Just an FYI. The "star" bit that you refer to is called a Torx bit. But hey, you're the one making the video. I'm just an arm chair quarterback. Thanks.

The window is set in silicone. I got it all off the glass, left the silicone in the bottom two tracks, cleaned everything with alcohol and use Qtips in the groves to get them clean, then filled the groves with GOOP, placed the window down into both tracks (had to remove the speaker to get at the one side), temporarily connected the window control and lifted it all the way to the top to press the tracks firmly on the window. Goop is way tougher than silicone, I also used some sand paper on the glass to make sure it bonds well.
Your video helped me. Saved myself 300,00 bucks. (02 Expedition).
03 Durango passenger door did the same thing and I got lazy and took it in. 300.00 bucks to have the dealer fix it. If I had known it was this simple I would have done it myself.
    Thanks for the great video.

I'm about to try this on my 94' Navajo (Explorer). Just installed a new regulator and motor since the previous one had quite literally disintegrated at all of the plastic track points and the metal track pieces were all in the bottom of the door. Goes up fine, but the left side of the glass keeps coming out when it goes down. Exact same clips as the ones in the video lol..

You mentioned “someone having problems with it before” and that they had applied glued to the clip. That’s actually silicone that was applied at the bottom of the inside of the window clip by the manufacturer. This was to prevent rattling from the contact between the metal clip and window glass. The silicone would get pushed out of the ends of the clip like that when they would seat the window before the silicone had cured

"Goop" works better than silicone. Still a bit flexible, but way better holding power.

Thank you again for another good simple video. Because of your dodge video, I changed the belt myself and SOLD my cat at a fair price today. But what's funny that I also have a 2000 Expedition XLT and the same door only opens from the inside and the window won't go all the way up. That neon wore me out today but soon I will take on this video and my door issue. THANK YOU! THANK YOU

Thinking perhaps you can order some of those different sets of those clips tabs etc removers and plastic remover for rash to bumper to bumper they sell on Amazon, they also have replacement plastic tabs, screws etc that comes with them for around $10 - $25 depending what you get and how many extra replacement plastic clips, plugs screws. Make your work easier also if you come across broken ones.. or break one, you'll be all set.

Thanks! Was thinking about drilling two small holes with a dremel tool glass cutting bit. But...but most people don't like working with glass. So I'll do the clips like you said.

@@FixingWithPassion drilling would be a mistake. It is tempered glass.

Did you or anybody find a better glue? I have this problem too... The glue works for awhile, but Florida summers are so hot I think the glue melts off... I think this was the problem in the first place too that caused it to happen.

i used liquid nail. lasted few mouths. froz window poped it tho.. them window motors are torqueeeee.. iam goin to try butal tape.. its used to put old style widowshields in.. stays plyable. i think that is what is needed.. sillycone doesnt give as much and other glues will harden... local bobyshop.. hey dude can i get about 2 inchs of butal tape or sprit of butal glue in these 2 spots

Thanks a lot. Can't believe the poor craftsmanship though. I'm used to having the channel go the entire length of the window in other cars.
