Look familiar? It should, unless you were too busy shaking Unit 20 off your tail to appreciate the scenery. So, allow me to refresh your memory.
In 1998, cop chases make a return to the series as the main attraction to Need for Speed 3 Hot Pursuit. With it came 9 tracks to choose from. Unlike in previous titles, the tracks here had an alternate version; the difference being time of day/season and an alternative route to take. The exception to this was the bonus track, Empire City.
These same tracks went on to also be included in the PC version of High Stakes, but only after you've unlocked them through a career event called "Memory Lane".
Also a first in NFS 3 was the option to choose night or day, as well as toggle the weather on or off for every track.
Being one of the most popular and successful classic NFS titles, Hot Pursuit eventually spawned 2 sequels; one from EA Seattle (PC/Xbox/Gamecube) and EA Black Box (PS2) in 2002, and the other from Criterion Games (PS3/Xbox360/PC) and Exient Entertainment (Wii) in 2010. Exotics and cop chases never get old.

or on gog, that would be best :) I would prefer 1 to 5 on gog to be honest, or even 1-11 (R&T NFS 1 to ProStreet)
These 5 parts are the best Road and Track NFS , NFS2SE, HotPursuit, High stakes and Porche Unleashed. I was 10-16 years old and it was perfect.
The thing i still love, is that how they used bright colors. There was loads of red, violet, green,blue used in textures/skyboxes/models. Little over cartoonish time to time maybe. That rocky road with northern lights is still beautiful.
Oh and Rom's songs.
I can still remember the names of all tracks. I can still remember my favorite places and those who were the hardest to pass. I watch this in 2016. Thanks for bringing back my memories!

I remember playing through every map very slowly, just to look at all the stuff on the side of the road. Probably the best NFS ever made.
Atlantica & Aquatica gives some gorgeous looking tracks for me nearby Mediterranean coast blend with "Aquila 303" to gives some chill but still demanding feeling for race across the track
Meanwhile,Empire City which is the most kickass track gives some strength feeling for greedy enviromental blend with "Flimsy" by Saki Kaskas that fit the dramatic chaos feeling on the track

Thank you very much for the memories from this game. I was 7 years old when my parents surprised me with it. This was my very first racing game and it is still, to this day, among my absolute favorites! Really, thank you!

I played this with a Microsoft steering wheel and the force feedback was phenomenal. It was giving you the perfect feeling when driving over the wooden bridge of Hometown. Nostalgia down my spine.
Nice! Back in the day I used an MS Sidewinder wheel for this and High Stakes. Was so much fun as a kid, like experiencing those arcade racing games but at home.

Such fond memories of these tracks, I love how in the Canyon tracks you drive through the gas station and even set off the service bell.
I do wish the bonus tracks that were in the PSX version of the game were also included in the PC port.

This is awesome. You should do it for the PS1 version, too. The skies are actually pretty different. I think the PS1 skies look more like watercolor paintings and they seem to be more saturated and colorful. I love both versions, though!
I actually had thoughts of doing the PS1 versions for NFS2, NFS3, NFS4, and NFS PU. The PS1 versions had different sky textures that gave the tracks a different atmosphere. With PU the tracks were completely different from PC, essentially it was a different game.

Still have High Stakes, running reasonably well on windows 10. Have it modded to hell and back with tracks included from NFS2. Cop AI in High Stakes was WAAAY better. Pure racing, late 90s techno, and it doesn’t cost me 60 bucks + DLC/micro transactions.
NFS3 was the big juicy steak, and High Stakes was the homemade sauce to go on it.

It was originally my plan to do one for HP2 but unfortunately I lost interest. I do have thoughts of coming back, so maybe.

@@Victor_2000s I don't have Motor City. Underground could be a good idea to do. Thinking of newish NFS like Hot Pursuit 2010 and Most Wanted 2012. Also other series like Test Drive Unlimited or Gran Turismo. These are just my thoughts no guarantees.

@@Mx64MaxyImpress I had plans to make one for both the PS2 and PC version of HP2, possibly combine them in one video. I still have my PS2 copy and a PS2, just need a capture device. It's been years since I made this kind of video but I still have the urge to complete the classic NFS games. So all I'm saying is... maybe, when I can set aside some time to come back.
