Faceless Void is the hardest carry in the game because he has bash, damage prevention, and an "I don't care what you're doing, because you're going to stop it now" ultimate. He starts off a little weak in lane, but if he can get free farm he becomes a force to be reckoned with. This was my first video demo'ing the Battlefury I got from the Plantronics.Gamecom headsets. The comment at the end where he practically gives his team most of the credit is why I like watching your videos. A lot of people tend to forget that the a win means good team work; despite the fact that the game is heavily team-orientated.

That moment when it's 3AM on a Friday and you're checking TH-cam one last time before you go to bed and the prefect video comes up.
Early game the supports harrass a lot in the lane and give the carry space to farm. Mid game they are always prepared with tp's to come and turn a gank around, and throughout the whole game early to late they keep key-wards up at all times to prevent ganks
Reasons against it: backtrack is a triggered heal, so 30% bigger hits means you're more likely do die regardless; you max backtrack and trade it's effect for AS, but you can reach the same attack speed with better items that have no cooldown and make you more survivable, sinergizing with backtrack instead; a single disabler or a ranged dps can really punish your MoM+chronosphere combo.
They do stack. Bashes itself do not stack (Skullbaser, Greater Bash), but MKB grants Mini-Bashes, which work independently as mini stuns. Troll's Dodge is applied to heroes who get hit by the axes, so it is good to have it. Also for Windrunner and PA.

What i learned from purge is: get lucky and find good teams that ward and move poperly if you play carry, and if you play support find people who farm properly

Purge, i really like this kind of videos because you point your mistakes and talks about how what you did could be better, so if you start doing this in more serious games like in captains mode and play and give tips in defferent positions like offlane, carry, middle lane, etc, it would really help us who want to start in the competitive dota, thanks, love ur vids

I'm a major n00b to DotA 2 and sometimes I don't know why you went one build over another.
you can take midas in any hero, but its recommended to pick it in a carry, if you are having free farm, or if you feel that you are too behind in xp and gold, so midas will give you a boost. it's also good in heroes that have skills that procs with attack speed (like void's bash)
He is the hardest carry in the game thanks to his ulti, chronosphere. Which simply means you cannot let him farm. If you shut him down early on with almost constant ganks, he won't get to the invincible point at the lategame. Ganks ganks and more ganks, also try to either keep him stunned or focus him first in the teamfights.
He meant wind run and whirling axes. But you are completely right about the item build.

Purge is fantastic. I just started Dota and his insights have been invaluable. That said, LoL has some extremely professional streamers (Voyboy) that are on par with, if not better than Purge (at least in terms of detailed explanations). One reason there are so many obnoxious LoL streamers is because there are so many LoL streamers. It's a bigger sample size which means, statistically, you will have more obnoxious brats. And we all know the louder you are the more you stand out on the internet.

just a question. i have that battlefury for void but it doesn't give me the cleave effect. any suggestions?
That's like saying to a new player: 'You shouldn't try to use any of the netbuilds on heroes, instead, you should create your own.'
Through trial and error, he might finally make a not shitty build on anyone, but it still helps a lot to have a guidance. For example, I can't figure out how to get optimal unit group hotkeys, because I'm using 1,2,3... for items.

Don't always assume that on the losing side only braindead cabbages are playing.
They didn't "let him farm", It was the rest of Purge's team that pressured towers and was very active in the early-mid game, forcing the enemy team away from Void. The only time they tried going on him everyone teleported to help.
The enemies probably wanted to stop his farm, but they had too many carries to resist even 4v5 pressure. It was good teamwork where everyone did his part.

Yea, the kinda stack. You got the 25% chance to do the time lock bash and the 35% (?) chance to do the mkb mini bash. So you got a chance of 60% to do one of the bashes. Works with almost every percentage based item. For example with 4 deadalus you always crit.

It's more time efficient to get recipe first because you can get the glove from the sideshop which is faster than getting recipe from courier.
people underrate the hand of midas, yes it's a farm item but that 30 attack speed bonus is very nice for his passive bash ability.
Didn't use to be. Not sure if they changed it, but in Dota 1, you could kill it, and void with the right items was one of the few that could legitimately (sniper being another because he can stand outside of its range)
I kniw this might be a dumb question, but why is he draging a box over creep to get last hits, does it do anything special?
He picked MKB for the truestrike, not for dealing damage. Two heroes had evasion and TW axes can be seen as evasion on the entire enemy team, chronosphere ins't always up, so MKB was the right choice.
The only non stacking bash source on melee heroes is Basher, otherwise damage can stack on a double proc and only the longest stun duration applies.
If you have MKB and time lock you have 35% chance of 100 damage ministun, 25% of 70 damage time lock and about 9% chance of a 170 damage time lock.
That would push the lane and make it less safe to farm. He is using it on an almost dead creep because that makes the midas push no more than a last hit. If he last hits the low hp one then used the midas on a full hp one then the wave pushes.

