Fishing Blackpool & Lytham Catching Flounder & Whiting plus loads of Dog Fish - UK Sea Fishing

- This video was me & my dad fishing and catching flounder in May 2022, was a very enjoyable session with a great haul of fish caught on Mackerel, squid & fresh lugworm baits. The video is two days of fishing edited into one. The second session saw the most fish. The weather was calm with summer like conditions until near the end of the first session when it went cold. Both sessions saw nice fish. Anyone on holiday in either Lytham or Blackpool why not have a go at fishing with a very good chance of some great fish. In this first session, I show via time-lapse how fast the sea floods in as the tide comes up the Ribble estuary.
A big tally of Dog Fish or Cat Shark made for a very busy next session at Thornton Cleveleys with many at a nice size.
Was lovely weather fishing but no time-lapse this time as the camera I dub as “rod cam’ had an issue due to our trolley.

Cleveleys Parking (Five Bar Gate fishing venue) FY5 1LT nearest postcode simply follow Thornton gate/North Promenade or Rossall Promenade to the parking area.

Loved the flounders some unusual markings as well and as for doggies absolutely stunning markings on them Tim.

Thanks father Shane, yeah very bright colour from the worm that day, no idea why...just nature being it surprising random self I guess...if my dad was anymore laid back he'd fall over 🤣...just for transparency and not to mislead the public the Belgium Bun was shop bought ....was yummy obvs 😋 tight lines pal. 🎣

At low tide there’s a gaper clam bed where you was grate bass bate
Thanks again for the comment Jack, We got a load of Gaper early this year after the storms and still have lots left in the freezer, our aim was to use them for the Bass, it's looking about time now, if we can get out and target some bars of silver....stay tuned. Tight lines. 🎣

Yeah equal to many other species in my eyes, I can understand if your local area has amazing fishing like tons of bass, Hounds and Rays etc...I guess dog fish can really get in the way of targeting those species. Fished that wen I was a kid good for flattys but grannies bay is better it’s all changed since I fished there only fish gyn square now had some nice bass from there this year pal
Thanks for the comment Jack, we have oddly never fished Gynn at Blackpool, seemed without a permit to park might have been a walk from the car but as ever this might be just an assumption. We decided after making the channel we will get lots of recommended spots to fish so we will likey try the Gynn along with the others. Tight lines pal, all the best. 🎣👍
