Upper Deck retail products are horrible compared to Topps retail. I did okay with the hockey retail, but I also grabbed some basketball, football and baseball retail from Walmart and managed to get a J. A. Happ mini from Allen & Ginter numbered out of 25. Don't know much about the other sports from hockey, but they were way more fun to open.

And what do I pull from the first tin… that’s right, Cole Caufield YG rookie ,and it doesn’t end there. I opened the next tin and I pull a second Caufield YG rookie. It was an all around good day. The back 4 cards in every pack looked like they got pinched by a press or something. Kinda like when cards get crimped on top or bottom edge when the wrapper is sealed. Except these were vertical down the entire card. Flagship is a fffrickin dumpster 🔥 this year!

Really a shame. Should be a more accessible hobby, but I've got to save like 2 weeks of pay just to get a hobby box and still have enough left over for more practical things.
If Upper Deck haden't almost completely monopolized the market it would be a lot more enjoyable to collect these things, but I'm a sucker for the thrill of opening packs just like everyone watching these videos!

Honestly I definitely get what your saying But I think this years series 1 has a lot of potential with guys like zegras, caufield, drysdale, swayman, knight , Jeannot Only time will tell how these rookies will turn out but right now if you can get these guys for cheap it’s worth it cause there only gonna go up from here...maybe caufield scores 35-40 next year and his shoots up in value...same with zegras who is most likely to win rookie of the year meaning his will probably go up in value over time as well
Ive pulled two gold dazzlers caufield from these walmart tins. Card runs about 80-100 so im not mad. Opened 7 tins tho and still havent seen zegras or caufield young guns
How does every other sport do trading cards right, I started collecting hockey but upperdeck has nuked their product. If you go into wallmart and pick up a basketball or football your much better off for your money. Upperdeck needs to be smacked around a bit
I evaluate whether or not im buying series 1 and 2 retail by the price per young guns. I used to pay like 9 bucks a young gun which i thought was steep but theyve pushed it all the way up to 25/young gun, i know inflation and everything but it's completely unacceptable. and then you pull a young guns that went through a wood chipper... i haven't bought any series 1 or 2 since release day of series 1 2020, i pulled the most miscut lafreneiere young guns ever and i just quit on the spot til it gets fixed.
If the quality control wasn’t such a crap on this maybe I actually would invest in some retail product but I totally had good luck with my three boxes of hobby at the beginning of the year when it came out. So I’m not gambling any more money on this
The quality control is absolute garbage. If I want a particular card I'll just buy it from Ebay rather than hope I can get it, and hope it's in decent condition, from a box or tin. Unacceptable.
Next year your going to pay $60 per tin and only be guaranteed half a young gun that got stuck in the gears of the printing machine and kicked across the factory floor. The price point just doesn't match the quality you get. It's unfortunate.

Upper deck is so cheap. It really starred about 12 years ago. They used to have such great autograph checklists now it's always the same 5 mediocre rookies for every product. I wish panini was still making hockey cards

I hit a Caufield YG out of a walmart tin. Was stoked! Took me way too many boxes to get him the first time. was stoked out of only two tins.
I pulled a Pilon YG in my binder purchased and the corners are mint 😂 good job Under Deck!

This costs more than hobby. BreakawaySC has a hobby box for $120 which is $5 a pack and this is 52 for 8 retail packs coming to 6.50 a pack