Just for the record, MKB does give you a bash, stuns for 0.01s and gives 100 damage, the stun is negligible (except in cancelling tp's/channels) but the damage is definitely not something to ignore.. although the truestrike is the main reason for picking it up :)
When you get midas why do you go recipe first? I always wondered this when I watch your videos. Wouldn't it be better to have the extra attack speed to get the extra gold to get hte recipe?

Reasons for it: you can be active as soon as you hit level 6.
This doubles as a reason against: if you don't score early kills you're wasting MoM potential, so you'd be better off with another item. If you try to get kills and fail you're wasting your precious carry time, and it can cost you the game.

As much as I agree with this, it's great to have a base to work from. IN this case he'll build off purges to find his own combination.
Yes, on his stream because they can't hear and some of his viewers need bad play explained to them. But he doesn't trash talk them.
It's actually kind of a big deal; 5 last hits is estimated to be equivalent to 250 gold
If he misses 5 then he could be 250 gold away from and item i.e mask of madness which could completely alter the outcome of a team fight.
Purge, if you have like 50% magic resistance and activate pipe, the pipe will absorb 400 magic damage or it absorbs more since u have magic resistance ?

Haha, Purge said get 2 BF's, one in RL, the other in your item slot. Purge relates real life to his hero xD.
It was a limitation of the WC3 engine. By the time Warkeys came out, everyone was use to it.

Purge used to be pretty shit talky and rude to his teammates, but he change for the better. It's nice to see and i'm happy that he did that.
Purge didint need MKB actually, he just reacted from that one fight. Void has Timewalk+Chrono, Troll has to walk around, as long as he catches troll, he'll decimate troll every time

I think it can be best to base your hotkeys off of someone who has been playing the game for a while. You don't need to keep them exactly as he has them, but they can help you get started with custom binds. I know when i first started, the hotkey layout that I used was incredibly clunky, after adjusting Merlini's keys to my liking I find my play much better.
30:36 - Did that chain frost just bounce off the dropped gem? Or it bounced off the now dead body of Troll even though he was dead before it chained to him, maybe a bug?

I believe he bought it for Windrunner who has evasion, PA who has evasion as well as the miss chance on Troll's axes

How do you handle being harassed in lane as Void? There always seems to be a ranged hero or something harassing me so I can't get last hits. Any tips?

Actually it's a bad idea to Midas if you're behind on gold farm. You need to use it ten times (more than 15 minutes if you use it diligently) to only cover the cost.
It will boost your gpm but that gpm has already been spent on midas itself.
It is a good idea only if you are sure you will be spending more than 15 minutes farming, because in that situation you will have a gold and xp boost. That's why it's usually rushed as first item.

I like to skip the treads to MoM berofe, and then i Like to buy a mjonir and deadalus and a MKB, rarely i buy a battlefury

Yeah, good point I hadn't thought about that. I still however think that damage (and survivability) should be built before MoM :)

Just because it's in a pub game doesn't make it instantly worthless. As always, the carry should change build depending on what their team needs. MoM can be just as good in pubs as in pro matches.
This game kinda highlights a weird phenomenon I've been experiencing lately. I have 1000 plus games won in dota 2 with a good positive w/l ratio. Despite this the past few weeks or month even the skill of people I'm matched with and against has dropped drastically. People with 1000 wins on record but still don't know thing as like how to double stack or properly pull a lane or triplane.
Question: when is it necessary to get a hand of midas and for which type of hero?
I explained it clearly. I will again, one last time. Please stop asking because the answer will be the same.
On a pro game picking MoM is a tactical choice, probably involving all the heroes from the picking phase, used if they need a carry active in the early-mid game.
On a pub game picking MoM is a coin toss that can either win the game or just get you killed 30% faster, wasting time better spent farming.
It's like shadow blade. Will they buy dust? Can that ranged dps avoid your chronosphere?

You bought MKB that game, I believe it doesn't stack with Void's bash, does it? Did you buy it only for Troll Warlord? Since you had chrono it would cancel his evasion and the bash from it is useless, since you got your own. Don't you think that was a little waste of money?

MKB doesn't give you Bash. It prevents you from missing, negating Phantom Assassin's Blur.
Void is the hardest carry in the game currently, but if someone was going to have a chance I would say sven based on the amount of armor he has and overall tank. Also he could possibly win if he gets lucky with his crits and void unlucky with bashes. After all void does not have much hp and survives off luck through backtrack.
Yeah, when you don't have the money for the whole item and the items you need to finishit are sold in the sideshop it saves you a lot of time, 'cause the courier was not on use at that time.
I'd start with a recipe for soul ring as fast as I can most of the times (when needed by the hero).
