All this people complaining about graphics and frame rate and here I am with 24 years completly amazed that you can carry that tiny thing and play a whole game like The Witcher or Mortal Kombat and still look like the console version, the best we had growing up was the PSP lmao and even that was trippy back then
I think it's because we know that it's easy to make one that's at least 2x the performance of the switch. If they upgrade it it needs to do 1080p 60fps stable. I thought we were past the days of 720p and 480p.
I've bought this game on PS4, PC and Switch. The version i play the most is on the Switch. It looks lovely on PC and PS4 but they can't compare to the flexibility of being able to play everywhere which only the Switch can.

Great comparison but the switch version should always be compared to other versions when the AA is turned off , the aa blurs it so much and completely erases a LOT of the texture details. AA off and the switch looks more jagged BUT it importantly has so much more detail 😊
The biggest problem with the switch version for me is the low resolution, if it was 1080p or even 900p it would look so much better, cause the graphics looks very decent and the framerate seems to be very stable.
I play this game on my switch lite and it looks great because the screen is not too big and it fits better with the game resolution. I bet it looks better on the Oled.

What's up with the Nintendo switch one? I'm also playing it on my switch and it seems like I have more detail while my horse, with one of the few settings turned off being bloom (also playing while it's docked)
Please note that in this comparison the switch version has AA turned on, wich significatntly blurres the image. Simply turning it off greatly improves image clarity, resulting in a sharper more detailed image overall. You can also use the sharpness setting to improve......well, image sharpness further.
I've been playing quite a bit of this on PS5 in ray tracing mode and it's been good. Obviously performance mode runs smoother, but man the ray tracing is just nice to see. Playing this game at roughly 30 fps is fine for me, I know some people complain about playing games at 30 fps, but that hasn't bothered me.

The PS5 version is the best, but I still find the Switch version extremely impressive for a handheld, it even manages to maintain the same framerate as the PS4 version.
Here's a take: I like the look of the Switch version in a lot of scenes, just wish it didn't have that blur filter on and ran at anything higher than 720p. I'm hoping if they ever release a more powerful switch which backwards compatibility, that the switch version gets a resolution bump. I would prefer the assets remain the same as the base switch version (color tone, lighting, tree and foliage rendering). No, it's not the same as playing the PC version on low.

It's too bad that the developers have entirely left the Switch version in the dark, and I feel they'll abandon it all in all. I have the PS5 and PC versions of Witcher 3 (obviously because I love this game so much). The Switch port is essential to me due to portability. I could get a Steam Deck but I can't spend any more money on a handheld, especially since I love my Nintendo-exclusive games.

What people that complain about how bad the switch looks aren’t understanding that either the switch is the only console they have the option to play it on therefore those people do not care how bad it looks… or the switch version of the game is being used in supplement while being away from home or when the tv is being used and those people are using the Cross Proggresion/save feature. Also might I add. Graphics aside… there is nothing like playing a big open world RPG on the switch. The ability to play it anywhere is truly a gem and mixing that with the cross progression/save feature is clutch. That’s massive for someone who has a busy lifestyle and busy household and can’t dedicate hours to because of family or work or whatever other shenanigans come up.

I don't care what any of you say, the Switch is my favorite way to play the Witcher 3. I'd guess 75% of my long play through has been played on switch the rest on PC and PS5 (cross saves work pretty good these days). I even love the "blurry" visuals of the Switch version. I can't even explain why. There is something blurry and charming about such a massive game on that little handheld that is enduring. Might even be a testament to good art design that such a pared back version like the Switch one still looks good overall. P.S. can someone point out the difference to me in PS5 ray tracing vs performance? The only major difference I've ever seen with my own eyes is strong light sources in the dark, like using a torch in a cave looks way different, other than that I don't see the ray tracing option at 30fps as worth it compared to a constant 60fps. This is one of those games where it seems like ray tracing insn't all it's cracked up to be. Just doesn't change the overall look of the game much at all to justify the performance hit.

Play it on pc if you can. I played it on pc in 2015, with a mid range gtx 660 from 2012. I could get 30-45 fps with much better visuals thanks to the awesome modding community. A pc with those specs today is less then half the cost of a switch, not to mention the game can be found very cheap for the pc version aswell.
I have a question that concern a game but not the witcher. The two consoles that I have are the PS4 and the switch oled. The game that I am interested in is Hogwarts Legacy. I know that the game isn't out yet, however should I buy the PS4 version in april or the switch version in July. Please help
No, it is supposed to receive the additional outfits dlc and some minor fixes (mods and graphics/gameplay improvements are only for next gen), but CD hasn't said anything about release date yet.

Switch's ancient NVIDIA SoC can't handle witcher at such high resolution, it will basically be a frame slideshow with constant crashing.

Go into setting and change sharpness to max. A lot better
you can byturning the aa off it will turn off the dynamic resolution.

Rt mode: 2k (1440) 30 fps
For me performance it's the best, rt mode looks blurry and 30 fps...no thanks

It looks horrible on the switch. I played it on PC and wanted to play it again on the switch. No way. It just looks like an accident, even on that small screen.
But hogwarts legacy couldn't handle the graphics. It shows If they really wanted to make it nice for the switch And ps4 They could have. But they want to make The new consoles look the best They've always done this
It looks shockingly bad on the Switch, copium aside. But the PS5 pushing to 1440p with Ray tracing on is also a big L.

No way even without Ray tracing the Ps5 version still has better draw distance, better foliage, better shadows, sharper textures, better anti aliasing etc.
