Hi Nicholas. I was a professional floral designer for 20 years. I appreciate your love of flowers. The flower you could not remember is called stock. May I suggest that you remove the heavy lower leaves of your stems as that will lengthen the life of your bouquets.
Hi Nicholas I started flower arranging in 1974 and used a 'pin holder' , proper name Kenshin. I still have that pin holder today and use it often especially for ikibana (Japanese art of flower arrangement). You will get years of service from yours. Stocks are my favourite flower.
Stocks have the most beautiful fragrances.

Those are such beautiful flowers and they look very pretty in the nice jug. I have some antique flower frogs similar to your new one, and some antique glass ones which even make very pretty display items on their own.

Hi, Nicolas I think your home is beautiful and furnishings are all wonderful. The furniture placement in your living room just seems a bit out of sorts to me. Not saying this to be unkind, just some constructive criticism. Obviously it’s your home and if you like it and makes you happy then that’s what matters. Maybe placing the sofa on the wall with the prints and getting a more substantial coffee table to center the room a bit more. Also, think a nice ornate mirror would look lovely above the fireplace. The desk in my humble opinion would be better suited near the window overlooking your garden area. Anyway just food for thought! Cheers

Nicolas, my love. Make sure you are removing any leaves below the water line. Your arrangements will last much longer. And change the water every day. The long flower you called a poppy was actually a ranunculus. Happy Spring 🥕🌷☀️💕

I'll help you my friend. The flowers are Poppy, Anemone, Lisianthus, Larkspur or Snapdragon (They're similar in look), and Eucalyptus Silver Dollar. Beautiful arrangement!

Upstate New York here ! Still winter here as well. Snow and ice - no sign of spring at all
Same here in Wisconsin. Snow storm yesterday and more snow today. We won’t see anything flowering for quite some time yet. We usually have a mid-to-late April snow or ice storm most years as well and have even had snow in May ☃️

The white flower that you called a poppy, I think is an anemone and the white cluster type flowers look like stocks and the greenery is eucalyptus. Love the video as always.

Hello Nicolas, I loved your new vase & your beautiful floral arrangement - what a great idea the flower frog is. I have been busy Spring cleaning & I have done a lot of decluttering. I am moving into a new flat in a couple of weeks & I thought that this was a great opportunity to be ruthless & dispose of things I no longer want. Some went to the recycling, some were thrown out & the majority went to Charity Shops. Thank you once again for sharing your tips. Take care. 💚✌️

I have a collection of around 200 antique flower frogs.
Some of them I display in clear glass vases.

And I believe that the flower is a stock.
I'm also doing my spring cleaning it sounds sad but I enjoy it when the house shines like a new pin, everything in it's place and fresh flowers completes the picture. BTW the flowers you weren't sure of are stocks they have a wonderful fragrance but aren't the longest lasting but when you're so beautiful... Have a great week Nicolas!

My only problem with Nigella is that she loves food as much as I do. She makes eating a very sensual experience. Everytime I watch her, I want whatever she is eating!!!!! Even if its something out of my normal palette. She make me want to experiment with food. which is a real gift. Also, your new pitcher and flower arrangment are gorgeous!!!! Great composition!

Florist here 😁 Its important to put water in first. After you cut the stem it must go in water right away or will seal up and not take up water. The flowers you have are poppy, anemone , stock and lisianthus. 😊💐

Nicolas, what a lovely pitcher/vase and a beautiful arrangement you have made! I believe the flower in question is Brampton Stock but there are many other names by which it is known. The term "flower frog" has always been a favorite of mine. I too adore Nigella and had previously checked that recipe to make sometime but have yet to do it. It does look terribly delicious. Thank you for another pleasing and informative video.
I forgot my Grandmother used flower frogs and I was lucky enough to get one when we we’re breaking up her housekeeping after she passed away. I’m going to look for that and start using it!!

Another one bites the dust! By that I mean my way of dusting my apartment was wrong after watching your video. As regards the scent scene of you current video, it's fascinating how such a small and simple tool can make a significant difference in the presentation of our floral arrangements. Your video made me think of how often we overlook the importance of stability when it comes to displaying flowers.🌻🌼🌷🪻 We tend to focus on the aesthetic aspect and forget that proper support is necessary for the flowers to thrive and last longer.
