery the roof was destroyed they sent it back And they paid me to take it back
It was good seeing you today at the camping world in Avondale maybe next time we can hook up and talk about my experience working for Horizon I’m going on a month here on the 16th give me a call whenever you get a chance thanks awesome video
I think this was a great video . I am in the process of retiring from heavy equipment type work and have 45 years CDL-A. I have been considering during transport work as a way to see some of America. I have a international 4700 four-door western hauler for my personal truck to pull my personal camper would consider using it but fuel efficiency may eat up to much profit. I get 8- 9.5 mpg pulling a 42’. 20,000# toy hauler. But only 10.5 no trailer. I also have a 1999 2500 Dodge . How many miles can you make on a good long day?
I have been watching you here on your channel . Thank you for all the great info. In this video you said nothing about a floor jack as far equipment that you would need to change a tire.
I’m thinking about getting in to RV transport. I just don’t know how to go about it or know how much money I could make. I’m based out of Hamel IL. I’m a Hvac tech at the moment.
When you are transporting those units do you still have to get a hotel to sleep or can you sleep in the unit? I have been driving tractor trailers since 2007. I'm looking for a change of pace and a little bit slower environment as I enter towards retirement years. I live in Avondale. Are there regular runs from Indiana to Phoenix delivering units? And are there units going from Phoenix back to indiana?
Can you do more videos showing the load board. I want to make the jump to horizon, but I need to see what type of work they got. Is the load Consistent?
It pays to learn your HOOnce you deliver and you are headed home you go on personal conveyance. You are not on the clock. You can also use personal conveyance when you are out of driving hours for the day and you need a place to park. Just note Personal Conveyance to drive to safe haven parking, Off Duty.
Great job on the information and the video. Really kicking up from the beginnings. You can do a third channel on how to be a you tube hero. Thank you for sharing and have a great night!
no pins in the saddle brackets when he hooked up.. and you should never use hands always the bar to raise the brackets and never pull the bar off when its not pinned in place
@@fairwindsfollowingseas7909 I'm not disagreeing to anything I liked the video. Never seen any hot shot drivers do any of this type of video before. I work at an rv dealership and I've done a lot of towing. also seen people with broken legs because they didn't have a pin in the saddle bracket.. But that would make good content for a video haha. Keep doing what your doing
Awesome videos! Question about the toolbox and transfer tank. Our tool box and tank sit slightly above the top edge of the bed like where the bed rail would be. Is that allowed?
🤣 lol words are hard!!!!! Great job guys.. a long awaited video.. that make sense? Ok anyway now any new person can just be referred to go watch this video.. so ya cool 👍 keep up the vids.. God bless and stay safe..!!!!!
Good video. Is Horizon willing to work with the drivers and keep them in certain areas if they want. I'm interested in staying on the east coast and as far west as Texas.
what an EPIC! sounding intro! never have trucks n stuff been so epic.
Best RV Transport video that I’ve seen. Great job and thank you.
Thank you. Glad I could help
this was an incredibly awesome video,...answers SOOOOOO many questions about getting started and whats needed

Great video. Can't wait to start my journey. Keep then coming!
After seeing they have a dress code, I am really happy to see those shorts and flip flops in the yard. And thanks for the great videos!
Ummmm.......when in Rome?
Great information! I just purchased a truck near my retirement... I'm planning to get started part time in the Tow-Away business. I look forward to more videos and hope I can be somewhat successful!

Great video well explained answered lost of questions I was wondering about.
First aid kit is not required. It’s also no good for emergency situations. It is, however, great to have for cuts and burns and things like that.

Quick tip, do videos with the camera showing the scenery and viewers hearing your voice. Most people don't want to stare at a face the whole video...
When you are transporting those units do you still have to get a hotel to sleep or can you sleep in the unit? I have been driving tractor trailers since 2007. I’ve done a few discussing the load board but it changes every day so it’s impossible to say any kind of consistency one week is great one is not

Where do you sleep and do you have a log.
What about a back hall?
Is Chris truck right hand drive. It looked like it did in the video
No. In “selfie” setting images are reversed
they have made some serious changes since I hauled for them back in 08'... the place doesn't look like such a dump!
Whats the return loadboard look like
Great info also that is one awesome beard sir

Very Informative Bro! Thank you
No sway control?
The weight distribution hitch is the requirement for horizon
How big a truck do I need (350-450)to haul the biggest of trailers or fifth wheels
Did they tell you there is no money in that RV transporting
So how and what type of loads do you get after the drop off or do you have to drive straight back to the yard?
Dude, Bad Ass information, thank you.
You do realize Horizon Transport insurance does not cover animal damage if a deer comes out of the ditch and hits the side of the trailer!!!
I'm intrested what type of music is that I like it
Goa Trance. There are a lot of Goa compilations on the Tube. Use the TH-cam search box.
@@geezer652 okay I see

See video “truck stop shootout”
How often would you say a dealer claims there is driver damage?
Awesome videos! Question about the toolbox and transfer tank. Our tool box and tank sit slightly above the top edge of the bed like where the bed rail would be. Is that allowed?

Words are very hard. That was the theory was to have a reference point for the repetitive questions
So after delivery you guys dead head back to the yard? Or how does that work that’s long way burning fuel empty
That question is addressed here.
th-cam.com/video/uHBRiGkUwJc/w-d-xo.html
But to answer your question……it varies
Have you guys ever delivered to Canada ?
Any idea what insurance would cost for hauling rv's? Another wards if I pay $100 a month now for truck ins how much will it increase for Rv hauling?
Good video. Is Horizon willing to work with the drivers and keep them in certain areas if they want. I'm interested in staying on the east coast and as far west as Texas.
There’s no forced dispatch
To work for Horizon, do I need to get my DOT numbers or do we use theirs? What are the magnets that Chris mentioned putting on the side of his truck?
You use theirs. The magnet is the same thing as the sticker in my window
Great video!
