    If you don't have the fancy piston retractor tool set, a large C clamp works too.

      Yes, a large c-clamp but also using one of the old brake pads to push against the cylinder

    Thanks. Great tutorial, noticed the guide pins are different, does it matter where they go? I saw on another forum saying the round one goes on the top and the one with 3 lengthy flats on the bottom. It looks like you had it reversed.

      No adjustments would be needed just check it for any damage or excessive wear

    This is a reach out to anybody... I have a 1994 GMC extended cab stepside V6... The motor has a lower end knock... It needs a little TLC but no dents straight body.. unfortunately I don't have the means to get a new motor or even a rebuilt... And I can't bear the thought of sending her to a junkyard where she will be cannibalized... If anyone would be interested I would rather see her go to a good home..
