JerryHarway Surely he could have done it in a studio in America and had it sent to Canada if they had paid him enough rather than he travel all the way there.
Megron was a schemer he thought of everything just in case he list the war he made plans and told future generations of deceptions to carry his work he instructed whoever to time travel in order to defeat the Autobots dead in the ark Megatron also wrote the covenant of primus
My theory is it was in honor of their friendship with humanity that all future generations be modified to the size & forms allowing them able to live among humans either with or in disguise
I thought it was like evolution...you know like why there are very few big animals today and everything got smaller over time.....to conserve energy and make it easier to survive.
I thought the general size-change also had to do with the climate and atmospheric conditions; when brontosaurus and T-rex roamed the earth, there was more oxygen and it was warmer.
When I first watched this series, I thought it was crap with the story going nowhere. And then at 2:20, all three seasons suddenly made sense when that arm appeared.
I always thought this scene was so badass back in the day! And it still is. I also like how it kind of flushed out the Decepticons/Megatron and make them somewhat sympathetic. Until it gets to the scene where Megatron says that evil has triumphed.... That kind of makes them less sympathetic. But it was still a pretty deep scene for a kids show but I'm sure it was for the older audiences watching.
Megatron stole the disk because A: It contains information pertinent to the dawn of man and the history of the earth, useful if you have a shiny new transwarp drive. B: It has a secret encoded message by the original Megatron listing the location of the Ark creating a plan to destroy the Autobots in the past before they can defeat the Deceptacons in the Great War (aka the G1 Transformers series). If Optimus Prime was destroyed, it would forever prevent the Maximals from existing and therefor the Predacons would be free to rule Cybertron and beyond. Destroying mankind would be a sweet bonus given their role in aiding the Autobots.
If you're referring to the Beast Wars Megatron, it's a sign of how much of the finer details of Cybertron history he was ignorant about. He called the Autobot computer Teletraan-1 Tele-TRON instead of Tele-TRAN after all whenever he pronounced the name. The war didn't even start in 1984 as Beast Wars kept having different bots saying. It started millions of years before the Autobots and Decepticons who traveled with Prime and G1 Megatron woke up on Earth in 1984 when the volcano that trapped them finally decided to erupt. The ancient Autobot Leaders inside the Matrix seen in FFOD from G1 stated in fact that that particular Great War began soon after Alpha Trion rebuilt Orion Pax into Optimus Prime as an Autobot who could more readily stand against Megatron. They should have more clearly stated that the Earth phase of the Great War started with that 1984 awakening putting aside that the Beast Wars production team either ignored or didn't know of the fact that G1 established that wasn't even the first Great War between Autobot and Decepticon.
jajuan323 was thinking the same thing. I think the Preds were taught a different history, though. With a different narrative and different viewpoint on the result. Hence his speech about a "Day of Reckoning" with the Autobots.
Well if you take in the Infiltration protocol established in IDW's comics back in 06 and apply it to the amalgam of the original cartoon and Marvel comics that made up Beast Wars timeline it's feasible it was indeed a "secret war" on Earth until the robots made their presence known to mankind. For instance the Voyager space craft was launched in the late 70s(1977) while in The Transformers and it's marvel comic adaptation the robots awaken in 1984 by that time Voyager would have passed our solar system instead of just breaking out of the atmosphere as depicted here. A point could be made for Predacon fabricated history but Blackarachnia and Dinobot seem overtly educated on the history of Starscream when he takes over Waspinator so really I just chalk it up to the writers trying to find a way to explain the golden disks and softly reboot G1's timeline of events to better fit the show.
Beast wars = 1-3million years +20 before the siege of Autobot city G1 = 1984 Transformers Headmasters = 2010 Transformers Vicotry = +170 years Transformers Zone = +200 years Beast Wars = + 350 years after the siege of Autobot city
+Astrotankerpixel Moderatus Nope! It's the regular Beast Wars. Being that they ended up back in time, now makes the entire timeline cyclical. But it's not an "alternative timeline" because the Maximals stopped BW Megatron from killing G1 Optimus Prime, which would have undone everything from 1984 to Transformers Zone.

