Long gone are the days of battles, glory and honour. The world of present is but a facade of deceit and treachery. But you, Clamavi De Profundis are bards of this age. Continue to sing these sagas of glory...you have my gratitude.
What I found poetic was that the great hero was a blacksmith. Because the flaming demon would seem unassailable to the usual glorious warrior-hero, as their armor would offer no protection. But a blacksmith is used to working by the searing-hot fire of the forge, and is not afraid of it. Soot-stained blacksmith's hands were what was needed to destroy the flaming manifestation of greed. Amazing piece.
There's a second layer, too. You said it yourself, though I don't think you realized it. The blacksmith's hands were soot-stained; Boic knew hard work, and knew it well. Blacksmithing is long, difficult, and sweaty work. They needed someone who knew hard work, sweat, exhaustion, and soot-stained hands to destroy the flaming manifestation of greed.
I am amazed by the fact that you came up with a song where a gemstone is used to defeat a demon and made the moral of it "wealth is meant to serve a need". It's genius.
Human: Hmm that last one sounds quite impressive though there is no way that any who lived would have ever thought of such a thing the dwarf who did must have been a rather crafty one
Boic Bravesoul : " *Our wealth is found inside the soul* " The song of Hammerdeep : " *For wealth is found inside the heart* " The dwarf of Hammerdeep learned well. Boic should be proud of his people
what no!? this is why the dwarves of hammer deep and the bravesoul clan are still at war with each other over the grudge of where true wealth comes from, the soul or the heart.
Gandalf: "This foe is beyond any of you. Run!" *Boic Bravesoul pops out, hammer in one hand and diamond in the other* Boic: "I've got this covered, all of you run!"
"Where wealth is meant to serve a need" I agree, that's how it should be. Diamond works well on a stonecutter's blade, and gold makes exceptional electrical wire, as well as atomic radiation shielding. Silver reflects light with nie unmatched proficiency, and should be used to light even the deepest mines, from the top of a mountain tower that reaches past the clouds, so that the sun it reflects is all day long, uninterrupted. Iron Ore has many more uses than ruby gems, and as such, should be valued more. But the most Valuable treasure is within the heart of any honorable Dwarf, or man or elf or orc or goblin, for that matter; any race can forge valuable treasure within their soul, if they are to truly want to.
Ironically most metals that were considered 'valuable' in the past didn't have much practical value until technology developed enough to make use of them in any significant fashion. A good example of this is the history of platinum because it was initially considered to be an impurity of gold by the Spanish (it's name came from the Spanish term for little silver). It was often simply thrown away and there was a heavily enforced law against mixing platinum with gold. Not until much later did people realize that its unique chemical properties made it one of the most valuable metals on the planet for all sorts of applications that wouldn't have existed at the time.
@@ladvargleinad7566 it is not a matter of will. Tolkien took his time on philosophy of his books and was thinking about creating an isolated village of orcs that are not corrupted to the deeps of their souls yet he rejected that idea. Why? Because it absolutely opposes the concept of evil in other books. Orc are by their nature evil creatures not capable of goodness and at best they can stay wild. Incorporating liberal ideology "everyone is good, everyone is equal" into Tolkien books is disgusting and is a sign of no respect, ignoration or appreciation for his work put into analysis of the world.

.> I may or may not have made Hammerdeep a Dwarven city in my DnD Campaign setting, and used the songs as the basis for its history. The youngest Daughter of Boic is currently Queen and her people now reside within the nearby human city of Northgate as refugees, as a dragon like none seen in thousands of years has taken the city as its new home. And for any curious, his youngest daughter is queen because his eldest son died in battle with his elderly father, repelling an Orcish/Goliath raid on dwarven villages in the nearby valleys, and when the crown fell to his middle son he abdicated the throne claiming he was unworthy, and left the city leaving his barely 70 year old sister to have to take the crown as the last Heir. Though she shares the same beliefs as her father on the matter of wealth, so who knows, maybe it was for the best that she was the one to inherit.
I appreciate what you did with the theme of greed throughout. First, the dwarves accidentally summon the demon because of their greed. Then the demon leads to its demise because of its greed "He bound the dwarves with heated chain save one to fetch him gems remained." And then the demon's death is actually caused by a diamond being hammered into its skull.
I like the morale of this song : the demon appears because of the avarice and the greed of the dwarfs digging too deep, and Boic beat him by using a diamond : wealth served a purpose.
So the songs go like this: “Boic Bravesoul” “The Song Of Hammerdeep” “Hammer Fall” then last but not least “Dragonshore” At lest that is how it looks like it would go together to me. Probably just me though...

