NFS III had a special feeling.. theres no other NFS after this one that can give you that emotion..it might be because the music was perfectly represented between cars, speed, dificulties and focus.

It's really sad how the composer of this dope track died 5 years ago :'( A legend nevertheless, the soundtracks he composed in '98 sound way ahead of their time.
May Saki live on forevermore...

His friend confirmed that he died in 2020. If that's not considered a source for you, go bug his friend to make a video about it.

Man... Those PS1 AI cops are really tough. And unfairly insane and overpowered.
And the main problem there in reduced speed limit for everyone, not like in PC version where you still can be "undetected" if you keeping the speed limit (even if you're driving erratically), while on PS1 speed limit in every section is reduced by 20 MPH and ANY violation will spawn a chasing cop after you, even if you're parked your car at the side of the road. Why?

@@RandomUsername81 In NFS 4 they also were (and will be chasing me if I will play PS1 version again any time later) chasing me even if I accidentally bumped traffic car or even knocked down any of road signs.
Add to these struggles reduced speed limit by 30 KM/H or 20 M/H at any road (according to signs which shows the allowed driving speed) and only one not very comfortable option to control your acceleration value by left stick on PS1 analog/DualShock joystick (Option B: The only control option where you can brake and accelerate by left stick, and also left stick used for steering in analog type of joystick which is not very comfortable to play actually), and you'll experience something really hard for yourself. Same goes for NFS 3 PS1 version.
That's why pursuits in PC version are slightly better and also easier at some sort. Still somehow the amount of traffic there is very reduced (2 randomly spawning cars for whole map/track). But there are a lot of cops you can switch between each other to overtake and capture AI illegal racer (even if their cars are not that agile and fast and not tunable).

How could Saki make this heavy and fast-paced techno sound like... rocks, wind and cold? That's the feeling I get from this amazing music. It suits Rocky Pass so perfectly!
This game wouldn't have been as memorable if it wasn't for the AMAZING soundtrack.
NFS III's graphics may be much weaker than todays racing games but the music still rock the socks off up to date games.

@@TheOnlyKreator1 I think same goes to MW 2005, because as I see most of so-called "NFS fans" can't see anything beyond this game because it's very perfect for them and they don't accept any other NFS, not any of elder NFS, and not any of newer NFS games...
Such a soundtrack - fast, 90s, electronic and electric guitars thrown in the mix too! This stuff out-does the dance music of the era it came from and I say that as someone who loves 90s Hardcore, Trance, Techno and House. Other tunes I like I can listen to so many times and find myself skipping them but when this soundtrack comes on there's so much spice and variety I never feel the need to skip it!
This was _the_ track, if you wanted to win here you had truly demonstrate all your skill in the game, sharp corner after sharp corner but no time to slow down, one bad move will have you flying into a ditch or crashing into a tree

And nfs most wanted especially with Celldweller and I'm rock. That's one of the tremendous reasons why, at my eyes, this is the best NFS ever made.

And the cause of his death was... drug overdose. In fact, a good chunk of his life was plagued by drugs. It was his mechanism to make him feel normal in the real world, and eventually it was the cause of his demise.

Nothing could top the CLK. Diablo was to heavy, El Niño struggled to turn, XJR didn't hold its momentum, but handled well. CLk was fast, handled great, and would beat anything in and out of corners.
@@itzybp1985 El Niňo was fast on a straightaway. XJR was fast in corners, CLK was fast everywhere. Scighera was a crappier XJR, Maranello was a crappy El Niňo, and Diablo was a crappier CLK.
my favourite part is from 4:38, this was played in lap2 if you were first and lap3 if you were second playing a duel on Summit, from the tunnel until the tophill ski house.
NFS-3 oh how I miss playing this game. This was one of my favorite childhood games. And the best of the NFS genre. Great cars to choose from and nice tracks. They need to go back to their roots and start producing games like this again.

Its good how knossos and snow bags, though on the same pair of tracks, are so different...
Knossos is soo very intense and rough and Snow Bags have a much happy tune...
I like knossos in knockout or tournament but snow bags in simple race modes :-D
ya thats right. But for me, I cant handle very serious things, and whenever knossos plays on The Summit, i get an adrenaline rush and end up crashing at the downward cliffs of the snows.
LOL that happens to me a lot. The Summit in Hot Pursuit mode is such a pain to beat.