1:10 “This is Megatron, Leader of the Decepticons, and if you are hearing this, it means I’ve failed. This time. Hahahaha! But I know that transwarp technology is being developed, and so I leave this message to any Decepticon descendant that may find may find may find.”
Damn Megatron (G1) Smart move. This is one of the best speeches that I am aware of in any transformers continuity, many of which are from Megatron. This is definitely top 3.
Honestly, as cool as this plan is, it suffers from one MASSIVE error in judgement that dooms it: Without Prime the Cybertronians would have died out long before the "modern" maximals and predicons came to power. Put simply, No Optimus, No Matrix of Leadership as it would have died with him. This means Unicron consumes Cybertron unopposed and likely wipes the universe clean of all life. Even without that, G1 Decepticons could never have maintained a functional peace time civilization. G1 Megatron being the Decepticons best leader is a massive indictment on the subspecies as a whole given his near perfect record of failures with the only major success being somehow preventing the faction from imploding completely. BW Megs would never admit it, but his existence depends just as much on the Autobots having won the great war as the Maximals does. Besides, even if the Decepticons won and thrived, BW Megatron likely never would have existed anyway, as the events leading up to his creation wouldn't have happened.

I feel like they used this version of Megatron in the later series. A revolutionist seeking to free his people with a twisted vision and force, as the G1 Megatron was more of a tactician. Either way both are great characters.
But it turns out that Megatron just made a lie. He actually revolutionize just to conquer Cybertron and turns the entire cybertronian race into mindless slaves and drones.

Loved this show, but never understood why the size difference between the G1 & the beasts...I mean Megatron was a damn Tyrannosaurus for crying out loud!!?!
sieman78 To add to what Koolboy said, the Maximals and Predacons were smaller as they decided to become smaller to reduce their energon consumption, as the energon shortage established in G1 made energon rarer.
Kinda funny how i just realized that the Maximals and Predicons seem to be just about as big as Headmasters. At least now i know i can high five Cheetor without flying miles away
I personally do not like the original series at all, but I think Beast Wars is just AWESOME! And their callbacks to the show offer up some of the best moments in the series. Plus, I love how they also include the Marvel comics in their continuity since those books concluded the G1 storyline.
G1 Megatron's plan: "Plan A: Kill Optimus Prime before a potential Autobot victory and the defeat of the Decepticons. Plan B: Cap Starscream in the head for good measure."
Ahh yes the 90s at its best I loved this show I had this megatron I had soo much of them transformers were the best action figures hands down who with me
I loved the cartoon but my question is that if you look at the size difference between the original transformers & their descendants don't anyone wonder why there descendants is smaller than the original!
They are smaller because it takes less energon to recharge and power them, and it takes less metals and materials to make their bodies so more can be used on powering the planet and it's buildings. and of course making those buildings.
Something interesting that the show didn't get to play out was that the original Megatron's spark was influencing BW's Megatron. That is why he tried to destroy the Ark in the finale.
I initially thought Beast Wars was a mess with no direction. Then they revealed that they were in the past and found the Ark. That's when everything came together for me.
It really was one of the best moments. I remember in seasons 1 and 2 they did drop subtle hints too. Dinobot mentioning the Autobots and Decepticons, Starscream's ghost randomly showing up one time, but also keeping it all one big mystery. My understanding for season 1 they hadn't fully decided on the direction yet.
I never quite understood where exactly in time did this series take place. I heard somewhere that it supposedly took place 10,000 years before the Autobots/Deceps crashed on earth. If thats the case then what became of the Predacons and Maximals afterwards?
Beast Wars is about robots from the future which are descendants of the Autobots and Decepticons. The Maximals and Predacons that appear in the show fight each other on prehistoric earth and at the end of the series, they travel back to the future.
They couldn't afford to hire Frank Welker to record the voice of G1 Megatron, Bob Forward even offered to go to his house with a tape recorder to record it but Frank's a busy man.
@@JerkVegas86 the Maximals and Predacons are the descendents of the Autobots and Decepticons from the far future and Predacon Megatron stole the golden disk and using a transwarp drive went back in time to prehistoric earth and Optimus Primal’s maximal crew followed him to get the disk back.
One problem the Voyager spacecraft was launched from earth on September 5, 1977 and the autobots and decepticons didn’t wake up until 1984. Perhaps what he meant to say was that the Voyager spacecraft landed on cybertron during Megatron’s rule of the planet and he used it to inscode his message that beast wars Megatron found. Sidenote I’d like to think that sound wave and shockwave probably helped him with this plan because I can only assume they are the two most intelligent decepticons that he could trust.