I find it very interesting that this song though original touched on the subjects: sin and salvation from it. I really like the subtle connections with Christiananity in this particular song. Over all... GREAT JOB GUYS!!!!
Greed has always been the biggest flaw of LOTR dwarves. After all, that is the whole reason why both Smaug and the Balrog killed the dwarves that were in those areas.
I’m imagining this as the song that revived the history of both Boic Bravesouls himself, but also details an order of Dwarvish monks dedicated to the ideals of Boic, that of inner wealth through outer action

@Tyrel Hansen don't have that on mobile.
Once again CDP has created a masterpiece. Boic Bravesoul is reminiscent of both Tolkien and Beowulf in a wonderful way!
well, tolkien was inspired by Beowulf so... not too surprising
erik carp Of course. But, the way Boic kills the demon is especially reminiscent of how Beowulf kills Grendel.
@@alexanderfyock9042 cool
Imagine if the demon had actually accepted Boic's humble work, impressed by the sheer fact the dwarf dared to offer them.
I don't think Boic was actually going to let the demon off that easy, he just needed to get close.
They never disappoint with lyrics and whole music...
this song is amazing! love the fact you all manage to convey a moral point like that in a dwarven song
WOW! I really enjoyed the different voices for the characters, quite different from your other songs. Most original music channel on youtube, keep up the excellent work.
I love having these songs about dwarven lore, song really flesh out stories, cultures, and worlds.
Virgin Demon - "Noooo I was supposed to be your doom"
Boic Bravesoul the Chad - "Haha Diamond sharp"
Anyone else getting a St Lawrence vibe from Boic? Offering his few good works as treasure in the same way that Lawrence offered the poor as 'the church's most precious things'?
This is truly a beautiful allegory.
I hope that this will reach the creators because it has been a while since this has been uploaded, but... These lyrics, the whole composition with the illustrations, the overall theme the story this song tells. Just the whole thing. This is outstanding talent and skill to a level that we don't see every day. This one, Dragonshore, When the Hammer Falls... I don't know how popular you people are, or how much you make out of this, but you deserve more. It's humbling to anyone to anyone that works with anything creative.
It is fair indeed to see that my dwarven neighbours are doing well. That feat with the diamond was both valiant and genious.
I absolutely love the demon's voice in this, it sounds like something out of a cursed theme park ride
I cannot get enough of the opening lines of this song. It is so fun to listen to.
Love the song. More inspiration for the lonely mountain I'm building in Minecraft. I need to listen to this over and over until I memorize it
Tolkien would be proud, congratulations!
Can we please have a DnD Setting Manual for this world? Pretty please?
G.U.R.P.S. take it or leave it.
Unlikely as clamavi de profundus is pretty christian.

