Normal menstrual cycle last anywhere from two to seven days and the average cycle is once every 28 days, although it can vary. Anywhere between 24 and 35 days is considered a normal cycle. Common reasons for late period or irregular periods can range from hormonal imbalances to serious medical conditions then you ask, why is my period late. You may experience a change in your cycle when you go on or off birth control. Birth control pills contain the hormones estrogen and progestin, which prevent your ovaries from releasing eggs.
As well as absent or irregular periods, symptoms include hot flushes, night sweats. If you’ve had a busy schedule or a family trauma, it can delay your period. The stress can stop your period and make you think you’re pregnant when you’re not. If you're breastfeeding, the hormone responsible for breast milk production - also suppresses ovulation.

hey ik this is so late, but if you’ve just now gotten your period for the first time there is no reason to worry. periods are usually irregular during the first year and based on your age! I’m sure you’ve figured all of this out by now though!

This definitely doesn't seem normal... There are many things that could go wrong or it could very much likely be an irregularity of your hormones due to you stopping the pill recently. The only thing I would recommend, is that you demand a blood test and if you start getting explainable pain with no bleeding (more importantly if it's on one side) go to the doc or the ER as soon as you can.

Other causes of premature menopause include damage to the ovaries by chemotherapy and/or radiation treatments, or surgical removal of the ovaries.
Maybe your body is not yet mature for that or hormones are not active.. I too experienced my first period when almost 19... Just be patient and if too worried see a doctor.

When You First get your period it is inconsistent for 2 years meaning you can never know when your going to get it or how long they are.(You Can Estimate, but sometimes it will be late or early). I only started mine recently and I was late around a month in a half. So most likely its just inconsistent because your body isn't use to it.

As the sloughing of your uterine lining stops, and your period lightens, blood leaves the body more slowly.So when you look down and see dark brown or black blood, it's just a sign that it's older and has been in the body a bit longer. So don't worry
