    Great content! Sacramento native living in Kentucky and I miss that casino!
    The quad 9 hand reminded me of an old Bugs Bunny cartoon quads hand - Bugs slow roll his hand and says "I got 2 pair - a pair of ones and another pair of ones" 🤣🤣

    17:00 ahahahaha....63s!! Goes all in PF.
    Tell ya my story:
    $2/5 game, 3 limp, I (BTN) TT, raise to 45, one call, last limper 3-bet to $90 (short stack ~$235). I shove, he snap called. He flips over 57o! ( I almost laughed). Flop 57J, turn 5, river...irrelevant!

  • @pot_kivach160
    @pot_kivach160 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

    2:28 river bet was unnecessary. The best case scenario would be chopping it!? So: it is a no win/lose situation (losing to quad of 99, FH Q9, K9, T9.).

    77 (7:37): Wp. This is a bad spot for a large turn bet. Neither one of you has many sixes or straight draws on this flop, so the primary hands that hit are 77 or Ax. You ran into the perfect hand to get all in here. TT at the end was wp too. Good job getting it in before the river.

    10:54 What happened? He folded, correct?

  • @dacgours55
    @dacgours55 ปีที่แล้ว

    Glad the 77 hand worked out. Devils advocate- a lot of people would fold the A/10 to a bet and you would have gotten nothing there. I like a check when they are very likely to have nothing. But I can understand the bet.

    Hey Doug! My wife and I love watching all your vlogs and admire your solid game. Only one critique about your goal #5. Goals are things you can work on and acheive. You cannot do anything about luck. Luck is up to the Poker Gods and they work in mysterious ways.

    Played last night and hit quads over quads. No bad beat jackpot at that venue unfortunately. I had 10/10 my opponent had 8/8. Runout was 5/8/10/8/10.

    • @Ggoodlad1
      @Ggoodlad1 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Ran into the other end of quads over quads last night too. My 44 vs KK on a K-Q-4-K-4 board, felted of course.
      1st time in 18 years of poker that my quads were beat. Ugly feeling. 🥺
      No bad beat here, either

    Been wondering in your 2023 poker goals you have “Be luckier then my opponents”. I’m not sure if this is a tongue in cheek thing or not but why would you have a goal be something you have no control over?

    The flopped straight, I don’t agree with going for value on the river. What do we get value from other than a 9. Even KQ is in a tough spot to call with that runout.

      It was a punt, should be an easy fold every time and check the river was best after he called a big turn bet.

    Nice aggression on the 77 hand. I'd definitely fall into the trap of just calling the turn, but I like your play there.

      Thanks Huggie, I would say the majority players tend to play that way. You may pick up a small bet here and there, but you miss out on stacking someone who is a non believer.

    Looked like an older gentleman and his hands were shaking when he put in the call on turn like he liked that card. Usually that check raise on river is super nutted but can't blame you for calling. Enjoy the vlogs keep em coming

    • @dougmccuskerpoker
      @dougmccuskerpoker  ปีที่แล้ว

      It was a bad call, should actually check back a large portion of river cards. His hands shake most of the time.

  • @michaelmclaughlin1958

    Good content. I’m thinking you had as much bad luck as good luck. The 7’s full flop was certainly lucky but the 63 that got a straight was very poor luck. I’m always amazed at how accurate your reads are. It’s almost like your regular opponents are playing their cards face up. Sorry can’t make the 26th. I plan to be in NC visiting daughter. Maybe next time, or I’ll just plan a trip to Capitol Casino. If you can, please recommend a hotel.

    • @dougmccuskerpoker
      @dougmccuskerpoker  ปีที่แล้ว

      The 77 was amazingly lucky, so was the 63 but the other way. His call isn’t awful if he puts me on AK or AQ. Enjoy time with your daughter, family first always! Lots of good hotels in downtown Sac, few minutes to Capitol by Uber.

    Nice Sunday afternoon viewing for me, Ive been watching quite a bit of Hustler action, would be nice to see you get involved although the games are quite big, the average quality of player there is poor, theyve got no idea about position, betting sizes , opponents ranges etc, there are about 5/6 guys /girls who know what theyre doing there, look at how Mariano is cleaning it up there, he must be close to $500k profit , anyway, I wrote this before watching your vlog, haha, will now sit back, relax and enjoy, as you always so eloquently say!! regards Bro from Fraser in the UK

    • @dougmccuskerpoker
      @dougmccuskerpoker  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks Fraser, the games on the stream are large and action packed. My wife always comments that those games are not for me. 😀. I do plan on making some small trips this year to play in bigger games where I am less known.

    Played a sesh last night, was in for 300, out for 218.. Had some big wins but couldn’t hit a flop with AK and none of the flops touched my range. Learned a lot though, but still a bit upset. Was up to 420 at my best but

    • @dougmccuskerpoker
      @dougmccuskerpoker  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It’s frustrating going on a 2 card rush. Missing flops in action games is painful, you did well to only lose a couple of bucks.

  • @markstevens3078

    Technically him announcing 2 pairs means he loses a straight beats it,But that’s up to the dealer too sort that out

    • @RhymesWithCarbon

    @5:30 You folding Ace King here is just really bad. especially vs an agressive opponent, youre getting exploited hard here

    • @dougmccuskerpoker
      @dougmccuskerpoker  ปีที่แล้ว

      I definitely felt exploited after that hand. I randomize my call down frequency in spots like this, this time I folded. If only my watch was 10 seconds faster I would have called. I blame it on my watch. Lol

    • @Carriby
      @Carriby ปีที่แล้ว

      @@dougmccuskerpoker hahah allright. O well, but i would recmmend looking at it that way: if you fold AK here, which hands are you calling? Keep up the Vlogs btw!!

  • @mrhumble2937
    @mrhumble2937 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Why was that guy bluffing the 9/10. No real draws. Don't think it was a good bet just got lucky you didn't feel strong.

    • @yungwhop
      @yungwhop ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Why did he fold

    • @dougmccuskerpoker
      @dougmccuskerpoker  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      He knew that my range didn’t hit that flop hard. He was putting the pressure on with air. I planned on calling down unless a wheel card came. Once it did, to many hands in his range has me drawing dead or bad. Good play by him, risky, but good. He tried a similar move later and bluffed off his stack to someone with 2 pair.

    Entertaining as always. 👍
    FWIW ~9 handed limped pot w/66 from SB A86 flop I'm always leading out here, not check raising. Small-medium bet here usually gets multiple callers 9 handed, in my games check raise looks way too strong. Leading small/medium each street flop and turn gets more $ in vs weak 1pair hands which are most likely holdings in 9 handed limped pot.
    Keep the run good going! 👌