I find it very interesting that this song though original touched on the subjects: sin and salvation from it. I really like the subtle connections with Christiananity in this particular song. Over all... GREAT JOB GUYS!!!!
"subtle"
Greed has always been the biggest flaw of LOTR dwarves. After all, that is the whole reason why both Smaug and the Balrog killed the dwarves that were in those areas.
I am definitely listening to this on repeat!
"you shall leave, you have no choice"
Lol, reminds me of when i got that eviction notice. Hahaha....
*Help*
Hold on brother
I’m imagining this as the song that revived the history of both Boic Bravesouls himself, but also details an order of Dwarvish monks dedicated to the ideals of Boic, that of inner wealth through outer action
Man, everytime you remind why I RP dwarves in my games and you inspire quests for my players.
Live long and happy, friend :)
A great man once said “rock and stone!”
WE’ER RITCHE!
KARL WOULD BE PROUD!
Did I hear a rock and stone?!
WE'RE RICH!
I need an ale to accompany the beard I just grew
I don't care what anyone else says. This is epic, and this is LOTR canon.
Who are the "anyone else" you refer to?
@@niclasthomsen7127 No one in particular. I'm just saying that this is (or should be) canon, no matter how many people disagree with me.
Well, to avoid missunderstandings, lets say it ain't canon - but it should be :)
@@Maryondo Sure. I'll settle for that.
It's not supposed to be in the LOTR universe
Amazing work. God bless your family ❤
Demon manifests respect and authority. I love sound effects you used on him are epicness, because he sounds partly human.
*An epic song indeed*
Me and my friends love your songs so much !!!
I can't help but think "I brought these hands" when he sings about his few good works
You really captured the essence of what dwarvens lores and songs appeared to sound in my mind.Thank you for all thoses nice song helping me on my campaing creation
Love this song. Helps me through alot of pain
This is a great song, also I thought the bolrogs voice was fine, keep up the good work :D
No wonder there are six dislikes, six is the number of evil. Only evil would dislike this song.
The Evil has doubled to 12 my brother, grab your warhammer we got some grudges to resolve.
They serve the dark lord Morgoth. Let us storm the dark lands they cower in.
Now it's thirteen - the unlucky number
Nero McKnight My only question is where can I get a gem of light, they seem necessary to kill monsters like this.
So long as there is light, there will always be shadow oppose it. But fear not fellow warriors, so long as one remains, the light shall never truly fade.
This is just so cool. Like every line and note just get better after each listening!
It's like one of story from Dwarf Fortress. With Forgotten Beasts and legendary hammerer
"The eldest born of fire released"
Its looks like: "Forgotten beast has come!"
@@ВладимирНовиков-и5е forgotten beast "Gready Demon" has come. It's eldest born of fire, he is a humanoid form demon. His skin are red, his eyes gleam red. Beware his burn skin and flame breath.
You blood well right! And you know what would be better? A good animation of this song would be awesome!
@@williamking1081 in dwarf fortress' style.
God, ive listened to this at least 20 times in the last 3 days, its just so great, truly one of the best songs you guys have composed.
O my God, Clamavi!! Your songs are the best, but this? This is the better!!!
This was another brilliant piece
now time to do what i always do when a new one is released, listen to it on loop for hours until i want to listen to something else
You still listening then?
Just wanted to let you know that I listen to this song on repeat daily, such a good song! "I am Death and I am Gloom, I am everlasting Doom"
I love demon's voice. Are Boic's "few good works" his fight equipment?
The "few good works" are probably his tools and clothes, made by him and other dwarves.
His blacksmith's apron and gloves, his hammer.
I just wish we could hear the demon's scream when the diamond pierced through his skull, sending it back to the void...
Though, I have a placebo that work pretty well, if you catch the reference... The Live-action movie of "Pinocchio" (1996). To put the context : In a theatre, the puppet boy fought a giant, acted by Stromboli, director of said theatre ; doing the voice of the creature in off. When Pinocchio planted a sword in the giant's foot, killing it, Stromboli unleashed a scream so mighty and terrific as the beast fell down... It's the perfect fit for the moment our Brave Boic _"drove the gem into his skull"_ . . . . Here's a link with the time code, if you ever want to try it for yourself : [ th-cam.com/video/sfNEi6GYhL8/w-d-xo.html ] Short, but d*mn is it powerfull.
So epic, my dwarven heart can only take so much! May all cherish your songs so that you continue to make more!
Once again, you've blown me away.
I like it. I like it very, very much. There are little gems of great wisdom sprinkled throughout the lyrics to this beautiful song, some that I hope Thorin Oakenshield held within his heart as well, though Tolkien never put them into words for him. Tolkien, too sprinkled gems within his stories. Clamavi de Profundis has learned this well from the master and perfected it within the words of this song.
I always look out for these dwarven songs, excellent work!
I am so very glad I stumbled on this channel.
I love the way they all sing "soul" at the end!
Wonderfull i love those song! It's soo epic and calm in the same time. I have no word for describe it. Bravo!😘
Wow it still blows me away how every dwarven song sounds so amazing.
A better result than what normally happens when the dwarves find the circus.
I love all your songs but I really enjoyed this particular one because of the almost call and response style you used. I also really enjoyed how the chord progressions you utilized were so unexpected!
Great poem Great song, great idea for Dwarves! Enjoyed every minute of it, thanks
I love you guys! You manage to take Middle-Earth, marinate it in Catholicism, and package it for us who want a different world.
May your tribe be great and blessed!!
Middle Earth was pretty thoroughly steeped in Catholicism to begin with. The Ainundalie is basically just a new translation of Genesis
@@TheAchilles26 True. I once saw someone went as far as translating þe 1st 2 chapters of Genesis into Quenya!
@@Loreman72, I'm surprised they went with Quenya instead of Sindarin, since as I understand it, Sindarin is more fully fleshed out and useable
3:18 I love this quick kind of singing, quicker than the likes of the Song of Durin for example, though not to say that Song of Durin's style of singing was bad, still amazing
Marvelous... Truly a tale of glory, one that shall last millennia!
May god bless you all your days.
You should really have a song or two based off of Markus Heitz's _The Dwarves_ Saga! We need a song about Tungdil Goldhand!

Dude yes, what a fun videogame!
Hey, fellow fan hi five!
Absolutely! Tungdil is an amazing dwarf, and I think that your songs would do him justice.