No, this was recorded in Canada. Welker lives in the US. I wouldn't travel to Canada to record one line and then go home either.
JerryHarway
Surely he could have done it in a studio in America and had it sent to Canada if they had paid him enough rather than he travel all the way there.
Megron was a schemer he thought of everything just in case he list the war he made plans and told future generations of deceptions to carry his work he instructed whoever to time travel in order to defeat the Autobots dead in the ark Megatron also wrote the covenant of primus
hugo weaving was unavailable at the time. ........jokes
This right here is what triggered the Vok to send Tigerhawk.
The maximals are really tiny compared to their ancestors.
My theory is it was in honor of their friendship with humanity that all future generations be modified to the size & forms allowing them able to live among humans either with or in disguise
I thought it was like evolution...you know like why there are very few big animals today and everything got smaller over time.....to conserve energy and make it easier to survive.
It was an energy-saving thing, apparently.
I thought the general size-change also had to do with the climate and atmospheric conditions; when brontosaurus and T-rex roamed the earth, there was more oxygen and it was warmer.
In the series they call it "The Great Downgrade". When Ravage shows up they talk about it briefly.
When I first watched this series, I thought it was crap with the story going nowhere. And then at 2:20, all three seasons suddenly made sense when that arm appeared.
How so? Sorry I was born years after the Beast Era and G1 but am still catching up and a huge fan of Transformers, why was Prime's arm so important?

That and the guy who voiced the Predacon Megatron went on to voice Optimus in Animated.

No because that's not what irony means.
When i saw megatron enter the ark in "the agenda pt.3" all those years ago, that was my first fangasm 😄
Always remember the hero is only as good as it's villian
I always thought this scene was so badass back in the day! And it still is. I also like how it kind of flushed out the Decepticons/Megatron and make them somewhat sympathetic. Until it gets to the scene where Megatron says that evil has triumphed.... That kind of makes them less sympathetic. But it was still a pretty deep scene for a kids show but I'm sure it was for the older audiences watching.
megatron could easily be the protagonist of the entire 2 series since he drives it from beginning to end
@@romeokilo4535 Definitely
God, I forgot how god damn *awesome* megatron's voice was and his iconic speeches.
"Secret war between the Autobots and Deceptions." Really Megatron? Really?
He probably had no idea that the war would drag other planets like Earth into it.
They should have more clearly stated that the Earth phase of the Great War started with that 1984 awakening putting aside that the Beast Wars production team either ignored or didn't know of the fact that G1 established that wasn't even the first Great War between Autobot and Decepticon.
jajuan323 shit thats a long comment
jajuan323 was thinking the same thing.
Beast wars = 1-3million years +20 before the siege of Autobot city

+Astrotankerpixel Moderatus Nope! It's the regular Beast Wars. Being that they ended up back in time, now makes the entire timeline cyclical. But it's not an "alternative timeline" because the Maximals stopped BW Megatron from killing G1 Optimus Prime, which would have undone everything from 1984 to Transformers Zone.