@@blakedmc1989TranceHD kinda. You can perform a braking drift which can turn your car almost on a spot. But I´d just barely consider that to be drift, especially since you don´t just slide, you just turn on spot. In High Stakes you could slide for a tiny bit, so it was almost a braking drift. Porsche was IIRC the first title where you could perform a drift, but it required a great skill in that game.

Grew up playing NFS 2 and 3. they were my first computer games and I wish I had an older os so I could still play them! Maybe I would actually race instead of driving the wrong way for fun ;D
I still race to this on Grid. Flying sideways through the mountains in a Zonda Revolucion.
I race to this either with Nissan 180SX in Assetto Corsa, or with my MR-2 Spyder on a real life mountain roads around my home town. I´ve first heard that track when I was about 4y/o, and after more than 20 years it still rocks.
Am I the only one who thinks that since NFS3 all following games only have SHIT charts/hiphop music in comparison to this cool tracks? :-(
Yeah I don't know why you left out High Stakes and Porsche Unleashed , soundtracks to those were very awesome too (Both PS1 and PC). Hot Pursuit 2 was actually pretty decent and it was fun. Everything after that started to change a lot. Then HP (2010) came along which was pretty good as well.

ImpactSpace The first 4 minutes of this music falls under a genre called Goa Trance, in case you're wondering. Just browse TH-cam and you'll hear A LOT of similar music in this fashion :-) Also, check my channel for a bit darker and more aggro sound in this style.
ImpactSpace High Stakes OST was pretty good too. Although Junkie XL hadn't hit his prime yet. (I also liked the instrumentals he did for ProStreet that weren't related to that shit track "More")
But the tracks from High Stakes from Rom di Prisco (NFS3 techno tracks) are pretty similar to this stuff, and I loved it.
He more recently worked on the OST for Unreal Tournament 3, and the sound design was still interesting, but it wasn't as good.
ImpactSpace Most wanted (2005 version) remain exception.
Saki Kaskas is one of them, as listed in the video, another great artist that did much of the music in the franchise is Romulo, or "Rom" Di Prisco, he still does music to this day, unfortunately not in any recent nfs games

In NFS 3? I´ve never seen Nazca in NFS 3. But what it surely remembers is Italdesign Scighera.

You need to get the nfs 3 patch for windows vista / 7 in order for it to work. It works well on my window 7 32 bit system. Also right click on nfs 3 and check compatability. U have to test it out trust me it does work
It works well on my laptop which has a nvidia 9600m gt gpu in it

***** The Win8.1 update didn't ruined the playability, but NOW the NFS High Stakes, Porsche Unleashed and including V-Rally 1/2 works quietly perfectly.

I remember racing this track for the first time hearing this track... in 4 laps I destroyed the lap record 3 times in a row and ended up with the best time for this track.... such an epic feeling!

It is the hardest track in the game, but sooner or later this is the most fun track, but don't ever think to race in night time, especially in The Summit

NFS 3 and 4 were the early era of awesome electronic techno trance music. NFS Porsche was the golden era, filled with absolutely gorgeous tracks, which although rarely as fast as the old ones from 3 and 4, still usually hold their own in comparison. NFS HP2 was the late era, half-infused with licensed rock music, it was still fun to listen to and my old MP3 player (which I still tend to use when it´s too bothersome to carry phone around, like when Im tuning my car for example) still contains soundtrack even from the 6th NFS title.
After that it was continuously less and less interesting.
Most Wanted was about the last title with soundtrack worthy enough to not be turned to minimum volume after 5 minutes of playing.
This was my staple racing track!

It really gets sinister and dangerous at 2:22 and 3:38 . It's like your getting chased down by cops and suv cops, the helicopter is crashing, rocks are falling everywhere, and your going 213 mph in a car the got beaten up.

The music was one of the mayor reasons I put this game on top of my gaming list. It created an adrenaline-filled atmosphere that not even NFS HS could not achieve.

I love how the song can't decide if it wants to go hard in moderation or just full balls to the wall, so it lures you in with one before switching to the other

I legit loved this game when I was younger. One thing about it though, MY GOD was the A.I in that game Hard. I never did get the other cars in the entirety that I had this, only because the copy I had was old, and my game always froze.
I think what I loved the MOST about this though, was the pursuit setting, that let you actually change the way the difficulty for the pursuit would be, so you could actually try to avoid roadblocks, race against harder enforcers, and dodge spike traps. I only ever saw The Lamborghini Enforcer, like once, all the other times it was the Corvette
