What I find is that every problem solved uses the same mindset. You almost have to welcome the challenge .. I've seen ppl swear and throw things but to no avail. Having the right mindset will solve almost al problems of life including BMW owners that sell their cars "without" the removal; locking nut.

Omg I thought I was the only one. This is exactly what happened to my son's BMW X5 and we're still trying to remove the lock after the key/head came off. The stupid key broke off inside. Has a at tired and hasn't driven in 2 months because we can't get the wheels locks off😢😂
I'm in the U.S. so I'm trying to find that tool you used.

Easy remedy. I drilled a small pilot hole next to stuck piece of sheared off lock nut then used a pick to remove it. About 5 minutes work.

Wrap tape around the tool until it is a good fit in the wheel

I have this tool but with some mini’s and 1-series from 2015 there is no space behind the nut as they seem to be a lot closer - I have had great success with the tool prior to that - the only was I have been able to use it is destroying the ring then using the puller - where as on the earlier one’s it does what you said goes behind the ring and pulls both off together. 🫨🫨😓🤔🤔😉