Anyone else want this show to be aired remastered?
Like the exact same scripts, audio, etc. but the animation was updated?
Yeeeeeess
How it would turn out. Decepticons beat Autobots. Unicron beats Decepticons. Everyone dead.
1:10 “This is Megatron, Leader of the Decepticons, and if you are hearing this, it means I’ve failed. This time. Hahahaha! But I know that transwarp technology is being developed, and so I leave this message to any Decepticon descendant that may find may find may find.”
Destroying Optimus Prime was a stupid idea. Unicorn would end up conquering Cybertron and beyond.
Megs was like 'Worth it'
Just because Prime would die, that doesn’t mean they couldn’t find another way to kill Unicron.
I was 30 something when I saw Megatron float in the Ark....gave me chills
Damn Megatron (G1) Smart move.
This is one of the best speeches that I am aware of in any transformers continuity, many of which are from Megatron. This is definitely top 3.
Probably records it when he plans to make his final showdown against Optimus Prime. (Which he succeeded to kill him then)
Honestly, as cool as this plan is, it suffers from one MASSIVE error in judgement that dooms it: Without Prime the Cybertronians would have died out long before the "modern" maximals and predicons came to power.
When he hovers over the g1characters was just so epic

Most Beast Wars Maximals are the average height of adult human's, with the execption of Rattrap, Quickstrike and Black Arachnia who are shorter, Megatron is far above average human height, same with Dinobot and Inferno.
I crapped my pants at this scene.
Oh that 4th wall breakage was fucking epic!

Loved this show, but never understood why the size difference between the G1 & the beasts...I mean Megatron was a damn Tyrannosaurus for crying out loud!!?!
sieman78 its because the smaller bodies use less energon
sieman78 To add to what Koolboy said, the Maximals and Predacons were smaller as they decided to become smaller to reduce their energon consumption, as the energon shortage established in G1 made energon rarer.
transformers has never focused much on scale.
To save power
Kinda funny how i just realized that the Maximals and Predicons seem to be just about as big as Headmasters. At least now i know i can high five Cheetor without flying miles away
Reminder of why this is such a phenomenally better series than any other Transformers series.
I personally do not like the original series at all, but I think Beast Wars is just AWESOME! And their callbacks to the show offer up some of the best moments in the series. Plus, I love how they also include the Marvel comics in their continuity since those books concluded the G1 storyline.
I always had a problem with the development disc cause the information is stored around it not going down

I loved the cartoon but my question is that if you look at the size difference between the original transformers & their descendants don't anyone wonder why there descendants is smaller than the original!
My guess it was to use less energon and to be less imposing on other races
They are smaller because it takes less energon to recharge and power them, and it takes less metals and materials to make their bodies so more can be used on powering the planet and it's buildings. and of course making those buildings.
A key detail in that being when both sides occasionly call the autobots and deciptons energon guzzlers

Something interesting that the show didn't get to play out was that the original Megatron's spark was influencing BW's Megatron. That is why he tried to destroy the Ark in the finale.
The agenda pt. 3 is what gave me my first fangasm 😀
if megatron really wanted to fuck over the maximals he would attacked primes spark, not his face
OOOOH, 'The Agenda' one of the cliff hangers ever. Still one of my top Transformers moments.
+Geekin It with JimClassic - Seeing Soundwave, Starscream was amazing. As soon as I saw the arm of Optimus Prime, everything made sense right there.
autobot power!
I never quite understood where exactly in time did this series take place. I heard somewhere that it supposedly took place 10,000 years before the Autobots/Deceps crashed on earth. If thats the case then what became of the Predacons and Maximals afterwards?
takes place in the future on another planet like earth still in the stone age
least I think it does. I dont remember.
Beast Wars is about robots from the future which are descendants of the Autobots and Decepticons. The Maximals and Predacons that appear in the show fight each other on prehistoric earth and at the end of the series, they travel back to the future.
No it is Earth 4 million years into the past
Evin Ceniceros was probably thinking of beast machines

