That's what I use as well.. Just had the seat removed and leveled it out with wedges of wood and then on big piece of wood that I got at a hardware store. or lumber yard. It's a round piece of plywood, that was already cut round.. about two feet across.. I raise and lower it by the lever under the seat area.. When I lower it, I have to add my weight.. which is considerable.. lol by placing my hand on it and pushing down.. I also have a large professional one that cost hundreds,, lol

I'm still working getting my gear setup, with my limited funds lol. I scraped an old computer chair, took the back and seat off, and attached a piece of plywood to the seat plate. So I have something that can spin 360, and raise and lower.
