We use adjustment layers for every video, they're so helpful! And we have to adjust the presets as well, because we set up the lighting for each shooting day 🤷♂️😎

Great tip. Color grading really makes a difference in a video and this tip really speeds up the process. As a Final Cut Pro user the process is a bit different but translates well from what you presented.

I saw the video for the best settings for the go pro, but I was wondering if you can help explain/show a little more on a video of how to edit those videos shot on the go pro to post Primarily on Instagram? Loved Premiere! Used it on Windows to edit ouir short films. It was a shared account owned by my partner but when I moved on to feature films in production I lost access to it. Now I use only Macs but have yet to justify a pro editor so I get simple things done in iMovie.

Never tried, but, in most of adobe softwares, you can link an adjustment layer to the first one inderneath only. Not sure about premiere pro but if so, you usualy press option and click between both layers you want to link (give it a try... my computer is shut down and I'm too lazy since I'm falling asleep haha

Hey Dave, your idea about a 'basics video' on Premiere Pro is exactly what I want. A video j u s t showing the very minimum you have to know and do in it to make a good? video, awesome. Thanks mate.
p.s. You could also explain how the setting on the camera dovetail into how this affects the process. i.e. 1080p v 4K and S-Log v ?. Sorry, one last 'also'. Also with the Premiere Pro video, it wouldn't be complete without explaining the ??? 'getting it on to TH-cam part... I think its call 'Rendering"? and uploading, is that right? You know, Cradle to Grave. Maybe more than one video? but if they could be in sequence one after the other so we are building in quick succession that would be cool.

So, I could put together multiple clips on D log, then put an adjustmentayer to color correct and add saturation, highloghts and shadows then another adjustment layers to add one of my preset lut or just color grade it there and since my D log footage look almost pretty much the same, I'll only have minimum adjustment to do on a few single clips if they don't exactly match each other then go ahead with adjustment layers? (Just like when I edit photos). Awesome. Im new to video editing and used to color correct clip by clip and then color grad clip by clip which was taking forever

One thing I learned about adjustment layers, Once one is above your clip, you can't resize or adjust the clip below before turning in off... lol

Can you lower the adjustment layer size of the proxy size file beneath it and when I export it to 4096x2190 will that work?

I thought the adjustment layer applies effect to overall composed frame but it appears that it applies to each and every clip in every layer below it. This behaviour seems to be different that photoshop.

How to place transition on an adjustment layer then above that adjustment layer when i place another adjustment layer for cinematic bars then transition does not work ,how to make both work together?
I've tried to export with an adjustment layer, however, every time it exports, the color grade stayed the same prior to the adjustment. Has this ever happened with you?

@@mohdzaheerqureshi4834 Thank you for your advice. Figured out the issue. I'm using an iMac Pro and the Gamma causes a difference in the video quality. Have to download a file from Adobe and apply it as a LUT
