Thanks for this video explaining and showing how and why the window goes off the track. I had watched Ponyo Tran's video and got to the point where he replaced the bolt but didn't realize I had to realign the window to the track until I watched your video. I'm pretty sure this saved me some money by doing it myself so here's some beer money for your help! Thank you.

This is one of the BEST DIY YT videos ever made. It's not flashy with visual tricks.. There's not long winded talking about things that don't matter to the issue at hand. Everything is straightforward & simple. Also, I've NEVER seen anyone use grease to make the window move through the track like that... Other mechanics would tell you to buy a while new track or window. AWESOME AWESOME AWESOME JOB !!!

Thanks for the great info! Just fixed my wife’s 2020 Camry. I have no idea how the driver window came off its front track but it did. I removed the rear bolt, and the front slipped right in to the track, I reinstalled the bolt, and lubed the tracks with silicone spray. Window works like a charm. Thanks again.

This might be the best diy repair video ive ever seen. Clearly shot, to the point, and brilliant fix. Didnt even waste time talking about door trim removal.
After dealing with this issue for al long time, and after replacing the regulator assembly, i wanted to drive the car off a cliff.
Sir thank you. You have contributed greatly to making my life better and making me a happier person.

The glue giving out was my exact problem, Thank you. I called my mechanic and he said to use a 2 part epoxy to glue it back on and that worked great. Close the window and let it sit over night to fully cure. In my Elantra you can unscrew the window holder to properly clean the old glue off to expose the ridges for the glue to cling to. I used a razor blade. Also, silicone spray is much easier instead of trying to stuff grease in the cracks using a Q-tip. Awesome video. Thank you Sir.

Great video! You saved me a lot of time and money with the silicone grease suggestion. Two years ago my window glass separated from the bar that raises it. I managed to fix myself but was a royal pain. When the window again started to become unbalanced I watched this video first to refresh my memory on how to fix. I had never seen the suggestion to clean and lubricate the tracks with silicone grease but I tried that first thing and it was fixed! Everything else was fine. I took the time to proactively lubricate all my other windows. Thank you!!

This was probably the most informative video I have ever seen. I just got a truck, and the window was off track. I spent over 1 hour trying to get it back on track, finally I did. However, the window has attempted to pop back off the track again. It was raining, it was dark, so I just gave up and made sure at least the window was up.
I'm absolutely going to try this silicone method.
I didn't even think of this.
I'll let you know if it works.
    Thanks so much.

Thank you so much! Did this to fix my window that had unglued and gone off the rail. Did this exact thing. Cleaned the area with some rubbing alcohol and paper towels. Cleaned and greased the tracks. Then applied the silicone to the glass and the plastic. Rolled the window up and let it cure for 24 hours. Worked like a charm. Thank you so much!

Beautiful . My 95 Camry drivers' side window has been coming out of the rear upper slot for years. I just replaced a rear passenger side door handle after seeing a video of how to do that. After seeing this video of your fix, I'm going to dive into looking at my malfuntionimg window after at least 15 years. I'm betting it will be a simple fix too. Thank you for posting a very clear video and narative as to how to keep at it till the cure comes. Thanks again. 🙂

Thanks for posting this! I have a problem where it rolls up unevenly; gap on door handle side and barely closes when raising. I'm going to clean and grease the tracks. You made a good point about the concept of balance in the tracks; snags a bit on one side, causes it to go off course. Good investigative powers sir!

    Thank you kindly sir!
You are a caring individual and I find it really refreshing that you took the time to make and share this information video, out of the consideration and kindness in your heart, which is much different than so many on TH-cam, who seek notariaty, compensation or foolish pride/fame. You just did this because you are a good, sweet, kind, human being.
As much as I am disappointed in the human race today, you just made me very happy, almost to tears: Very sincerely appreciate the way you unselfishly took the time and did this kind act for others to benefit from.
I wish you God's blessings and all good things.

Smart, smart, smart, no genius, I have had the exact same problem, one of my window clips actually broke off so I glued it and then it didn’t hold, so I pulled the window completely out glued it again and really waited and cured it and then carefully reinstalled the window. And at that time I think I used. WD-40 and lubed up the lift part and the gears, but not the track. And it worked for about a week, and then bang one day it fell inside the door again and was off track, so I fixed it and just stopped using it. Then the other day I purchased a replacement window figuring I needed to start from scratch.
Today I am working on it, I am mid job right now, and the repair on the old window is still good, the glue has held up well. But it keeps going off track, now I know why. You sir are awesome, great job, great video, great explanation. Well done, you are a genius!!!

    Thanks for the video.
In my case, the front clip had broken off from the glass entirely, but the bolt was still there.
That did not really affect operation until the bolt at the rear fell out.
When I took the lining off, and lowered the window, it jumped out of the rail/track.
With a bit of effort, I was able to loosen the window and rotate the rear upwards enough to reseat the front of the glass back into the track.
You will have to undo the rear bolt in order to maneuver it first though.
Once both sides are in the rails or tracks, get someone to hold it and raise up the regulator to meet the bolt holes.
    Install both bolts and tighten.
In my case, with the broken front clip, I could only tighten the rear one, so I put some sikaflex style glue stuff around the bolt, and the window.|
Also, use silicon spray would be better, and probably attract less dirt.
Thank you though, very informative video.

Thank you. I actually had mine on track but keep coming off. I'm going to try the grease . Which is what I figured it needed. In messing with this issue, of course, I ended up with a different issue. Somehow, my drivers door won't open from the outside now. I'm hoping something just got disconnected and not broken. So, as of now, I'm climbing through passenger seat to get in. The door works fine to get out. It's very annoying climbing through. Lol

GREETINGS! Another fine video! Keep em coming. P.S. I use Shoe Goo instead of silicone. It makes a stronger bond.

Nice job. I think I'd favor a urethane based sealant over silicone for this application. For example the black rubber sealant you'll find in the auto section of your favorite retailer.

That was going to be my comment. definitely a urethane base sealant would of been a step up
