Definitely a pleasant surprise!
Nice to see they have the full arcade-version of Cadash. I really like that game since I used to play it in the arcade. Taito rarely releases that game on collections, so that's nice to see included. However, I would rather see it on an Evercade cart, because that's the kind of game it would be nice to output to a TV from your Evercade.
Great review as always and definitely agree that this is the one to get. Incidentally I've ordered Taito Milestones Collection 2 for the Switch so it'll interesting to compare how they play on both devices as I think there's three or four games that are on both the Super Pocket and the Switch Cart. Keep up the awesome work :-)

Absolutely great vid on super mini pocket. Always solid advice. Have just ordered the namco collection 1 legacy cartridge. I've decided to purchase this as is only for the handheld evercades. I have exp but really is for the pocket. Can't wait to stick in my Atari cartridge like canyon bomber on arcade version. The sound is meant to be punchy from native speaker and hoping similar via the 3.5mm socket. Sorry for commenting lots as I can't wait for my taito version.

Great video , glad I've gone for the Taito Super Pocket. Wasn't sure how Operation Wolf was going to work on this , but it looks like it works fine. If only it had Chase HQ it would have all my Taito favourites

Great review! I wish this was an Evercade cart as i have the VS and the OG handheld but the form factor, interesting game selection and cheapish price definitely has me tempted to pick one of these up

Can’t wait for mine to arrive, Bubble Bobble and Rastan are two of my all time favourite arcade games!
Incidentally the red doors on Elevator Action contain bonuses, to access them you have to stand on the mat on the floor just off to the side and push up! Then your character will enter the door, the aim of the game is to get to the bottom and escape in the car :)

I've already got an EXP but I think I'm going to get this Taito Super Pocket for my eldest for Christmas. He's doing game design at college and been playing a few older games lately, most of these games he will never have heard of, let alone played, hopefully he'll like it! The fact you can play Evercade carts on it is brilliant as I already have a big collection he can dip in to.

kiki kaikai the arcade game, not great, but the super nintendo release is legendary. its one of the hardest shooters on the platform.
Hi John. Love Operation Wolf. I used to play it at Romford Ice Rink in 1987 with friends from Havering Technical College... Great memories 🤩🤩🕹🕹
Hi Steve... that is going back a while.. my first time playing it was on my spectrum 1990.. with light gun.. however the joystick port was broke on the spectrum, so it was returned after just 2 days.. we got a C64 instead!

One cool detail I like about the super pockets is how each one matches the colours of Taito and capcoms logo.
Going to be a busy gaming week next week when my copies of indie computer heroes, full void and the Taito edition super pocket arrives. Gonna be awesome Especially After a few months break from playing on the evercade :).

Just on a random sidenote. When my Taito super pocket arrives this week. I'll let you know if my copy of future wars from the Delphine collection works or not. See if it's an isolated incident or not. Kinda sucks About the full cartridge compatibility issues. Although it's not a huge deal either because I'll only be using it for the Taito games since I have the VS and EXP to game on.
@@nomadlonestar8004 It could be isolated to me as I've seen it running on the pocket. It could be related to using it on the VS then playing it on handheld. It's an old issue that's happened a few times over the years. Usually a fix is needed to sort it. So this could happen to anyone but possibly most that only own a pocket won't see this issue.
@@CrazyBurger aaaw I see. That sucks. Out of all the games in my evercade collection. Only 1 game doesn't work unfortunately. Legend of wukong on Piko collection 3. Every time I quick save. It always restarts the game everytime I load it. Was looking forward to playing that one as well. Why couldn't it have been beast wrestler Instead lol.
Thanks Crazy Burger for another fantastic video. Would you recommend this device and the Capcom device if you already have a Nintendo Switch? I have the Taito Milestones 1 cart and will be picking the 2nd cart.
That's a good question.. both share similar games but also both have games that are not each others collections. Super Pocket has Puzzle Bobble, Football Champ.. not sure they are on Milestones? The Super Pocket can fit in your pocket.. you can play Evercade Carts. I'd say its a nice to have device but switch is certainly a premium device 6 times more expensive..

I love this model. It is so cute, and playing the Cadash arcade on it is a dream, for me. I keep my Renovation cart in it for the Valis games, otherwise.