One problem the Voyager spacecraft was launched from earth on September 5, 1977 and the autobots and decepticons didn’t wake up until 1984. Perhaps what he meant to say was that the Voyager spacecraft landed on cybertron during Megatron’s rule of the planet and he used it to inscode his message that beast wars Megatron found. Sidenote I’d like to think that sound wave and shockwave probably helped him with this plan because I can only assume they are the two most intelligent decepticons that he could trust.
1:11 I wonder if the producers of the show would have recast the original Megatron himself Frank Welker to reprise his role for this nostalgia moment in the show for the original recording instead of Gary Chalk
They approached Welker to voice this scene but he wanted to much money for it. Plus it was a costly measure to travel to US just to record one scene.
Didn't Welker provide beast sounds for this series anyway?
He didn't want too much money, the BW budget couldn't afford it, Bob offered to go to his house to record it with a tape recorder but Frank's a busy man.
Peter Cullen watched "Optimal Solution" with his family and said later in an interview ""Why wasn't I asked back?" Answer: Money, as they couldn't afford him, so they didn't ask. He would have gladly done a cameo voice role in the moment that Optimus Prime awakens face to face with Optimal Optimus if asked"
Why did he steal the golden disk? It probably had his favorite mix tape on it.
If that partial piece of golden disk is from Earth's 20th century.... How did it get MILLIONS OF YEARS IN THE PAST???
Heck, yeah! I love this show. I used to watch this as a kid. I got the first season, but non the second nor third.
The planets being sucked in by the time storm easily represents that without Optimus the deceptions would have overpowered the remaining autobots and then started their empire building. The worlds being sucked in by an expanding time storm seem to represent how they’d spread across the galaxy taking worlds easily without effort if there was no one to stop them. The time storm coming from the mountain also looks like an expanding or growing Tower of Babel. Which connects to the continuous technical,
expansion leading to space and then expansion across the galaxy like some kind of decepticon singularity,
Take that message must've been created right before his last battle against Optimus Prime from the movie.
Yeah I had the golden disk message was sent events after the Ultimate doom trilogy the message was sent adrift golden disk was launched in 1973 as megatron was blown half the universe to cybertron.
Why does Megatron (original) look like he has fangs?
original optimus making a t rex look like a baby kitten in size lol

Wow Megatron had the first fidget spinner :P
This really should be part 2.
So basically he did it so he can avenge the predacon's oppression and become the new ruler of Cybertron and transformer society.
I Truly Love that Transformers (1996 - 1999) Beast is a Spinoff of The Transformers (1984 - 1987) Generation One. Even though Gary Chalk did an Okay Performance as Generation One Megatron in Beast Wars I do wish that they could’ve gotten Frank Welker. I truly Love The Meeting between Generation One Megatron and Predacon Megatron. There Meeting is still a Thousand Times Better Than The Meeting between Megatron and Predacon Megatron in Transformers War For Cybertron Trilogy. While Beast Wars Predacon Megatron Respected Generation One Megatron but he would have never been his Slave but War For Cybertron Predacon Megatron literally became Megatron’s Slave and lost control of The Predacons.
I can't believe the Maximals lost the Beast Wars....Megatron always had a Sean Connery tinge to his accent haha
Here's the craziest thing of all because both Megatrons now fused together if anyone kills him it will create another time storm!!
Yeah, that was an issue when the Vok tried to use Tigerhawk to do that very thing.
So, technically, Predacon Megatron has a power boost that doubles as a shield.
@@MetroXLR99 also it's a good thing that the attack on the early humans was stopped buy Dinobot because if the early humans start dying off in that time billions and billions of people in the future timeline Earth will die

This was a great plot twist
That's cute they did this.
However actual messing with time travel wouldn't make this Megatron "win"
Killing Optimus would destroy both Decepticons and Autobots because without the Matrix, the darkest hour is said to destroy them both.
