Replaced the slave cylinder in my sons 01, which the previous owner said he changed everything 10k miles back. Fluid was as black as a tire.... Figuring I was about to replace a clutch came across your video. replaced the master cylinder, boys car is back on the road and he said the pedal had never felt that tight. Thanks for the video and saving me a couple of grand..
This video was awesome! Solved my problem of not going in to gear. Just during the end had to leave the slave master cylinder line disconnected and pump the clutch til fluid started spitting out, then connected it to the slave cylinder and bled it normally. Thanks for the vid.
Good video, thanks. Having bad clutch feel and on a standing start my car creeped forward, so the clutch clearly wasn't disengaging fully. Gonna try this later and see if it fixes my issues.
So I have a 1993 mazada Miata. Clutch feels pretty light(I can easily press the clutch all the way down). Clutch works to turn on the card. But I absolutely can not put the car in any gear. You recommend doing this first then seeing if this maybe the issue?
My lovely '04 MazdaSpeed rode home on a flatbed tonight, dang it - 1st time in 20 years though, so we aite. I was driving home and the clutch pedal suddenly didn't push back as normal. Kinda flaccid. I coasted to a stop in neutral. Car wouldn't go in to 1st, or any gear. Clutch fully pressed, but it was like the gears were blocked off....? I turned the engine off, then ah...if I pressed the clutch in, it would go into 1st gear. Clutch still pressed... started the engine and it lurched forward and stalled. Hoping that the fix in this fine video is what I'll need... Any thoughts/comments n'at are appreciated!🤞
I have a 99 Miata I have replaced the master and the slave 4 times me and my brother have been working on cars for 10+ years each and my clutch works for a few days then randomly gives out, full engage. then works just fine for a week or two then stops working any ideas ?

Excellent! I happy it helped 😎
Thanks for the help on this. The slave lower bolt was painful with a short wrench but got it.

Good work Joe 👍
Thanks for the tip on getting the fluid to start flowing. I have had a few over the years that have been hard to bleed. 👌
I had the master cylinder slowly leaking into the cabin, it was almost impossible to get 1st gear. Replaced both cylinders and it is now all good.
Was it just 1st gear? my mx5 has trouble getting into 1st while moving, but shifts fine while stationary.

Any luck on your diagnosis?

Great video as well!
Yes 👍
Definitely replace the clutch slave and clutch master cylinder first.

I hope everything worked out ok with your clutch issues.

Thank you so much!
My 01’ sometimes doesn’t wanna go into gear and the pedal is really loose. Should I try this out or you think it’s the entire clutch
We have the same problem, did you get it fixed?
Motive power bleeder! Saves time bleeding.
I did this yesterday
I replaced my slave but my car still won’t go into gear, my master looks fine tho
Might want to replace the clutch all together.
What if I change both master and slave and clutch but I still have my problem
@@edog2232 ever get it running i am having the same issue
@@natthebrat2616 adjustment screw behind the clutch pedal 12mm nut and a 10mm rod fixed my issue
@@edog2232 do you know how far you adjusted it? And how much free play you had w the clutch
