  • This movie shows Mercedes-Benz's design for an autonomous bus, which recently made its first self-driven journey along a 20-kilometre-long route in the Netherlands.
Developed based on technology in the company's autonomous truck, the Future Bus is able to drive itself along suitable routes, communicate with traffic lights to cross junctions and automatically stop at stations.
The Future Bus recently made a 20 kilometre trip from Amsterdam's Schiphol airport to the nearby town Haarlem, which the company claims makes it the first automated city bus tested in a real-life traffic situation.
"[Future Bus] makes public transport safer, more efficient and more productive," said Wolfgang Bernhard, board member of Mercedes-Benz's parent company Daimler AG.
"More people can travel from A to B quickly, punctually and in comfort, to the benefit of all: bus operators, bus drivers and passengers."

There was another Mercedes bus commercial that showed only Mercedes cars on the road around it. I love how realistic these commercials are.

Looks nice but has a lot less passenger seats. I guess you can fit in more people like this if they all stand but that's not very practical for the passenger.

Lol good concept but i don't like sits, it has few sits than ordinary bus. Bring some additional sits for public passengers.

Nice bus, but just for not more then 10 people? And still on fuel. The real future is no fuel at all. But the lights inside and outside are magnificent. Woowww! Really super cool and futuristic indeed. Only now for many people and to step in at the same time and no fuel engines. And i prefer rearview mirrors. What if there is an electronic malfunction in the camera's or computers? Or what about a detection malfunction in it? Then you see nothing at all. Very bad idea, it's always convenient for the security when there are electronic malfunctions. Just like we need always paper notes to be shore we lose nothing at electronic malfunctions. We always need that some things to keep our photo's, notes and rear view mirrors as well.

Welp,The pedestrian traffic and malfunctioning lawsuits will be underway shortly after. If the human error is inevitable then so will anything we build, as always. Our stationary computers at home malfunction and these will be moving at 50 plus miles per hour. But I guess a few will have to get busted up in in the process until perfection comes about. They better not take that driver out of the seat for a while after production.
