I prefer Metcon 5. The only change I'd make would be the lacing loops.. I'd put the Flywire eyelet cables on the 5, with a couple more pairs, and I'd put the loop on the heel of the 6 on the 5, and that's perfection!
For me these are the best Free Metcons Nike had released in a while. The first version was the best one and these feel really similar in performance and fit
you mentioned the heel height of the 9s but i think i missed if you said what it was for the 6s. is there a bigger heel to toe drop because of the cushion? also how does the toe box feel? does it allow for space or kind of squish your toes together?
I can't really measure heel to toe drop. I can measure heel height, but not the toe height, so I don't know what it is... but I can tell you this - it's not much. I'm so used to wearing metcons I can feel the difference between 4mm and 6 or 7mm (Like in the Reebok Nano).
Regarding the toe box. It's a tight fit, but that's partly because of the stretchy upper. So I think it's meant to be form fitting, but it's got enough give that it should be comfortable even if you need wider.
Hi! I just started crossfit again. I am a pretty small and light person but getting older😂 wich shoe do you recommend? Is the size the same in both metcon and fre? thanx
Sizing is about the same. I think the Nike Free is much more versatile. So if you can only get one, get that. If you are into heavy weight lifting, go with the Metcon 9
Regarding width they are both pretty close, but realize the Free Metcon 6 is a tight, "sock like" fit. It's meant to hug your foot. So - that'll probably feel better. The Metcon 9 won't "hug" your foot like that.
Hi I’m looking to get a shoe for dance fitness class , and I’m leaning towards Nike free metcon 5 and free metcon 6 . But I’m not sure which one is better in terms of durability as the other factors are very similar in both . Which one do you suggest to be the best buy overall being the same price .
Regarding durability - it's just too early to tell. I've only had the 6 for about a month. That said, I've owned EVERY version of this shoe and had not issues with durability. If you can find the 5 with a good discount - get that,.
I am looking for a shoe which can provide stability while weight training and is good for running. I understand that these are good for weight training. Are they any good for running? Please help.
You cant have both in 1 shoes. If you want good running shoes, buy running shoes. For lifting buy lifting shoes like metcon 5,6,9. But running, buy good running shoes
Walking - they work just fine. Comfortable to wear for long time periods - standing or walking. Honestly I don't jump rope any more - it's too much repetitive impact (I'm old). Having said that - these would probably be OK if you have healthy hips/knees.
I wouldn't say quality is less, but it's definitely lighter - I think because of the upper it's a ligheter weight material. Therefore the upper might be less durable (but more comfortable). Only time will tell, I think. To be honest the way I use these the upper doesn't get much wear and tear. I'll report back in a few weeks.

I need shose for boxing running weight lifting what is your advice for me
No shoe is going to do all of that. Getting running shoes for running. Nike Metcons for weigths. I don't know about boxing.

Hy there! Wich one is wider? I have small fit and i dont like large sneakers! Thx!

Go for MF6. Consider UA too for ur addt'l training shoes. 🎉
Nice but the Free Metcon 5 is better for me. The 4 is the most beautifull of the serie

How much running ? What distance? What kind of weights? Heavy barbell stuff?
@@fitatmidlife927 I run close to 7-10 kms a day. And yes, my weight training does involve heavy barbell exercises.

How are they for walking, and jump rope

Are these good for wide feet ?! Cause the last free rn shoes fabric tore near small toe
I DO NOT think the upper in these is tougher. I don't think you'll have better results.
@@fitatmidlife927 Thank you & which shoe would you suggest for daily use?! As i stand for longer periods and also walk when working
@@nikhilbm3804 Nike Free Metcon 6 - much better for standing and walking all day. The Nike Metcon 9 just doesn't have much cushion underneath
At the online store it says for women. Are these unisex?
There should be Men's sizes and Women's sizes. Mine are definitely Men's shoes
Look for a separate product listing that is Men's
Do you likek metcon 6 over metcon 9?
Metcon 9 for heavy weights, Metcon Free 6 for everything else
Way prefer Metcon free 5 for training . The 6 seems more made for casual walking and seems cheap
I'm gonna switch back to my 5s for a few days to see if I can feel a difference.
Ye, they're not. They dont feel cheap at all
@@HelloImCrimsoneveryone has a different opinion. All my friends at crossfits hate them.
