My god. Your sister has impeccable taste! The way she remodeled the house and decorated it is STUNNING and modern. I loved it. I can’t believe it’s the same house she bought a while ago.
The house certainly has changed since we first saw it! They have done a beautiful job and you can see how much thought has gone into making it a welcoming, warm place for guests as well as a comfortable, well functioning home for when just the three of them are there.
Has there been any more thought about your parents moving into one of the buildings nearby?

STUNNING reno. i especially love how the character of the Tudor space was preserved while getting a very modern, high end treatment. Here's a life hack alternative to bare feet in the house.... a basket of "nanny" slippers. My nan used to knit simple colourful slippers of various sizes that I kept in my entry hall for guests to use. They were cozy, fun, and kept oils off of my lovely ivory carpets! Thanks for the tour!
'Wash clothes slippers' can be made into slippers too for use. Various sizes and colors of course. Some washcloths are made a little larger. Ruffled a little at top or just have some sewn tightly at the top, as not all will want to have the ruffles. But I remember seeing this, and they would be nice for guests especially. Easy to keep washed nicely and cleaned so very well!

It a beautiful and interesting but it strikes me as feeling a bit austere. There are so many spots just calling for some tasteful art pieces to make the rooms more welcoming. On the upper floor I saw a picture above a comfortable dark chair but it was hung too high.

The pool and the connection to the house your parents will or already live in. So very beautiful! But a little friendly filmmaker tip for future house tours. Show us an overview of the room before you explain it so we know what you are talking about. I noticed that you did explain things we haven't seen in the study the green couch and the curtains or the special windows in the rooms. 😉

This was fabulous. Your sister has such great taste. I really like the chairs in all the rooms. The chairs in the dinning room are so different than I've ever seen, they are lovely. The house is beautiful and like you say, it gives a sense of warmth and welcoming right from the moment you see that huge black front door. I also love all the drapes, she did think of every little detail. It's hard to believe that this is the house you showed us before. Your sister's house is truly amazing. Everything is of the finest quality and great thought has gone into the design process and making the flow functional. However, I find it to be rather sterile and devoid of any personality. Hopefully with time, they will add some lush living plants and flowers, some paintings or other artwork, a bit more colour and a perhaps some printed fabric beyond just a few pillows. I am not trying to be critical or disrespectful, but right now, it is more of a spectacular house, rather than a loving home. Even the garden needs bushes and flowers.
I fully agree. Yes, the house is beautiful, but it is more of a showplace than a cozy home. With time may they add some personal touches so it looks more like a place where people live and not a hotel.
They have only lived in the house for 6 months. The details will come with time x

I second the comment by Sandra Goss to the word. It was extremely kind of your sister’s family to allow us to view the results (and future ideas for landscaping) of all their planning and hard work! I remember very well the first tour and knowing they would reach their goals at the conclusion of much effort. It IS a lovely, warm, welcoming home, I’m certain they must be proud. My daughter has built two homes in the last ten years. Her husband is in our military so they have moved when required to do so. When stationed in Alabama they built a home with a generous boot room and laundry area next to one another off the garage-very practical. When they moved to Kansas the builder they had to work with offered a very tiny space for a laundry room and almost nonexistent space for unloading accoutrements within a much larger house! We all have never determined the thought and planning process employed by this builder, frankly it’s mystifying. They had a limited choice in their situation but they did build a beautiful home and have no choice but to adapt to it’s limitations. In the military moves are inevitable. Thank you Nicholas for this lovely tour, and wish your niece a belated Happy Birthday from a Grandmother (my grandchildren refer to me in the French as Memere) in New England 😊!

The house is done up nicely. The bedrooms are ok. So is the kitchen. But, the monochrome interiors are giving a harsh feel. But, if the family is happy with it - it is all what matters. Good luck to the family in their lovely nest.
