    Best tutorial I have found. Most TH-cam tutorials give the how, but not the why. Bryan does both and with easy to understand instructions.

    Brilliant! A simple, non-destructive way to enlist almost any effect in a transition. I wouldn't have thought of it. Thank you.

      Exactly! I’m also pro non destructive workflows. In fact, I get anxiety when I have do anything destructive… even with the existence of undo.

    Thanks for this! Made it much easier for me to make our little family videos more exciting. Not much time needed to set it up and copy paste able and then adjustable for other transitions later. I used the concept to whip right and whip down and also zoom in. Subscribed!

      i'm having a similar issue with my adjustment layers just not working at all, at first they did work but after a million other errors were fixed it just stopped working.. all i have on the adjustment layers is a keyframed s_shake effect and now not a single one of them is working at all and pretty soon i might scissor kick my monitor, so if a soul knows how to fix that lmk

    What do you mean moving by 10 frames . the frame is the number of image in a second now if my video is 30 frame per second how can i move it by 10 frames (the methode of shift up doesn't work on adobe 2023😢😢please help)

    Thanks for the tutorial, but i wish they would make transitions that you drag between two clips and be done with it(2 secs...old school). Feel like all this "making a transition" breaks the momentum of actually editing.

    • @BryanHoltFX
      @BryanHoltFX  ปีที่แล้ว

      I don't disagree, however hopefully out of this video, you can see how to template these effects so you don't have to keep creating them and can focus on the edit!

  • @Ungechillt
    @Ungechillt ปีที่แล้ว +1

    How can you save the adjustment layers so you can use them in different projects? I remember being able to drag and drop adjustment layers from a folder in the effects window to a sequence. But I don't know how to implement it :/

    • @BryanHoltFX
      @BryanHoltFX  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sure! I should probably do a video on this (I just wrote it down in my endless notes of videos to do when I get the time!). But once you have an adjustment layer you like, go to the (1) Effects Control Panel. Select the effects you would like to save. (2) Right Click and hit save preset. (3) You should be able to find them in your effects panel now within the project.
      Let me know if this works for you!

    • @Ungechillt
      @Ungechillt ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@BryanHoltFX thanks for your answer! I know about this trick, but it’s not quite what I am looking for. Cause when I use the effect again, I’ll have to create new adjustment layers every time. I think there used to be a way to store the effect + the adjustment layers somewhere drag and drop them together on top of the clips. But maybe I am wrong 😅
      Thanks for your help anyway! :)

    • @BryanHoltFX
      @BryanHoltFX  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Ungechillt Oh! Nest it is how I do that. And then I save a project with all the nested sequences. I find an easy way to template my effects.

    ı am a beginner and I couldn't catch the use of making a nest sequence. you only used the adjustment layer why did you nest it. what is the use of nest sequence

    • @BryanHoltFX
      @BryanHoltFX  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Easier to manipulate, template and reuse in other sequences. Especially when you combine a series of effects.

    Why did you nest it?

    • @BryanHoltFX
      @BryanHoltFX  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I try to explain it at 2:05 but basically, its a work around due to some adjustments for whatever reason not working as intended. Keep in mind this tutorial is slightly outdated.

  • @googlyzer547
    @googlyzer547 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    At the 8:21 mark, you extra keyframe you added was there a point in adding it in the first place since you deleted it anyway. I think it was the next whip you created you didn't add the extra keyframe

    • @BryanHoltFX
      @BryanHoltFX  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I’m trying to remember my thought process but with this effect that’s an extra key frame and not needed (I may have very well made a mistake there)
      I still use this method quite often, and when I do it I don’t add that extra key frame
      You would add it to freeze your data to carry it over from clip to clip if that makes sense. But it’s not needed in this case. Hope that helps!

    Is it just me or all of these new TH-camrs appear to be far too professional to have so little views and subscribers?

    • @BryanHoltFX

      @ellendegenerated1 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@BryanHoltFX Don't lose that enthusiasm and drive. People tend to do that. Lots of good TH-camrs just give up. Starting off a TH-cam channel can be challenging as it reuiqres consistency, even when there are little views. It can be a massive hit on one's morale. I want you to truly believe that you can become known. Don't give up because giving up will never get you there.
