How exciting! I am a long term fan of your channel, 33yo old from Germany, I moved to the Provincia Pistoia (up in the hills in wonderful nature) between Lucca and Pistoia in September last year. I rented a country house with a garden, planted vegetables and got 3 chicken as friends for my sausage dog. Working full remote. It has been a life changing experience so far and I haven't had any regrets making the move. Of course there are difficulties (bureaucracy, sometimes the language barrier) but that is nothing considering what you get...Weather/climate, culture, cuisine, friendly/warm people all over the place and incredible beauty of nature...Just GO for it, Nicolas!
the beaurocracy is among the worst in the world after France. I don’t miss that part at all! but the eggs and dairy, breads, seafood is the best. The pastries.. markets. I miss all the food. Even original Nutella is better there. Country living, or seaside is truly exceptional. The land grows everything nearly. Good for you! it sounds lovely.

I always thought French was the most beautiful language, but it's CLEARLY Italian... the most beautiful of all languages.... that's why opera is (mostly) sung in Italian.

I am an American from New York and I am Italian American with family there. I speak Italian fluently and have studied Italian for many years (my mother too is from Italy and she was an Italian teacher) as I go there frequently. I use Pimsleur for language learning as it is considered the best as I am learning Spanish since NYC has many people from Latin America. I wouldn't mind checking out Babbel as it is a derivative of the Berlitz language learning masters (they are considered the top as well). Nicolas if you can move, you should, and if you love change this makes you really strong and will make your life easier as you get older (I am much older than you). Most people don't like change, in fact, they dread it, you are an adventure seeker, very brave and, this is great. I love your garden changes. All the best to you Nicolas. Thanks, Catherine

Good afternoon Nicholas. I always wanted to learn Spanish, French, an Italian myself. On my mother's side of the family. My grandparents are Cherokee and Mohawk Indian we also have a Latino and white and, Sakura member the day before that married my husband now at the time I had fiance did not believe me until he met my entire family. Tell her I'm very proud of who I am why would I tell it tell about. Not auntie Jeannie was getting on me about not speaking too much Spanish but like I sprained her mama never explained it. But mother never spoke the language yourself. I had a Uncle Samuel we call him Uncle Sammy he was a supervisor in the hospital for years. He had plenty of time friends and they love us like we were their own family. That's how I got interested in learning to speak Italian. Yeah they were grateful pinching your cheeks and teaching you how to make they're pasta from fresh I truly enjoyed it. So I am definitely going to look up that app thank you so much. And where you having at picking it is so beautiful I am a fool over Flowers have gotten that from my mother. My mother name is Alice. We love flowers so much but our favorite is roses I could sit there and a beautiful park where you at enjoy your picnic 🧺 all day long and just enjoy the beauty of those flowers. I still try to think of a name for that gorgeous dessert you made. I'm so very happy and excited for your friend Vanessa. Your life is always so elegant and beautiful. It’s very relaxing to watch you make an ordinary setting just a little bit extraordinary. The summer dessert you make looks scrumptious. Since you make it with Chantilly cream. Why not call it, “Chantilly Scrumptious Crumble” or something like that. Just an idea! Best wishes in your move to Italy. The door looks great with the green colour. Good thing though that you like to repaint frequently because using indoor paint for an exterior door may not hold up well. I think moving to Italy would be such fun and if it is something you can do, I say go for it. The park is a lovely place for a picnic. We might have been able to have a picnic earlier this week here in Toronto but now Mother Nature has gone off her meds again and the temps have dropped significantly, which is annoying since the sun is shining.
She’s feeling the same here in Wisconsin 🥶. We had one warm week in April and that’s about it. It’s freezing here in the mornings and evenings to where we have to put the heat on.
I had a little chuckle “Mother Nature had gone off her Meds. I Love it! 😂

Love the dessert! I switched up Eton mess by substituting strawberries with sliced banana and then finished with a drizzle of caramel sauce. It was decadent! I've also added a little Stoli Vanilla vodka to the whipped cream for both the banana and strawberry versions and it was so good. You do have to be careful with the amount of Stoli, as it can limit the cream whipping up...but it was an inspired addition!

Sir Nicholas I would highly recommend the Italy move. I lived there for a few months and spent the summer riding across the Italian riviera on some Italian stallions like a bucking bronco. I think you know what I mean lol. You’re only young once!

I too began learning Italian with Babbel - for the next trip to Italy I want to be able to speak in full sentences and have real conversations instead of the mix German, English, Italian and gestures.

chantilly cream, to Americans is just whipped cream; heavy cream with a little sugar and vanilla. Any cookie would do, but the oats are a nice touch. Not the best dessert for toting to a picnic but simple to put together en situ. Thanks, Nicolas.
Nicolas I'm so curious how the front door looks finished. At the moment I have the impression that the color doesn't harmonize with the wall color on the inside or do you leave the door white on the inside? Your lifestyle in daily life is to be admired but also worthy of emulation. I would love to sit under the tree at the picnic. I think the idea of possibly moving to Italy is great. When not now you can do it. I wish you an interesting and beautiful planning for this.

❤ Loved watching your video. Good for you for painting your door again! Here in Alberta, Canada we're really dry and we're experiencing Wild Fires. The wind has recently shifted and the smoke has gotten worse. My wife wants to get out after work this evening and plant the rest of the garden; hopefully our young dog doesn't dig everything up. Wherever you end up moving, be sure to take us with you.