I'm going to ponder on mine for a few days... Slightly smaller than I was expecting, scan lines are useless it's that small lol. The idea is there, great games but I'm also reminded I can't have these Taito games on the Big Screen. I guess coming from Evercade, VS & EXP I'm gonna have to warm to the idea of these Super Pockets. Namco Collection 1 Pacman as I hoped does look sweet on these tho!
My mum surprised me with this console for my birthday. i've been enjoying it alot. i will say its very good. i have the taito edition. i've played alot of liquid kids and volfied. i've also played all of the built in games and i really enjoy them alot. Space Invaders 91 is a mega drive game. i wonder if it will gets software updates like all modern phones and devices.
It should be getting an update soon but it'll be via cable and pc
@@CrazyBurger i hope so too. i've almost had it for a month and i've been enjoying it. i took it at the cafe and in the car and its very fun to play on to pass the time. i might get some evercade cartridges for it soon. i think the taito edition is very fun and addictive. one thing i hope that they should add in the future is sleep mode so when you want to take a break or you have something to do like go to the bathroom or maybe you need to send a text or make a phone call. you don;t waste any battery power. overall i've been using it so much. i look forward to your videos.👍

I’m thinking of getting this as I skipped the EXP. Not being able to play some of the Evercadexgames like Cathedral is a bummer, though.
There will be a fix for it at some point.. but probably not till the new year.
It looks really nice, think i prefer it over the Capcom one now. Do you think we will see more Super Pockets for games we wont get on cart format?
I think it's highly possible we could see 2 or 3 more of these..

Does this device have a glass screen? I want to know if I could put liquid glass on the screen to protect it. I just ordered one.
Hello mate. I still prefer the Taito colour scheme to the Capcom. I am so conflicted on what to get. The Taito one's appeal is their games are not constantly available where Capcom's are on Steam and often on sale for not much money, I think I paid 60 something p for Ghosts 'n' Goblins on Steam.

Yeah, I'm going Taito now because they don't release their games often. That first vertical aligned one I think is pretty rare full stop I think, that's why it's on there I'd say. I'll just wait for a sale and get Ghouls n Ghosts on Steam for a quid, that's the one I was going to play through and 100% but I don't know when we'll next see these Taito ones available again. Last collections for Taito I remember were on the Gamecube, xbox/PS2.
I just wish you could get these games in the other color! Cause I plan to eventually get the EXP because it is fully functional for any and all updates or special features they may come out with.
As it is I'm likely to get the Capcom one though simply for the color.
Great video CB. Actually operation wolf isn’t a light gun game at all. The fake gun is mounted on a joystick and that is how the cursor is controlled. Maybe that is why it plays ok on the Super Pocket. 👍
Lol interesting.. The Spectrum version was a light gun game though. I did manage to play that briefly once upon a time..
Hmm is that right? I played it with a light gun on the Sega Master System. Not saying you are wrong, I’m just surprised.

@@dreadtheweekendyes, many home home versions were light gun games but the original arcade one featured on the Super Pocket wasn’t. You moved a crosshairs about the screen with a gun mounted to a controller.

It’s a great device. One specific issue I’d like to highlight is the dpad…or to be more specific, its problem with diagonal inputs, as you’ll notice when you play games such as shooters on the device. Sometimes the diagonal inputs are dropped and it sucks…
I've not noticed any issues like that myself. Dpad certainly isn't as good as VS or EXP but it's not too bad.
@@CrazyBurger it’s weird because the dpad itself depresses like a button which seems to mess with inputs. I’m not sure if it’s a manufacturing error with my unit or not.

I just picked up mines tonight and man are those early carts tight fitting! I put in the Namco Museum Collection 1 cart and was really struggling to get it back out. I thought this issue was addressed with the latest production run of the EXP?
Mmm that's surprising.. I tried every cart. I didn't have an issue with any. Some were snug but nothing like the issue we saw with the first batches of the EXP.

Not at present.. I think the carts are similar in size to Gameboy carts.

No, this will unlikely happen. Taito and Capcom don't want physical releases hence these Super Pockets.

Is this really worth it if you already have an EXP?
So not really worth getting the capcom version no. Taito.. certainly an option if you can afford it. It's certainly more portable. Unlikely we will see a Taito cart on Evercade. Certainly the EXP is the preferred option. If you are interested in any of the Taito games then give it a go. Otherwise probably not for you. I'd say its definitely targeting a casual audience not already on board with evercade.

don doko don has a 2player mode, please say there is a cartridge for the evercade VS, blaze is killing me with all this waste... 40 winks 2 player coop the n64 rom but blaze take thee ps1 version which is badder and has no 2 player...and now the arcade multiplayer classic don doko don destroyed to singleplayer only on this handheld x.x
How to removed the glue once the seal stickers have been removed:
To remove the glue get a small can of Swan Lighter fluid, fold some kitchen towel over 3 times on it's self and put some lighter fluid on one end, (not too much, just a squeeze) and gently rub over the glue area and it will start to lift off. Once your happy the glue has gone use the other end of the kitchen towel to dry the excess off. No need to rub hard or for very long!
Personally I only use official Swan Lighter Fluid, cheaper brands may have different chemicals in them and may not be as good or could cause damage as the chemicals are too aggressive. Also great for cleaning CD & DVD cases. If your unsure try searching for: using lighter fluid to clean, using lighter fluid to remove glue
Lol I just covered it up with sellotape. Lesson learnt for the Taito box though.
I really dislike the design on EXP, and its to bulky. Super pocket has a much better design, more like a gameboy, to bad its muxh less Capcom games.
